“Visited the café today! Loved the delectable and creative menu, the warm service, and the beautiful, cozy interior. We enjoyed the inasal, tocino, and ube latte (complete with delicate latte art) courtesy of Sun and Stars Coffee. Our kid was thrilled she could enjoy an ube steamer, too-- and didn't want to stir her drink because she found the art (Hiraya's logo in this instance) so beautiful. If you want reimagined, creative, and elevated Filipino cuisine where the flavors simultaneously bring back sensory memories of the comfort food of your childhood, this is the place for you. Can't wait to return!“
“My partner and I walked in at 6:30 PM on a busy Friday night without a reservation (I didn’t realize they had started taking reservations!) The host said the only options were bar seating or outdoor seating under heat lamps. We didn’t really want either of those options, but understood that since we didn’t have a reservation, we could not be very choosy. The host then kept looking at his reservation app and offered us a very nice table as long as we could be finished by 8:30 PM. We said that two hours is plenty of time! He said he felt bad that there wasn’t room for us but we assured him this was perfect and we would definitely be finished by the time he needed the table back. He was so kind and accomodating. The rest of the staff was also excellent (as always!) and the food was outstanding. I have always loved Purple Patch and will certainly return soon. Thank you PP team for being awesome!“
“This new bar in town is worth the hype. Everything on the menu is non-alcoholic, rivaling local wine menus at the largest and more expensive restaurants. They have a TV for those who love sports, and a family atmosphere ready for a friendly conversation. It’s the perfect date night spot, and Filipino owned and led.“
“Came for happy hour and loved it! The happy hour burgers were so unique and a great deal at $12. The lumpia were nice and crispy, and the mango salad with shrimp paste had the perfect about of funkiness to it. The drinks are also appropriately strong and super yummy. Would definitely be back!“
“Luming's offers delicious, authentic Filipino food! The chicken and pork BBQ, pancit, vegetable lumpia and turon were all amazing! We are from out of town so weren't able to sample everything, but can only imagine the other dishes must be just as good. We tried a few different Filipino restaurants in the area and the others were more fusion than true Filipino, making Luming's our absolute favorite! The service was great, as well. The young Filipinas working with on a Sunday were upbeat, helpful and efficient. There was a steady stream of customers coming in and they provided great customer service all around. We will definitely be back the next time we visit the DC area.“
“Popped in here with friends to watch football and grab dinner. It's a narrow space under Tiki on 18th with TVs covering almost every wall. We were all pleasantly surprised with how delicious the food was, since we were just expecting standard sports bar fare! We shared four items: lumpiang Shanghai, mumbo salmon lettuce rolls, spicy pork sisig, and the jojo pansit. Everything was incredible. I loved how crispy the lumpiang was and the mango chili dipping sauce was great. The sauce on the lettuce rolls was SO good. We wanted to get the beef pares but they were out, so hope to try that again in the future. I'm glad I didn't know it was associated with Tiki on 18th before because I would have missed out on some delicious food. I stopped going to Tiki on 18th because they are predatory with the 20% included gratuity, by only showing you a final total on the card reader and automatically prompting for additional 20% tip. All that to say, I'll make an exception for The Game because the waitress reminded us about the included 20% which I appreciated and the service was excellent.“
“So good!! I ordered through Uber Eats and everything was packed so well. I had the sinigang, bbq pork belly skewers, lechon kawali, and sisig. I'm very picky about sinigang but theirs is the best I've ever had! The skewers were delicious. The lechon kawali was so crispy even though it had to survive a 10 mile drive. The sisig was really good too! I usually prefer mine a little spicier and vinegar-y but it was still great. I love all the pickles that come with it too. My family never ate pickles with our meals growing up, but it makes so much sense since filipino food can be so rich.No frills, just tasty food. Portions were really good, especially for the nova area. Will definitely order again!“
