“The food was outstanding as always. Service has gone down considerable however. We ordered cocktails, which came quickly and were rather good but when we asked to order appetizers our server informed us that the kitchen preferred for appetizer and meal orders to placed at the same time, as a result our meal arrived seconds after finishing appetizers, leaving us feeling rushed. Our server didn't check to see if we wanted additional cocktails or wine with our dinner so we had to hunt him down. All of our previous experiences at Matteo have been lovely, nice relaxed interaction with the staff; cocktail, wine and food recommendations were always given; owners walking around greeting and interacting with patrons...we did not experience this last weekend.“

“Overall good place to go. I do think some dishes like the Scallop need to be redone/rethough out. The sauce is unappealing and doesn't mesh well. Can that. I would also suggest smaller pizza sizes for single servings. 8 inch and lower prices would be fine. Lobster dish was good, my daughter loved the bolanagse. All in all 4 stars, nice little location, need a few tweaks to the dishes.“

“The most incredible restaurant I’ve been to in slc and I’ve lived here my whole life! Their food is so, so fresh and delicious. Everything feels like it’s been made with love, attention, and care. The staff is some of the most friendly, welcoming people I’ve met and they are always eager to assist. I’ve seen the owner on site a few times, and she also seems like a dream. If I’ve heard correctly, her family is Italian and the food absolutely reflects Italian values. I dream about coming here on weekends, and every loved one I’ve brought here is just as obsessed. 10/10, there are no poor menu choices.“

“Today was a very long day, and this was the experience that brought my day from crappy to great! Our waiter Luke was FANTASIC! He made sure our order was correct, drinks/soup/salad were always full. “We recently had a burger and a pizza here. The pizza was excellent. I had the margarita pizza and the crust was thin and super crispy. The flavors were very fresh with the crushed and roasted tomatoes and cheese. The burger was very good - messy and good. Our server was very attentive and helpful. We had lunch there and it was nice and quiet so we could talk easily. Good restaurant at the hotel, would eat there again.“

The garage closest to the restaurant has an exit that is right next to the restaurant. Parking isn't too expensive.“

“We came here for our 11-yr anniversary. For our 10-yr anniversary we did a pizza crawl in Chicago, Detroit, NYC, and New Haven Connecticut. So this year we did a much smaller version to check out pizza more local to us. Compared to the pizzas we tried in NYC, it was pretty good! The slices are huge. I got a pepperoni slice and my husband got a cheese slice and a bacon/green olive slice.
I thought it was pretty great overall, but my husband wished the crust was more crispy, though he liked the sauce.
The staff was friendly, but the music they were playing was pretty awful and the bathroom was gross. Overall great pizza and we’d come again.“
