“I’ve been a regular since the cafe first opened. Everything I’ve tried has been delicious. I love that it is an important part of McFarland history. Such a great place to meet a friend. Very surprised at the negative reviews. Please support this local restaurant owned by a McFarland’s family.“
“I think it was one of the Mc Donalds I liked the most! everything was great and tasty, perfect for my hours-long trip on the road, and the service was exceptional, a very friendly and patient guy served me. Nothing better than good food and pleasant service.“
“Donuts are fresh and delicious. Food is all delicious and made to order. Highly recommend. Service has always been exceptional, until today. This morning's visit was very different than our previous visits. We arrived to get donuts and some coffees, the restaurant was bustling, no wait. My husband inquired if they had yeast raised donuts, we got a response, "These donuts are all cake donuts." from the woman taking our order. Very short tone layered with annoyance. We then started our order. Again, my husband asked for half a dozen hot n' fresh donuts. She again with an annoyed tone asked, "What flavor??" I responded, "Cinnamon Sugar, please." She packed our donuts in a small box. They smelled divine, we were so excited. We decided to get 6 more glazed donuts, my husband asked, "We'd like 6 glazed, 3 regular glazed..." He was interrupted by the woman behind the counter, who snapped, "SO, YOU ACTUALLY WANT A DOZEN DONUTS?" We were stunned, we stood there for a moment unsure what to say. My husband responded, "Yes, 3 regular glazed and 3 chocolate glazed." She then grabbed a large box for a dozen or more donuts, literally opened our box of six hot and fresh Cinnamon sugar donuts and forcefully dump threw them in the box. Then, rearranged them and got our other 6 donuts. We were stunned by the rude tone and frustration that was shown to us on our visit today. We decided to pay and leave instead of oredering coffees to go with our morning treat. This experience this morning really soured our donuts and also have us questioning whether or not we will return. Sharing in case this is a chronic problem or in case we were singled out for some reason. Hoping all the patrons inside and those who walked in after us didn't experience the same level of disrespect to their food or in the treatment.“
“Discovered this truly hidden gem while we were at a training last month… we visited every day that week and can’t stop thinking about the awesome miel they made me and that spiced pear vegan donut!! If you are in the area or happen to be fortunate enough to live close… RUN RUN RUN and try just about anything they have because it’s all just splendid!“
“Fantastic service by Mathias, it’s not very often that I give a 25% tip but he truly deserved it. Food was so delish, fast, and fresh! Highly recommend the Spicy garlic edamame and pork buns to start. We had the lobster dumplings which were equally as delicious. We will be back.“
“I absolutely love this place! Last year when I moved to Madison, I discovered this place while waiting for a table at Ha Long Bay and I have been obsessed ever since. Although a bit on the pricy side, the pastries are absolutely phenomenal and definitely some of the best I've had. I love the Gruyère croissant, the mini butter cakes with lemon curd and raspberry white chocolate, and the raspberry frangipane. The breads are also amazing. Highly recommend the scali loaf and if you happen to go on a Friday, the challah is amazing!“
“Finca Coffee is a great place to come relax, work, and meet up with friends. This unique cafe/ restaurant not only has a delicious menu from El Salvador but also brings with it the home-like cozy vibe of coming home to friends and family. I love returning here and exchanging greetings with the friendly owners. Also, they're looking for another barista so if you're looking to work with some great people, give them a call. I can't overstate how much I like this place.“
“I've had coffee from Madison to the Middle East, and some places in between. Mercies does not fall near the low end of my list. In fact, they exceed my expectations with every drink, and even amaze me with their dedication to making sure that each cup of coffee is prepared in excellence. If they weren't darn good at what they are doing, I would have no reason to keep coming back!“
“These cookies are an absolute delight! So many other sugar cookies I have tried before may have looked pretty, but were hard as a rock. Reverie Baking Co. makes their cookies to be so soft & delicious, & the thoughtful packaging made sure each one arrived perfectly intact!“
“Friendly, comfortable, and welcoming. Came on a Sunday for lunch. I was able to find parking on the street and come right in. I ordered the firefly wrap, the special shamrock shake, and a couple pastries for later. The wrap was brought to the table and was stuffed with tons of chicken and avocado. It seemed hearty enough that it could be split between two people if desired. Great flavor. Love that there is plenty of space and seating even on a weekend at lunch. This was my first time here and I hope to be back soon!“
“You must try their unique options. My wife and I enjoy it for brunch on occasion. The chocolate caramel sea salt something was delicious and something with bacon and possibly cherry redeaux.Edit for 2024: Still great. Braised beef crepe is worth it.“
“My husband and I swung by Bodihow this morning for breakfast and it was AMAZING. He had breakfast tacos and I had the breakfast bowl. The waitress was great with explaining the various meat options and the salsa options. We were so impressed and can’t wait for our next opportunity to visit Bodihow.“
“Forward Craft & Coffee is my preferred spot for work and meetings, thanks to its excellent beer and coffee selection and consistently friendly staff. The place is well-managed, creating a perfect setting for both productivity and relaxation.“
“I recently stopped at the Lakeside when I was in Madison. This is a great coffee shop! Gorgeous views, lots of space. My yogurt and granola bowl was awesome and super filling. I wish we would have tried baked goods, but they were sold out! I would highly recommend coming here to meet a friend or to study.“
“This place is amazing! Some of the best boba I’ve had in a while. I got strawberry red tea with mango jellies, and there weren’t too few mango jellies and the tea was delicious, tasted like red tea (of course) with linings of strawberry, if that makes sense. The jellies were delicious and despite being rectangle shaped, didn’t cause any issues with the straw. A week after I came back to try their mango green tea, and I usually don’t order a lot of mango flavored things (normally because artificial flavoring for mango tastes like melon), and it tastes just like mango! I probably shouldn’t be as excited as I am right now but artificial mango broke my trust in mango flavored snacks and drinks. For those of you complaining about long wait and the place being filled with “kids”, that’s because East High School is a good 13 minute walk away. I would say 12:00 - 1:00pm is the busiest it gets on weekdays, since I’m assuming that’s when their lunch is? The kids are surprisingly not as disturbing as you would think, though. I spent about $6 per drink so the prices aren’t bad! Can’t wait to come again ❤️“
“North Street is an actual gem. What's more to want with coffee, pastry, and beer all under one roof. Well - I do wish that Bloom offered more options similar to their Monroe street location. And I wish the coffee and pastry was open later into the evenings so I could have a pastry with my beer. But other than that the place is perfection! There's plenty of indoor seating and outdoor seating in the warmer months. Parking may seem daunting but honestly there's always plenty of street parking not too far.“
“Visited Wildwood Cafe for the first time and while it's a small little place, the setup is welcoming and there was reasonable space for seating. Coffee was good - I loved the seasonal offerings (personally had the bourbon maple latte and it was delish!). My friend also tried the GF pumpkin bar and really enjoyed that. While I don't get to Stoughton often, I will definitely visit again in the future!“
“It's a nice and simple cafe. The place had a good vibe. One should order in the front counter and take a seat. Food will be delivered to you. I went during noon for lunch. The place was not too busy. I went for a full Paul's palmeni and it was delicious as always. Without customization it came 50/50 potato and beef and had works on it. That was nice. Chipotle chicken sandwich was flavorful as well. Raspberry truffle mocha was a good drink to try. I tried a cranberry orange bread from the display, which was good as well.“
“Tati is great! From chocolate shoppe ice cream to a hot lunch menu, plus coffee, beer and wine - there’s something for everyone. They also have a little collection of local makers gifts and trinkets. There’s a small convenience store section - super handy for the folks that live in the Terravessa neighborhood.“
“I’ve been to the university location, but I have to say I prefer this location better. It’s stroller friendly! And I’ve come here with my little one before.Anyway, the food, pastries are always delicious at Ancora.Their matcha honey latte is delicious.I’ve had their Hella Stella Sandwich obviously! I’ve also had the eggs Benedict and they’re SO good“
“Came here after researching the "best coffee in Madison." I only got their pour over, so that's all I can speak for. It was cheap as well as delicious. Actual good coffee places can be hard to come by, and this is definitely one of them. I loved the atmosphere as well as the wooden interior. I'm definitely coming back next time I'm in Madison.“
“I’ve been to Michelangelo’s more times than I can count to be honest. Time and time again I love it.Finally writing a review because I decided to have the black bean burger and after one bite I realized I’ve never given this place the 5 stars it deserves. I’ve always felt comfortable here. It’s like a nice little recluse for me and seems to always have the most wonderful atmosphere.Consistently delicious food AND drinks. It seems to attract good people and has kind staff as well.Today I’m also having the espresso miel w/ oat milk. Not only does it smell amazing, it also tastes great.I never do take out from here. Always dine in! The atmosphere and art are a part of it.I cannot rave enough over how much I love this place. It will forever hold a special place in my heart :)Vegetarian options: Plenty of options and substitutes.Dietary restrictions: Lots of vegan and vegetarian options!“
“My daily local coffeehouse when I’m in town, which is a couple times annually. Still feels like I’m a local when remembered by the barista from visit to visit. Love the ambiance, the coffee and the baked goods. Bought two art pieces in August from the monthly artist exhibits they do. Love to just hang out here and chill in the window seat with a book and watch the world go by.“
“I really love this place for the cozy community atmosphere and I come here often. Generally I’m really happy with the quality of food for the price. However, recently I got a panini for $11 and felt it was over priced considering there was only one slice of meet and 2 tomato slices in the panini with a side of chips.“
“Hands down one of my favorite coffee places!! Many drink options as well as pastries that are to die for! The customer service there is also top notch on making you feel welcomed and helping find the best drink for you! If you’re in a rush, order online ahead and start your day off amazing!!“
“Cute atmosphere. A little overpriced. Chicken Taco way over seasoned . Recommend adding simple tacos for children or others that enjoy the basic taco. Bandito delicious ! I’ve never been where you have to pay for chips & salsa . Adding in fountain soda would be a plus .“
“My favorite coffee shop in Madison! I have a severe gluten allergy and they were very accommodating and knowledgeable, and made me a breakfast sandwich with a gluten free bagel in the oven instead of the panini press to avoid cross contamination. The coffee is incredible and if you can manage to get a table, the environment is awesome.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free bagels/breakfast sandwiches“
“Cafe domestique serves some of the best espresso in town. Both the Northstreet location and the original have great cafe drinks— my go to is the iced vanilla latte! Space in this cafe is a little tight, so if you’re looking to hunker down and get some work done for a few hours this probably isn’t the right place, but i do love a quick stay to read a chapter or two of a book in their bright and airy space!“
“Absolutely love this coffee and the atmosphere in this place. I would highly recommend this place for the most delicious coffee in Madison and potentially on my top 5 in the nation (I travel for work). It's so very cute and clean inside the shop. Most all of the workers are very friendly too! The breakfast bagel sandwich is also to die for. I do miss their full meal menu, but the pastries are delicious when I need a pick-me-up. I'm a regular visitor and come in at least twice a week as well as consuming their coffee at home! However, the downfall is their loyalty program... after 10 stamps (separate visit purchase trips) I only get $2 off??????? It's quite ridiculous for the amount of money I spend there that makes myself and others reconsider going there when on a budget. I would love for them to at least make it $5 or a free coffee. $2 will not even buy a regular coffee nowadays.Beyond that Wonderstate is amazing and I highly recommend you check them out“
“This MOKA makes the best road warrior and they are consistent. They always showcase a positive attitude and are quick with the orders.Vegetarian options: They have a really good veggie breakfast burrito for on the go. Get it with the Chalula sauce“
“The coffee here is the BOMB!! Fresh roasted and so freaking good! If you want to get quality coffee by the pound for a deal (make that steal!) this is the place to go. Whole bean, but they will grind it fresh for you. My husband takes this by the pound to his office as everyone there has deemed this the best coffee. Fabulous espresso for our home machine too. Seriously - you have to try the coffee from here - sooooo good! There are pastries, some are GF, some light sandwiches, egg sandwiches or a breakfast burrito too.“
“Happy to see this new location thriving! Coffee is good with variety of options available but not too many it becomes overwhelming - lots of options for tea drinkers as well! The food is amazing - highly recommend the Java Club as it was one of the best sandwiches i've had in a while - and in a market with ever increasing prices this place feels very fairly priced for what you get. Coupled with the fun atmosphere and art on the walls highly recommend checking this place out.Note that parking can be difficult - if busy times of the day parking across the street is much easier than hoping you can find a spot in the tiny parking lot“
“Nice little Asian themed tea shop with a variety of tea bases along with any combination you prefer. We got macha tea and gong fu, both were very tasty with the latter taking some skill to pour. The service here is awesome though, the waitresses will teach you the technique if you don't already know how. They also serve decent lunch, we got the beef noodle broth which was very rich and flavorful but lacking an authentic taste. We also got pork meat baos, they were more average with non-exciting flavors. The other downside are the small portion sizes.Overall great experience, would recommend for the tea and some food items since there's a paucity of Asian cuisines in Madison. Good ambience and service!“
“Staff are always so welcoming and helpful. Really good speciality coffee selection (they have homemade sugar-free syrups that are delicious!). It's a small place so it's not my favorite to sit around and lounge at, and the line can sometimes go out the door so be prepared to wait on busy mornings, but overall great spot!“
“Absolutely wonderful stay. The Edgewater is beautiful and the staff very accommodating and respectful. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a spectacular view.We also enjoyed walking to the beach and docks with the Grandkids. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience!!“
“This is a solid spot for coffee in town. I don’t visit often because it can be busy with college students and hard to find seating, but the coffee is good and it’s fun to get coffee and walk through campus or to the lake! Parking is available a few blocks away on garages or on the street, so be prepared to navigate that!“
“Stopped today between work meetings for a quick bite and a bit of caffeine. Staff are amazing. The gentleman working the front desk even remembered my name when I came up to get a couple items to go. Great environment, easy parking, and attentive staff.“
“I have been customer at this location for years, they are very nice and their drinks are great! Their specials are so creative and they have started to put art up around the lobby. The people working there are just so kind, over the years there have been a few times where they comped items even though they really did not have to. Everyone there is just so pleasant, even when they are very busy, and it seems like they are kind to each other which is very nice to hear! From what I see they do everything in their power to have the best service and atmosphere they can, I go there when I need a pick me up and it always works!“
“Good News' lavender and honey ice cream was absolutely amazing! The unique flavor combination was a delightful surprise. The shop's cool ambiance added to the experience, and the friendly attendant offered great suggestions. With outdoor seating, it's a perfect post-dinner treat after dining in nearby restaurants. I didn't even have time to take a photo because it was so good! A must-try dessert spot!“
“Pretty chill vibe. Got a café au lait with oat milk, nothing groundbreaking but was pretty good. Sat by the fireplace reading for over an hour, place has a good atmosphere. Pastries looked a bit dry so I didn't get any, but the sandwiches looked pretty good. Id come back if I'm in the area.“
“Came here for breakfast. I was excited for crepes, but wasn't excited about the choices. I would have liked to see an asparagusy- goat cheesy option. I ended up choosing the Crepe Supreme, which should have been called a southwest crepe. The filling was quite good, but didn't work with the crepe exterior. It should have been a tortilla. My matcha was fine- I've had better, I've had worse. All in all, I think the food was good enough for a return trip.“
“Chose Main Street Kitchen to cater a birthday party. Very helpful when selecting items and quantiles. Everything arrived fresh, hot and on time. Owner personally delivered and set up food. Stayed around to make sure everything was perfect. Upon end of event they packed and cleaned everything. Highly recommended.“
“I highly recommend Autumn Pearl. Great selection of coffees, smoothies, and baked goods. Very friendly staff. Warm, welcoming atmosphere. Great place to sit down for a coffee alone or with a friend. Nice location right on Main Street--good for people-watching.“
“a true community space with excellent coffee and food. They are on a first-name basis with everyone in the neighborhood. Judging by the quality of the thoughtfully sourced ingredients, their suppliers are just as much family as their customers. if you miss human interaction and home-style food, this is your coffee shop.“
“It was very busy on a Saturday. We ordered two coffee flights and someone took them. We got refunded for one because they didn't have cups to make the second one. My food buzzer went off and it wasn't my order. I felt like things didn't go as smoothly as it should have. Just letting people know where to pick up drinks and food would be nice. I was not aware to pick up my drink at the end.Five Stars though, the vibe is amazing, food was great, coffee was awesome, and staff was very friendly. The live music on Saturday made the experience extra special. The decor was beautiful and the fall decorations made it feel like a comfortable place. I will definitely be back!“
“Love this place! Lots of seating, plus several small rooms that can be booked for free for meetings, including one specifically set up for podcast recording! Great selection of drinks and locally made baked goods, including the incredible vegan Level 5 donuts.“
“Good food choices, Mom and Pop type business, good coffee and atmosphere to relax, use your laptop. The only issue I have is that they should add more charging ports and outlets because if it is busy, good luck finding an electrical outlet. Unlike in my generation, you need a battery, and a cord to function nowadays. LOL.“
“I like their coffee Columbian whole bean coffee,It use to be about $12.00 for a full LB ,unfortunately like everthing else ,they only offer 12 Oz bags of beans for $15.00 ,so a 1/4 lb less for 20% more is unacceptable .I'm looking at other alternatives.“
“Walleye and eggs? Who knew that this was a great combination. The perfect Wisconsin dive bar that is serving some pretty amazing food with a very limited kitchen. Have stopped for breakfast 2 times and the food and service can't be beat. And yes walleye for breakfast is amazing! The place is always packed so be patient and have a drink and enjoy the hometown atmosphere!“
