“I've passed this place many times, but was leery because the restaurant has changed hands many times in the past 10 years. Was in the mood for a good burger and decided to try it.We picked up 2 cheeseburgers to go, and I was so pleasantly surprised with it! One of the best cheeseburgers I've ever had! Our last trip to DQ in Grafton was very disappointing, and didn't want drive-in type meal. The steak fries were freshly made and delicious as well.I gave it 5 stars except for atmosphere, but it has a retro feel some ppl may love. It was immaculately clean too.I highly recommend giving this place a try. The donuts and ice cream I saw looked amazing too, so that will be another trip.“

“The food was incredible. I opted for the 'catch of the day', in this case consisting of Mahi-Mahi. The filet was very well made, flakey in the right way.My only gripe with the restaurant would be that it's small. VERY small. And it stays busy. If you're not good with tight quarters, I would steer clear. Restrooms are tiny. Going to the restroom from your table is a game of dodge-the-patrons. We didn't even go during a peak meal hour and the place was busting at the seams. However, this is a sure sign of the popularity and the quality of service and food one will receive when arriving here.Wheelchair accessibility: I wouldn't bring a wheelchair into this place whatsoever. There's barely any room for the chairs they already have, let alone one you have to bring yourself. And since this place is VERY popular with current and retired servicemen and women, it's heartbreaking that our disabled military retirees won't be able to experience this homely restaurant.“

“I have always loved pelicans! Not only do they have an excellent selection of flavors and toppings but they also have a wonderful owner. Ms. Lisa and her team have always greeted myself and every customer with a smile. They are willing to take the time to explain flavors and even allow you to have samples. This place is very family friendly, clean and a wonderful small business that fits perfectly here in Yorktown. If you're ever passing by please stop in and experience this for yourself! I think you will agree!! Thank you Pelicans and Ms. Lisa!“

“OMG! This cute little spot is amazing. We were seated immediately, had great service and our food was amazing. The Shrimp & Grits were the best I’ve had, the Brisket Burrito ??, and my family love their 185. We will make this a mandatory stop when we visit the area.“

“It was Easter. My husband and my parents wanted to take my little sister on an Easter egg hunt, but plans quickly changed after the venue of the hunt was moved. My sister typically likes to have pizza when she comes into town and a lot of restaurants were closed. Mellow mushroom is open until 10 that day and it was a great decision. Our food was wonderful. I got the buffalo chicken dip and my husband got a California Club. He also got an Angry Orchard as a drink and he said it was nice and cold- very refreshing! My mother treated us so we do not have a total. But the Buffalo Chicken dip was around $12/$13 and the California Club was around $11/$12. Drinks were $3.50. And the Angry Orchard price wasn’t listed. So I’m not sure on that.In the summer is perfect because they have cornhole outside while you wait on your food, or even if you come to grab drinks!Overall, food was great and came quickly to the table. Service was awesome. Will definitely be going back!“

“Okay, starting at the top.The Thai chili calamari is AMAZING. I can't remember a time I had calamari that fresh. It was incredible. One dish is the seafood trifecta with seasonal veggies and mashed potatoes - delicious! The scallops were nice and fat, the lump crab was fresh and complemented perfectly, and the shrimp was large and juicy. The three were sitting in a bowl of butter with some seasonings....so good. The other dish is Cajun blackened halibut with asparagus and Mexicali Street corn. The fish was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The asparagus was fresh and the street corn was tasty...but even better mixed with the mashed potatoes lol.We ordered a bottled of the Joshua Cellars Cabernet which complemented perfectly. We happened to come after work and were not dressed for outdoor dining, but that is no fault of the restaurant - they had some heaters, just be mindful before you go.Lastly, our waitress was Felicia and she was wonderful! She was on it, friendly, attentive, but not overbearing. She had a busy section and that girl did not skip a bit.We cannot wait to come back!“
“This is a really cool little spot. Great selection of beer. Indoor and outdoor seating. Great selection of beers. I would have given a 5 star rating, but the woman who waited on us was clearly having a bad day. Service and attitude matter. Still with the trip, stay away from the BEER WENCH!“

“While looking for a cafe recommendation I saw this place pop up on Google Maps, and it did not disappoint! The pastries remind me of the Spanish bakeries I visited in Florida, so it's great to have one in the neighborhood. The pastries are flavorful and flakey. I'm not a coffee drinker, but the Nutella frappe hit the spot. I'll definitely be back to try more items.“

“Me and my partner stopped in because my parents enjoy this place so we have it a try and both got breakfast platters and it was really good . For a calm breakfast/ lunch with a good meal is literally all we can ask for . Will be coming back .“

“Of our large party, everyone had to add an alarming amount of salt to their food since it appears the cooks forgot to add it. Service was good but a lot slower than I would have imagined even with the size of our party. Lastly, why was the monkey bread pizookie removed from the menu?“

“First time dining at Nest and below is my opinion. I love a good breakfast and brunch spot with a variety of menu options. 9 :10 Customer service (server Grace) 8 :10 Food 7.5 :10 Étouffée & Grits which came with toast or biscuit. A lover of Creole and Cajun food this was a bit salty. I'm a biscuit lover and I opted for biscuit which was very dry. Server allowed me to get sourdough toast to replace. Overall 8.1 : 10“

“Wonderful setting to get a delicious lunch or dinner, with reasonable prices. Sitting on the covered patio, with a view of the York River, was a treat. The staff was friendly and the restaurant has an inviting and comfortable vibe. I ordered the salmon salad, and my daughter ordered the Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Both were delicious, and if I go again I would order the salmon salad again. The only issue during our late lunch/ early dinner is when the waitress asked me to pay the bill halfway through my meal. I told her straight out that I wasn't ready to pay. When asked if she could transfer the table to someone else, I was told NO. She said she had to clear her charges l, as her shift was finished. Yes, I was shocked. I was halfway through my $27 salad. I reluctantly stopped eating to pay. I even gave her a $10 tip, as up to this point, she was attentive and professional. Etiquette must have missed her brain when she was trained. After we finished eating (no one came back to check on us or offer dessert), I asked to speak to a manager. The general manager came to our table and handled the situation professionally and perfectly. He seemed shocked that this happened. He even offered to take something off my bill and return the tip. I told him to not do this, but I appreciated his offer. He spoke with me for at least ten minutes and gave me his business card. I will eat here again when I'm in Yorktown, but I will not have the same waitress.“
