“Alot of times I will give 5 stars even though the place is maybe a 4 star place but this is not one of those times. This time Woodruff's gets a perfect score 5 stars a 10 out of ten a million bucks/ they deserve the best review I could possibly give!!! The experience of the going here was a highlight of our trip. This place has been open since 52 and run by the same family. The wonderful lady who served us the best pie and sandwich was a pleasure to meet/ she was so genuinely nice I just wanted to camp out in the grass next to the store for a few days so we could hang around and eat pie all day!! Haha she came out to say hello to our pup which definitely made her day! The chocolate chess pie was outstanding! Probably the best pie ever/ the Buttermilk pie was perfectly sweet and custardy/ the lemon chess was excellent I heard/ the crust is delicious/ this is the place to go if you want good pie/ drive all day for this experience you won't be dissapointed/ go out of your way to get here if you have to / a must stop. Oh and the chicken salad sandwich was also outstanding/ better than homemade it's fresh and delicious/ seriously the best chix salad I've ever had anywhere. I love this place/ it looks so cool the people are the best / the history is amazing! So glad we found it/ I'll never forget it and can't wait to come back / thanks so much and God bless you all!”

“Our son and his wife hired Sourdough Pizza to cater their wedding in 2019 in Harrisonburg and SP was kind enough to drive their pizza truck all the way there to set up and make AMAZING woodburned sourdough YUMMY individual pizzas for all our guests with salad on the side. Everyone was impressed and came back through the line for more...and the line moved quickly too!! I would highly recommend their catering services!!”

“Rookies is amazing! Delicious food, unique ice cream flavors, and great music/atmosphere. The staff are very kind and gracious— I am part of a team who regularly brings a group of 15-20 teenagers during spring/summer and they do a great job serving everyone.”

“The food is excellent but the one employee needs to learn how to work in stressfull environments. We went on the Saturday of LU's commencement weekend and they were very busy. Everyone was very patient waiting for their food. I was texted and told my order was ready and waited inside for almost 40 minutes before another employee came in and took over. During the 40 minutes that I was waiting for our food, the first employess that was packing up the food was not focused at all and more worried about yelling at customers to close doors or umbrellas and telling everyone that she is hot and doesn't want to have a heatstroke and that she has no insurance. I watched her pack and unpack multiple orders and was just assuming that people were not there so she was not pulling their food together. During that time, she only prepared 1 order, the other employee that came in, got about 6 orders out within minutes. I know my opinion may not be worth much but I am the paying customer and I do not need to be around an employee who apparently is incapable of working in a stressfull environment and makes decisions on whether or not to fulfill an order because she is more worried about the door than asking the five people standing patiently behind her, what their order number is.”

“Mrs. Joy’s is in fact absolutely fabulous!! The name of her shop isn’t wrong!!! Everything I’ve had from her is like a little peace of heaven. Mrs. and Mr. Joy are also some the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. If you haven’t tried it yet you’re truly missing out!!! My favorite thing so far are the cake bowls!”

“Be sure you have lots of time if u visit Al Ryan's as he makes everything fresh. The food was wonderful and u can tell it has been prepared just for you. Al gave me some Curry to sample and it was amazing. wonderful spice pallet. the lamb used in the dishes was prepared perfectly. It was moist and savory just like I remember it in New York. Al is a wonderful guy and deserves your business.”

“Amazing experience!! Everything about this restaurant will have you reminiscing for weeks. The atmosphere is so unique and upscale, and not something I would expect to find in Lynchburg. The craft cocktails are delicious and I couldn’t get enough of the food!! Incredibly high quality. My personal favorites were the empanadas and the wings. I look forward to seeing what changes are made on the rotating menu.”

“My husband and I tried Bonfire Burgers & Bourbon today and everything we got was delicious! Their smoked wings were the best wings I’ve ever had! My husband got the lamb burger and he loved every bite and I got the grilled cheese and sweet potato fries which were the perfect portion. I highly recommend you give it a try!!!”

“My new favorite!! I can’t wait to go back. We decided to try it out on Mother’s Day (2 days ago) because I wanted sushi and I’ve almost gone back both days since because the food was so good. Sushi was amazing and so was the hibachi was the best I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to try the Filipino food! Service was great too.”

From start to finish, my dining experience here was exceptional. The atmosphere is elegant yet comfortable, and the service is top-notch. As for the food, I was blown away by the quality and presentation of each dish. From the appetizers to the entrees and desserts, everything was delicious and beautifully crafted. I especially loved the Herb Chicken Breast, which was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. To top it all off, the view from the restaurant is absolutely breathtaking. “The wife and I are staying in downtown Lynchburg VA at the Virginian Hilton Curio Hotel (great place by the way) on a road trip. At dinner time on a Sunday night we are looking for small bites and our Google search hits on Bentley's on Bedford (Street). Off we go in the car for an easy 10 minute drive to find the place. Parking was plentiful. Inside was clean and seating well organized with nice bar in the background. I ordered She-Crap soup and my wife got a salad with Salmon. Both were delicious....add a glass of wine and we were in heaven. Service was first rate and the menu was well rounded. This is a definite GO-TO place when in Lynchburg. Off we go tomorrow to see the D-Day Memorial in Bedford VA and Appomattox National Park. Both are must see places in that area.”
