“I consider Stone Mountain Vineyards my winery retreat. My friends and I come with a picnic to sit on the deck and enjoy a day of watching the view.We call it our “hike”….from the car to the winery. We purchase one of their cheese boards and a bottle of wine. They allow dogs- which is wonderful. They have water bowls out.I try to not go when it’s busy. That’s just me. They say the weekdays are slower than the weekends. Even when busy it is still relaxing.Note- the drive up….the last bit is very much on a dirt gravel road and narrow in many spots. If you meet a car on it, one of you will have to back up aways.“
“We had a great experience at this private winery. We were happy to visit on a quiet day and were able to have a tasting at the bar by Sara. She is a wonderful addition to our visit because the conversation never stopped. We loved the Tannat and will definitely return.“
“Really friendly winery with great wine! We arrived a bit before tasting time, but loved that the phone numbers to the owners were on the door so that we could still enjoy a tasting. We really enjoyed all the wines and they were distinct from the usual Virginia terroir. Wines were reasonable priced, and we definitely enjoyed the stop. We would definitely recommend if you're in the Barboursville/Charlottesville area!“

“Hark is a happy place. Bring your kids or dog, or just yourself, maybe with a friend. Hark has plenty of space. The casual atmosphere is welcoming to all. The staff will chat with you about the wines and you never feel like your being worked through a assembly line. My friend and I have been coming here for years, and the wine is always good to great and the atmosphere is next to none. I’ll be coming back for years to come.“
