“This place has a hidden gem appeal, and we were pleasantly surprised with it. After coming from some very crowded wineries, it was a relief to not have to fight for a seat. I got the sweet wine flight, and it was pretty good. Everyone else in my group got the other flights, and our overall consensus was that the wine wasn't amazing but definitely decent. I also enjoyed the fire pits and the amazing view. Our experience here was relaxing, and we will be back next time we come to Charlottesville!“

“May 2024-This winery is not the most beautiful of the wineries in the area and does not have a view but the staff member was very friendly and I really liked the Petite Manseng. Their wines tend to be on the dry side. I would recommend visiting here.“

“This was such an unexpected find! I heard VA was known for their ciders. Ciders are typically too sweet for my taste but Albermarle offers dry ciders. It was super crisp and refreshing, especially for a hot summer day! We had our dog with us, and they were super nice and let him come inside since it was so hot outside. They also have snacks for sale and live music.“

The grounds of the winery are well manicured and there is a sense of peace and tranquility that I have not found at some of the larger area wineries. It was a joy to work with Karl in hosting this celebration at Loving Cup. He was patient and responsive with my emails in regard to coordinating the event timeline. On the day of the event, it was simple to set up and the lower level of the property provided us with a lovely and welcoming ambiance. The wines were all exceptional. “We stayed at the Farmhouse at Veritas last November and enjoyed a four course wine paired dinner. Unfortunately there was a forest fire in Rockfish Gap with a resulting traffic jam that prevented us from attending "wine hour" prior to dinner. We visited the tasting room on 5 April 2025 and had the opportunity to enjoy more of this vineyard's offerings. This was the highlight of our weekend when it comes to the four vineyards visited.The tasting area here is a large two-story affair with plenty of outdoor seeting as well. We did not have a look at the food menu but did start to get hungry watching all of the food go by.Vesritas was awarded three gold medals in the 2024 Governor's cup and we enjoued them all. The two wines on the white side of the ledger are coming home with us to be enjoyed later. Highly recommended!“

“The entire Chiswell experience is one worth repeating over and over again. The scenery along the driveway alone is remarkable, but few local destinations can compare to Chiswell when it comes to mountain views from the tasting areas. The views from the main house are inspiring and can be taken in from a number of indoor or outdoor seating options. Their wines are delicious, and the tasting menu offers something for everyone. I’m a longtime local, and watched this beautiful house sit empty and unoccupied for many years. The new owners clearly took great care to preserve the historical integrity of the home as they reimagined the space to create this winery. I was so excited to get to walk inside for the first time, and Rose gives fantastic home tours! This is a really special place and has become my new #1 recommendation for anyone visiting the area.“
