“Recently my family celebrated Easter Sunday Brunch for the 3rd year!!! As always, the food, atmosphere, and service was excellent! The brunch menu was extensive and delicious. Our waitress was polite, attentive, and very knowledgeable. I’m sure we will be returning next year for our 4th annual Easter Sunday brunch celebration. Keep up the good work. Thanks.”
“I am glad I gave this place a second chance, because the second time was awesome. We tried Fine Creek on Mother's Day 2023 for the first time. It was crowded, slow, and I really didn't like the beer I had. Almost a year later we met friends there and had a great time, loved the beer and food. Actually had 3 different beers and they were all fantastic. My only suggestion to the business is to have a way for people to taste the beer without buying a full 4oz. A flight or tasting would be great and I would have probably found something I liked on the original visit and returned much sooner.”
“Love this place! We’ve been visiting since they opened. Why have I not done a review?!?!1) super friendly2) awesome beer3) great food truck rotation4) great musicThe Grateful Dead vibe is authentic. Don’t be fooled. This team is truly passionate about making great beer.No stop in Richmond is complete without getting pint (or 5). Tell them the old guy sent you.”
“Just a gem of a spot where you least expect it. Local products and great food all under one roof. The smash burger is amazing and the reuben even better. The beers and other beverages were great, and the products all throughout the store were not only cute but led to an adorable Rural Virginia ambiance. It's a bunch of local kids it feels like serving you, which is also adorable, and every one of them was so nice! I'm definitely coming back.”
“Good food. Could be considered a little pricey, but it's worth the price. Good selection of sandwiches , hot and cold. I got a simple grill cheese with bacon and it was very good.”
“Pulled pork was tasty. Brisket was just ok. Great corn nuggets. Good hushpuppies. Excellent sauces made onsite. Particularly enjoyed the Memphis Heat and the Peach Sweet.”
“Best country cooking I have had in a long time. I had to get dessert after lunch and the pistachio almond coconut cake was the best cake ever!! I just happened to be in Powhatan for a family funeral and this was recommend to us. I would go again . No doubt the ”
“This place was good. I had the fajitas and they were ok. My daughter had the carne asada tacos and they were outstanding. The guy that brought the chips asked about a white sauce they had available, we tried it but didn't care for it. Overall I was satisfied with the place and I will be back.”
“Frisby's, a local Powhatan restaurant didn't disappoint. Not 5 stars, but it's a family restaurant, not a fine dining establishment.I can't speak to the rest of the appetizers, but the Carolina Reaper wings actually brought some heat combined with a really awesome flavor! Tender, juicy, flavor packed! What more can you ask for?My catfish platter, with cornbread, okra, onion rings and corn bread was really nicely done. The portions were large and the catfish was really, really tender and juicy. The okra was cooked very well but lacked somewhat in flavor while the onion rings were really good as well. Tender, and not too much breading. My wife had Nachos, her report is, "they're not Mama Kwans or El Cerro, but the portion was large and the toppings generous and well flavored".My granddaughter had the popcorn shrimp with fries, the popcorn shrimp, she reported, were pretty good with a little too much breading. The fries......OK. She loves her some fries and can be a little picky. We all had leftovers for a fine dinner at home. That's hard to do with me. I'm a lifetime member of the clean plate club! All in all it's good American roadside fare at a reasonable price. We will be back.”
“Been here three times now and it’s consistently delicious. Their fried rice is how I knew fried rice growing up……actual veggies in it! I’ve had both shrimp n lobster sauce and pork lo mein and both are worlds apart from the other Chinese food places in Midlo. Highly recommend!”
“When you want hibachi-style food, but don't have time or money to go to a Japanese steakhouse, grab some food here! It's just as good, but quick. They have all the typical options on the menu, and oddly a few Chinese options as well. Maybe that's for people who don't know all the differences between Chinese and Japanese. It's ok. They make everything taste great! My favorite is the Teriyaki Shrimp with extra YumYum sauce, of course. They ALWAYS ask if you want extra YumYum sauce. Not sure who says No to that question. This is a great place to grab a meal for the whole family. Dinner menu, for abundant, generous, adult portions, the meals are around $10/each. Each meal is really 2 meals though. Enjoy!”
“Everything was pretty great at this restaurant. Food was good, service was good, everything was fast and accurate. Server was attentive and pleasant. Would definitely eat there again.”
“Stopped and got a good meal here a few times. Not sure if they're changing the name. Different sign says Mexican grill on it now and cups say Lalo's Cocina. But I don't care about the name, the food is great!! Highly recommend, it's not too expensive, and ”
“My wife and I moved to Powhatan a few years ago, and like most other transplants, we had to try all the local cuisine. We stopped into Wildwood Bar-B-Que shortly after moving in to try the ribs and the pulled pork sandwich. The staff was great, but we left with the impression that the food was just ok. The ribs were hard to cut and really stuck to the bone. It may have been an off day, but we weren’t planning to return.Fast forward to the fall of 2023, a friend mentioned there was a new owner at Wildwood and felt the food was much better. So, desperate as always for new food experiences in Powhatan, my wife and I returned and placed the same orders as our first visit. It was a complete 180°. The ribs were falling apart, and the house barbeque sauce was fantastic. At the staff's suggestion, my wife got her pulled pork sandwich “sauced and slawed” and she couldn’t put it down (for multiple reasons).Since then, we’ve been back a few times, and our only complaint is the lines keep getting longer. When I made this joke to the nice lady at the counter, she pointed out that they now accept orders online. 10/10 will be back.”
“Y’all leave that fried catfish alone, I mean don’t order it ! That way it will be more for me, undoubtedly the best catfish I have eaten in a long while! The collards were delicious also! If you haven’t tried Mama Browns cooking you are missing something special!”
