Run by very pleasant people, and they make some "killer" 'za.I've tried a regular pepperoni pie here, and also the philly steak pizza. Both great. But the Sicilian pie is where it's at. “I had a great time at River City Roll! I was able to easily make a reservation online. When we arrived the staff was friendly and helpful. I loved the basket with our shoes and the whole check-in process was super easy. This was my first time playing Hyperbowl and it was super fun! What a cool twist on bowling. I was having so much fun and the staff was able to fit in an extra 30 minutes for us to finish out game. The food was served in a timely manner and it was very yummy. If you're looking to bowl in RVA this is the place to go!“

The pizza menu is creative with quite a selection of specialty pizzas, subs, and other items. Took a few minutes to decide because of the number of choices. Everything we had was fresh tasting and the pizza crust was a really good thin crust. The staff was very knowledgeable about the menu and very helpful with suggestions. The teriyaki wings are a MUST Have! A lot can be inferred by the cleanliness of the restroom of any business, especially a restaurant. The women’s restroom here was spotless and smelled so pleasant that I searched for the air freshener, but soon discovered … there wasn’t one! They maintain their restrooms that well! WOW! “By far the best Italian food we've found. There are so many in the area, but this Giovanni's is the best. I love their pizza, and last night we had the pesto tortellini and it was so creamy and flavorful. My husband had minestrone soup and said it was the best he's ever had. Portion sizes were very generous and service was incredible. With all the staffing issues so many restaurants have had lately, we had no issues with waiting at all and everyone was so friendly. 5 stars all around“

The host was sweet and friendly and we were seated promptly (I made reservations) Dean our waiter was very pleasant ? very patient because I have wild 2 year old and 9 month old! The atmosphere was casual and friendly and we felt very welcome. The owner was walking around checking on things and making sure customers were happy. The waitress was very nice and kept everything filled and even served our pizza. Now the food... we had a half cheese half meat lovers pizza, chicken picata, chicken marsala, and lobster ravioli. “The vegan pizza at 8 1/2 is so unique and I absolutely love it. The dough is both soft and crunchy, the broccolini is chopped up making each slice easy to bite into and there's even a little kick! “I moved here 3 days ago from Miami and have been hearing about this spot since before I got here. Long story short, I ordered delivery during a long evening of unpacking. My rescue dog has refused to eat for three days during this move and I hadn’t eaten much as a result - stress is a killer. I ordered delivery late on a weekday night with a few minor modifications, but the one that took the cake was asking for bacon on the side, trying to entice my pup to eat. The delivery came with a 5 star hotel side of bacon labeled ‘for doggo.’ They didn’t know my dog hadn’t eaten for 3 days. Or that I’m crying from worry and exhaustion. They just gave him bacon. And me pizza. And we ate. And all is now right or at least fixable. And it will forever be my welcome pizza and the best meal my dog has ever had. Thank you.“

On Saturday morning, the owner called to verify all of the details and tell us they would be ready. We showed up a little early and they were ready for us. They were so great in getting everyone's orders in a timely manner and keeping up with all the food that the group of teenagers kept ordering!
