“Food is delicious- seasoning/spices are delightful, homey and warm without overpowering or being too spicey (for those who can not tolerate full Indian spice, they are super accommodating!) staff were helpful and kind. 2 tables inside. Take out ideal. 10/10 recommend!“

“Are you sick of the same ol’ same ol’ pizza? Do you love Indian food? Well then this might just be your place. While they do offer the classics for those not looking for something new, for everyone else there is an amazing collection of Indian fusion pizzas. Of course they have a chicken tikka pizza, but that’s just the beginning. Just check out the menu and tell me you’re not compelled to give this place a try. We ordered the tandoori paneer pizza and the vegan Punjabi garlic breadsticks. And the verdict… Holy crap! Drop what you’re doing and get over here. Best breadsticks I’ve had in a very long time, if ever. Very bold flavors, chewy, delicious. And the pizza, while the flavors were more subtle, they were deliciously complex. I’m excited to return to explore the menu further. Do yourself a favor and get over here now.“

“Came in for take out aloo paranthe; damn, these were excellent proper roadside dhaba-type parantha. Only thing missing was white butter and pickle. But that's not a complaint; I have my own pickle and white butter at home. Keep up the great work and have your Maharaja train up the fellas at the Broadway location(nice folks but not dhaba-type paranthe). Shukriya!“

“Remember folks, all the negative and over the top ago reviews within a few days of each other are hate brigades. They are bots and accounts that aren’t in Portland and have never experienced Desi Pdx. since no service was provided it should not be considered valid.“

“Wow, amazing food. We were visiting portland from east coast and tried saag chicken + shrimp biryani from this place. The taste was top notch and spice level was really good as well according to our requirement. We wanted high spice that can satisfy desi tastebuds.“

The main point for review is that The staff were friendly and provided good service. Overall, it’s a great place to eat — tasty food, and a pleasant experience from start to finish.“

“The best Indian food I’ve ever had and by far the best in Portland. The quality is consistent and the service is fantastic, everyone that works there is so nice and they let you order over text message. My favorite dishes are the butter chicken, daal tadka, vegetable samosa and the garlic naan.“

“They have a very rich selection of both North Indian and South Indian food. The former tend to have a nutty, creamy, less spicy flavor.
A lot of the food can be made non spicy. The vegetarian options I tried were all very delicious.
Along with the usual biryani, paneer, aloo and others, they also offer dishes that are not common but very tasty. Some of these would be korma, kofta, something made with daal, and something made with mushroom.
I finish with clean plates. I was much reminded of the Indian food I got in London.
My friend once asked if they could make a spicy lassi that was off the menu. They delivered it. My friend said it was authentic and well made, although I could see why the restaurant didn’t put that on the menu.“

“EIC is my go to for Indian cuisine in Portland and last night was no different other than the noise of the air conditioner in the ceiling was overpowering. We asked to move and our server allowed us to pick our own table further from the noisy, thrumming fan. The king salmon dish is not to be missed. Where other restaurants might cheat a little and serve something other than expensive chinook filets, the chef makes a mouthwatering, perfectly spiced and cooked to perfection salmon dish. Don't miss it. The server was attentive and was cautious with my celiac and dairy food allergies. Fix the air conditioner and it's back to 5 stars all around!“
“Amazing find everything I needed!“

“Wonderful food cart in Scappoose with many Indian-style curry options. Everything made fresh including the naan bread. (They also offer different spicy levels.) You get a lot of food for the price! Its great to have a local option in town and I come by at least once a week for it, ever since they opened last year. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating too with a full bar available at the Lodge.“

“I sample some chicken marsala two weeks ago a friend had. I placed a to go order while I was on my lunch. I sampled everything once I got back to work. IT WAS SOOOOO DELICIOUS AND EXTREMELY WELL SEASONED. The food was sooo good when I got home from work; I heated up more of it. DANG IT!!! Was just as good as the first bite. I was up at 2:22 am finishing off the rest. Justin was amazing and has the best food selection advice. Please visit. I swear you won't be disappointed. Signed Tenise“

“We ordered Momo Soup and chicken chowmein and the preparation was great! The portion of the food was great for price and the service was very accommodating too. They have this amazing red chutney they serve with momos that is very very hot, exactly how I like it. This place has a more of a Nepali preparation as opposed to North Indian. The place where is food truck is located has a chill vibe and lots of seating space to enjoy your meal.“

“Amazing food. Plentiful portions. Great value. Indian restaurants can be hit and miss, but Swagat is upper echelon, a hidden gem. I had the goat thali lunch. It was wonderful! I may pay for eating so much dairy later, but it will have been worth it. I can’t wait to come back for the lamb samosas.“

“I enjoyed the lamb Kathi roll, the spices were on point and the naan bread soft and delicious. However, I was pretty shocked that it came only in tin foil. I would’ve expected it to be wrapped in paper and then tinfoil to make it easier to eat, and also prevent accidentally eating a piece of tinfoil, which is incredibly toxic.“

“I could not believe the amount of incredible food we got for just $15 on their lunch special. Each of us ended up with a main dish in addition to 6 other sides. A couple of the sides I didn't love but everything else was excellent, especially the chicken curry and kheer. Great vegetarian options. Beautiful interior. Our server was stretched thin over several tables but was still gracious and accomodating. We ended up with plenty of leftovers so we got to enjoy it the next day as well!“

“We were so happy to discover this restaurant, being non-traditional folks around Thanksgiving time. The owner is unfortunately leaving after 33 years - but not yet! While you still can, give this wonderful local business a try. Excellent sauces, service, spices, wonderful Chai tea. Very cozy.“

“Large buffet of slightly below average and very salty yet mildly-spiced Indian food. I liked it because I like most Indian food, but I don't think I'll be back soon. But maybe you should try it if you wanna eat a lot for 20 bucks. My favorites were the veg dishes especially the eggplant, the lamb meatballs, the pakoras, and you can't go wrong with the mango ice cream machine!“

“Shocked to see so many negative reviews, honestly. My SO got lamb vindaloo and a mango lassi from this cart and thought it was an absolute banger of a meal. It looked great to me—really thick, rich sauce and lots of nice, juicy looking chunks of lamb with a healthy portion of fluffy rice. Great price and portion because he had some to take home for later, as he could not finish the whole thing! I watched him get his order taken and the guy at the counter seemed lovely.“

“The food was very good and they have aor of vegetarian options, which is awesome. The wait was very long but the food was delicious. These carts don't have much ambiance but there are a lot of choices which is nice. I would recommend this cart if you are a vegetarian. I got the veggie coconut korma mild, it was awesome.“

“Happened to be in Vancouver at dinner time, this place is a block off tge larger road, but eas y to find and easy to get back on the highway. Nice staff and clean, pleasant dining room. First Indian cuisine in 40 years, and very tasty. We got veggie Somosa, naan, and goat vindaloo. Very good, meat super tender and spices in every thing well balanced. Recommend stopping by for dinner.“
