“We were taken to the restaurant whilst staying with new friends local to the area and to get to listen to the wonderful singer Annalyse Marie who was singing at the restaurant for the evening. - the restaurant Gusto is really wonderful with caring thoughtful staff but I have to say the food was truly wonderful ! I had the chicken bacon and Ranch Pizza and certainly never had this topping on a pizza before but thought why not give it a try ! I honestly with hand on my heart think this is the best pizza I have ever had in my life ! It was utterly delicious ! The right amount of cheese and sauce and a little messy but so worth it ! I keep dreaming about the pizza ever since ! I don’t think anywhere could beat how tasty this pizza was ! What a wonderful restaurant and if I wasn’t on a big trip I would absolutely return for more ! If you haven’t been to Gusto’s you’re missing out !“

“Fortunato serves upscale Italian food in a pared down but trendy atmosphere. Yes, the semi/rustic style means diners either need to sit close together or shout to be heard. I was one of a weekday evening of a party of three all of whom love to try new food. Starting with the formaggi (cheese platter) to cannoli and semifreddo dessert, we were not disappointed. Each of us ordered a main dish. The vegetarian chose homemade pasta with a creamy cheese sauce; the meat eater, pork Milanese; and I, the roasted whole Branzino. I elelcted to trythis fish for comparison with similar dishes in a favorite Oriental restaurant. Fortunato’s Branzino preparation won hands down for me. The flesh was perfectly prepared - moist, tender, and almost falling off the bones. The side complimented the fish perfectly. I finished my cannoli accompanied by an espresso and a smile on my face.“

“Great small bar to have an excellent cocktail and great food.Stopped by for a drink and small bites. Have not been here before, pleasantly surprised.AtmosphereVery small inside, but a cozy feel. Full bar, and small tables, perfect for couples or small groups. Sat at the bar, ordered drinks and appetizers. The food is the same menu from Fortunato need door, a very good Italian kitchen and Neapolitan pizza restaurant. That was packed (Friday at 7pm), so if you don’t have reservations, this gets you the same.ServiceOutstanding! The young woman who was tending bar was excellent…knew everything about the menu, and was attentive yet not intrusive. Best part was when I asked is she could make a traditional daiquiri (shaken, neat in a coupe glass). This is a sticky point at most bars these days as most often the bartenders have no idea how to make something like this, even though it’s been around for years. However she said it was a favorite of hers, and served me a perfectly made, delicious daiquiri. Also made my wife an excellent old fashioned…well done!FoodWe ordered a couple antipasti off the menu, Lamb meatballs and Formaggi, both were amazing. The meatballs were delicious, spiced perfectly, in a tasty marinara and cheese sauce. The Formaggi was also delicious, 3 small cheese varieties, with bread, artichokes, and an amazing Mostarda, which is similar to a chutney but made with fruit, in this case we were informed, strawberries. Outstanding flavor to all our food, and the two appetizers were perfect for a light meal.Only very small down for us was the music was a bit loud, and sometimes a little too frantic. Yes, sigh…we are older, and always are aware of loud music! It wasn’t overwhelming, or we would have not stayed, but that would be our only small critique.Very much enjoyed our visit!Would I go back…absolutelyWould I recommend…most definitely“

“We were warned when by locals that the slices were huge. So we order a share slice for my husband and I and our two a adult children who were with us ordered one each. It was the perfect amount for all of us. The pizza was delicious. I love the pictures all over the wall. We have recommended it and will take friends to it when they are visiting the area for the first time.“

“Absolutely love the Deluxe Calzones (we always add onions and peppers, sauce on the side) and the Antipasto salad is amazing!! I most definitely recommend this place. Staff is always nice as well ?Parking: Difficult to back out onto the street because of the busy street but I found a way out by going out of the back of the parking lot and onto the back street“

“Just had the Pimento Waygu burger with onion rings. Excellent food, fresh and hot. Bacon jam was a winner, and the onion rings the best I've had in years. Will definitely be back for more!“

“After a 10 hour car ride we were looking for a place to eat, and franks was one of three options open. Safe to say it did not disappoint! The pizza was really good, and the staff was extremely friendly! We came in about half an hour to closing, and they were kind enough to put in some drinks and two pizzas for us! Thank you guys, keep doing amazing!“

“Really enjoyed our visit to Mama Maria's! The young lady who served everyone was delightful! This provided a great start to what was very good food! My wife had the Cesar salad with shrimp, son had a cheese pizza, and I went for the bbq pizza. The cheese pizza was a perfect balance of cheese and sauce mine was rich in bbq sauce, cheese, pineapple with just the right amount of onion. Both of the pizzas had a perfectly done crunchy crust. If we are ever back in the area, will definitely return here!“

“Okay review time - me, I worked in NYC for 40 years so I know my pizza. I gotta laugh every time I see NEW YORK STYLE PIZZA - seems most Italian restaurants say that but pizza is terrible. Now Frank's Pizza is different - I really like the plain cheese pizza - crust was crispy, good quality mozzarella cheese - melted perfectly...just enough sauce.“

“Our waiter, Taylor D. was a rock star tonight. Not only did he stay by the side of a customer during her entire medical emergency, he made sure everybody got what they ordered and then some after everything was ok. Would definitely recommend this restaurant! He should get employee of the month!“

“We stopped in close to closing time with all the the kids. All the staff was extremely friendly, from the kitchen to the ladies serving us. They even offered to help find a coupon and didnt rush us out when they passed closing time. Got a classic pizza with mediterranean toppings (pepper, artichoke, olives) - the pizza and toppings were spot on and the cannolia were great! Also has a bar top sit-down multicade with Galaga, PacMan, and Donkey Kong, T2 pinball machine, and a racer cab! Loved that there was God-honoring music playing the whole time as well. All-in-all this was probably our favorite place we've sat down at in the whole area. We will be coming back every time we visit. Thank you guys!“

“I did lunch take out. The food was ok. Baked spaghetti was alright. I was underwhelmed by the steak and cheese. I guess I expected more from an Italian restaurant. However, those chips they served with the sandwiches, so so good. Im not really a chips person, but with these ones, ate every crumble“

“We were the only ones that were in the restaurant. I have not been to Frank’s in awhile so I figured I’d stop by. I bought a vegetable calzone. It was tasty other than the crust was a bit dry and a bit over brown for my liking. Staff was very nice.“

“It's located in a very empty strip mall. Plenty of parking as the lot is pretty empty. You can feel the heat when walking in. They have on AC but that coupled with the oven makes it for a warmer than usual experience: they've got fans throughout but you can tell it's pretty dated in there. I don't think the AC can keep up with the hot oven. I wasn't sweating as we sat and waited but it was easily about 80 in there. Greeted with a friendly smile. We decided to dine in rather than drive all the way back and have cold food. We got our usual calzone and cheesesteak. The small calzone was enough to feed 2. The deluxe cheese steak was also filling. We both liked the cheesesteak. The bread had a nice crunch and it wasn't too cheesy or overly seasoned. I would get it without the lettuce and tomato next time. They weren't bad. I just didn't think they were needed. The calzone was only OK. I didn't find many meat pieces and it had an unfamiliar taste to it. I am guessing either worceshire or soy sauce. It wasn't bad, only different. It had a nice crust and sauce. I wouldn't get it again if choosing between that and the cheesesteak. The CS wins hands down for both of us. We didn't order pizza this time but I do want to try it. Inside was clean albeit clearly an older establishment. The decor and fixtures are definitely in a time warp. They were random things that were put on the walls with no theme. Not a problem, only an observation and a bit of a chuckle. Friendly service. The food does take some time to come out and it's piping hot when it does. They say good food takes time. We waited a good 20 minutes for ours to come out and we were the only ones there. The lady working the front said she was from Egypt and we had a nice conversation in Arabic. It doesn't happen very often in Roanoke as most people here that I've met who speak a middle eastern or North African language generally speak Dari or Pashto or even Farsi. We would go back to try the pizza when in the area. I give it an overall a solid 4 out of 5 because it was rather warm inside and because the calzone wasn't what we expected or hoped for. I would get the cheesesteak again too. The food was decent. Not sure I would go all that way for a cheesesteak though. It was good but not good enough to go out that way for that.“
