“Really wish I could give this place a better rating! The people running the place were so nice and friendly — and it’s a great local establishment. Our rockfish sandwich was fine — but we had two catfish sandwiches, and the breading on both was just too salty. Maybe we got a bad batch, so I’m willing to give the place a second try!“
“The Queen Vic is located on the H Street Corridor. It is a fun pub and event space. I like the royal theme. Check the web site for hours since they vary. The DC Street car runs by H Street. The area can be sketchy at night. Stay with your group and have a cross body bag. It can get crowded on weekends. The menu is typical British pub food.“
“we went to the Vegas location and how Gordon Ramsay can put his name to the crap this place serves up is beyond belief. the batter is way to thick and over cooked and the highlight should not be the Dijon mayonnaise that comes with the food. terrible food and a waste of $39“
“Hookah bar/lounge. We didn’t realize it was until we got there. We were there for a march madness game on a Saturday afternoon and it checked off all our boxes. Not crowded. Good wings, great fries, fast service and intimate space. They have dollar beers from 5-6pm on weekdays. Haven’t seen prices like that in yrs“
“The food is always a good. With these restaurants it’s always a hit or miss but for the most part it’s pretty good. The service is below average. Their point is to take you order and get you your food. Don’t expect any level of hospitality.Atmosphere??? There isn’t much of one. It feels like a dine in restaurant going out of business soon.“
“The fish and chips are great and more than enough in a serving. I’m very impressed with the variety of English items they carry such as the chocolates, biscuits, and other candy. They also have alcohol which is a plus! The chef is always swagged out, funny, and takes the time to explain items on the menu.“
“It was a bustling Sunday afternoon and a line started to build as I approached the counter. One of the team members was kind enough to open another register and cut the line down. I waiting about 15 minutes and my salmon burger was ready! The sweet potato fries and salmon burger were not the best I've ever had, I would return because of the customer service and it's once of the spots that gives me several options as a pescatarian.“
“First off, Dave the owner and his beautiful wife are AMAZING people‼ They always treat my husband and myself like family. Now, for the food. My favorite on the menu is the Jamaican Jerk Ribs (served on weekends only), Collard Greens and Mac & Cheese. The flavor is sooooo delicious and reminds me of true, authentic Jamaican food (because it is). The meat falls off the bone...it's just that good and flavorful. The other dish I like is the Oxtail. OMGosh‼ The flavor makes my mouth explode with deliciousness‼ The food is not only good, but it's consistent each and every time we eat there. That's the big difference between Jammin Island BBQ and other restaurants...consistency!If you want some good, authentic Jamaican food, I highly recommend Jammin Island BBQ‼‼Thanks for the AWESOME food Dave‼“
“I’ll be honest, this restaurant has never really interested me because its standard Irish fare feels overpriced for what it is. However, I came in for their Monday night “I Am a Sandwich” special from 5-9pm, which also happens at the same time as their game night. I ordered the AKA “AJ” Smash Burger. The old bay onions were not to my personal taste and I probably should have asked for them on the side, but the rest of the burger was fantastic! I don’t typically enjoy old bay, so I don’t think I was the target audience. The combination of crab dip, soft bread, crunchy lettuce, and flavorful burger was fantastic. I hope this pop up will stay long enough that I can come back to try another one of the options! My 4 star review reflects the fact that I’ve only had pop up food, so I can’t vouch for the overall quality of regular menu food.“
