“Skål Beer Hall provides the atmosphere it markets: a Nordic, viking-esque aura mixed with the chill vibe of a bar. The decorations, wooden architecture, and dim lighting invokes a feeling of relaxation after a long day of hunting.Food at Skål was decent -- there is little variety, but certainly a few unique dishes to try. Specifically the venison and pork belly skewers are a must. It took just one bite to taste the abundance of flavor.Drink choices are solid as well; the blonde ale I had tasted fine. Prices are a little high, but in line with Ballard expectations. One unique note are the various Viking-themed board games available to play. There is a large collection to select from, and provide great entertainment for a party intending on drinking and chatting out into the night.Overall, I recommend Skål Beer Hall as a great place for gathering in general, and even more so for (Nordic)themed ones.“

The Tin Table | Restaurant & Bar American • $$
915 E Pine St, Seattle

“The Tin Table is one of my go-to spots on the Hill! LGBTQ owned and operated--the staff are always so welcoming and remember my regular drink order. They never give me a hard time about not wanting any blue cheese on my cheese plate. The seasonal veg appetizers are always INCREDIBLE. I often take my fries, cheese, or dessert into the Ballroom to finish munching while dancing gets started. They just redid the seating and decor--now there are cute cozy loveseats, warm lighting on each table, etc. Super "Instagramable" if you're into that. Overall, the Tin Table is the perfect mix between cozy neighborhood restaurant/bar and slightly upscale vibes. I doubt you could manage to under OR overdress here.Wheelchair accessibility: There's an elevator in the hallway--if entering from Pine, just keep going straight past the stairs. Spacious ADA stall in the bathroom “

“This is not your ordinary pub. Beautiful tall ceilings, huge windows, and excellent cuisine. The "Bourrata" for $15 is what I consider to be a perfectly balanced dish - complementary flavors and textures in a pleasing presentation. The very fresh and gooey bourrata is drizzled with EVOO with flavorful basil, while the generous serving of prosciutto is thinly sliced and boldly flavored, with the crostini adding a perfect crunch. Everything in just the right proportion. Also had the Spanish shrimp, which had just the right amount of heat in the rich buttery sauce with chili flakes and paprika.“

“Very good modern spin on Korean food. Meat and fish preparations were expertly crafted. Sampled a large swath of the menu and enjoyed everything. One disappointing thing was dessert, but server kindly took that off the tab.Vegetarian options: Slim pickings. Roasted Brussels sprouts and potato small bites were excellent but not sure if they had meat components like bacon.Parking: There is a paid parking lot right across the street but spendy. Also close to a theater, so if there is a show in town, options dwindle and prices go up.Kid-friendliness: Well behaved kids should not be a problem.“

All American Breakfast

“We were staying at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront hotel and received a voucher for breakfast on Sunday morning. We arrived around 8:15am and were greeted and seated by very polite servers. I ordered the fried egg sandwich, however, I don't like hard fried easy over eggs so I asked for scrambled eggs on the sandwich instead and they were able to oblige. My partner got the All American breakfast with over easy eggs. Both meals were absolutely excellent and cooked to perfection. The country potatoes are huge so you have to cut those down to eat them, but overall both were really great meals. I'd return to eat here again.“
