“They do not have drive-thru. That is a pick-up window only. I most times want little to no human interaction. I believe you can order online or call in, which is fault. It was my first time going to this establishment. Customer service was nice. They let me order threw the pick-up window even though I was not supposed to. They have a ton of toppings, the wait was 20 minutes for an XL, the XL is an XL to me, a ton of options for all eaters, and it is wheelchair accessible. All around would recommend.Vegetarian options: They have a decent variety of vegetarian options. You can customize what you order.Dietary restrictions: They have a decent variety of options. You can customize what you order. I do not think you can customize ingredients in their menu options. Like most places, they get things premade. Do ask because I did not.Parking: Free parking and a lot of it. No one really parking in that area at all throughout the day. There is also a gravel area to the right of the pickup window where you can wait in your vehicle for pick up.Wheelchair accessibility: Very wheelchair accessible. I believe there is a parking spot for vehicles that carry these passengers.”

“So, so, so good!! Definitely a hidden gem in the heart of Newport News, VA. I'm vegan and they always have special fridges whipped up in the back for me when I eat there. The drinks are divine and the personable, attentive service is top notch. Just make sure you have a reservation and make it in advance if you want to dine here, you won't be disappointed!!”

“Visited the Fat Canary Downstairs on a rainy day after my plans suddenly changed looking to eat great food with a great cocktail. It was one of those days where I really needed a win. I've heard the Downstairs is amazing and it definitely lives up to the hype. This experience made my day. Located in the wine shop below Merchant's Square, Fat Canary Downstairs offers a cocktail menu, a limited menu as well as the upstairs Fat Canary menu. I started off with a Gold Rush cocktail. It was refreshing and the Makers Mark still shone through. For my meal, I chose the Wagyu Beef Burger. They asked how I'd like it cooked and I said medium. To my delight, it came out a perfect medium. This isn't my experience with burgers at many places, so it was exciting. The burger was flavorful and juicy. The fries were also delicious. The way they were stacked made me laugh when my meal arrived. The plating, while simple, brought some whimsy to the table. My server was very nice and attentive. She checked in on the cocktail and food after each were served and then gave me my space to eat until I looked ready to leave. While it is a small space with few seats for diners, below the fancy Fat Canary, the atmosphere was cool and made me feel like I was in a place slightly out of time, away from the world. My experience wasn't loud or rushed. I had a great time and would definitely come back.”

“Good food and friendly service. The pancakes were really good. We ordered the country fried steak plate (special on the front blackboard, not on regular menu), chocolate chip pancakes, 2-2-2 plate and the breakfast burrito. The breakfast burrito was very small, like for kids, so don't expect big portions. It tasted good though.”

“My wife found this place we tried it and absolutely love the service here. We go back weekly for their brown sugar fresh milk and fill it with tapioca pearls. Our kids enjoy the strawberry fresh milk with ice cream and our daughter tried the egg waffle with ice cream and it was delicious. “The food was wonderful. I ordered the Cheesesteak fries They were good, but I was sorry I didn't get a traditional sandwich. Hubby got the Pizza Steak and I preferred his. The amount of food is phenomenal. We could have split a large sandwich and fries easily BUT hubby managed to eat the 10" all by himself lol. The fries were too much for me. Prices were not ridiculous and the service was friendly. Restaurant was super clean and welcoming.”

“My first time at yama was wonderful. We had it recommended to us and my wife and i decided to try it. Our usual spot is great but is becoming more and more expensive but that's inflation i guess. Anyways the service was great. Got drinks and food very quickly. The waitress was very kind and offered a a bevy of complimentary free treats like spring rolls and desert. Although i won't expect this every time. The sushi we got was some of the best i have had. The ambiance was quiet, intimate, and although i couldn't understand the music i was vibing a little. Overall a wonderful dining experience and my wife and i will be going back.”

“Three of us went to dinner at 6pm on a Wednesday evening. We didn't have reservations but the main dining room seemed almost full so they sat us in the second room. The food and service were phenomenal. We got the lobster ravioli and the salmon picatta. The free bread and olive oil was delish too. The only downside is there was a large party of like 20 people that came into the room and it made it hard to hear my friends at my table. But the host apologized for that and checked on us a few times throughout our dinner.”

“We were driving back home from a Sunday wander and found Francos in a quiet strip mall. (We had spotted the Subway first, but I'm about trying local places. )The place is smallish, very clean and nicely decorated. The staff is super friendly. Typical pizza place/Italian sandwich shop. We were happy to see pizza by the slice. I had a slice and a small salad, very fresh veggies. Hubs had 2 slices and said it satisfied his New York boy cravings.”

I had intended to take some home to share with my parents, but it was so good that all of us at the table just kept savoring it with the hot bread that comes with it. I’ll just have to take my parents to Shibam so they get the full experience. BTW, our waiter is perfect! We’ve been lucky enough to have him each time.”
