“If you’re ever in need of a late night Friday Night Fish Fry, the Squirrel’s Nest will not disappoint! My husband, mom, and I are visiting my grandma in Madison and needed to show my husband a real Wisconsin experience. We walked in at 8 PM and sat right down and ordered fried wall eye and hash browns with cheese and onions, also served with a dinner roll and cole slaw. They all had a Brandy Old Fashioned Sweet to drink of course. Everything tasted AMAZING and was exactly what we would’ve hoped for. We will definitely be back!“
“Coffee is nice and refreshing so farBreakfast menu looks decentJust placed my order got a Denver omelet with American cheese and add mushrooms to my omelet food was decent hashbrowns could use a bit more cooking time and omelet could use a bit more cheese. Overall I give Luke's Cafe a 4 out of 5 star“
“We traveled to Maple Tree on a recent Friday evening. We were quite surprised when we arrived a few minutes before 4pm and there was a line of about 15 people waiting to enter. My thoughts... Wow this place must have good food!! And it did!! We asked to be paged about an hour after we arrived so we could enjoy a cocktail or two. The bar was busy mostly serving brandy old fashioneds. Yummy, they were! After being seated at our table and providing our orders, we made our way to the salad bar. It was small, but had everything to make a nice salad... Everything was cold and fresh! Two soups were also available; fish chowder and cheeseburger. I did not have the soup but my friends did, and said they were good. Next up, our entrees. I chose the Friday fish fry. The cod was either lightly battered, beer battered or baked. I opted for the lightly battered. The two nice sized cod filets were served as ordered, lightly battered and very tasty. It was served with a choice of potato. One of my friends had the broasted chicken and the other a rib eye. Both came as ordered and looked delicious. The wait staff was quite busy but attentive. Everything was great... We will be back!!!Kid-friendliness: They do have a children's menu with fair pricing“
“Great lanes and equipment! 15 of us bowled during a company party and the computers worked flawlessly. We enjoyed the graphics- especially the bowling tips. They have plenty of ramps for little kids. We enjoyed all of the food: pizza, potato skins, and nachos.I had a difficult time finding an ideal ball (10#), most of the balls were either 8# or 13#. This was a very popular place for kid's on a Sunday afternoon. As this was a family event, we fit right in. If you don't enjoy noisy children, you may want to stick to evening bowling.“
“We've been visiting this Culver's for about 16 years and, while it's still a standard for us, unfortunately the service continues to deteriorate. Almost every other visit now at least one item is wrong or missing (we can't just count items - we have to open and inspect each one before leaving), and lately when I go back to correct the order I hardly even get an apology. The people are still very nice, but service is very much going in the wrong direction.“
“Wonderful experience for dinner at Salvatore’s, E Wash & Livingston, Madison, WI.Crispy Calabrese Tofu was exquisite. Pizza great! Manda’s service was above and beyond. She was great with my 7 year old granddaughter!Vegetarian options: Crispy Calabrese Tofu exquisite!“
“WOWWWW! As a non-vegan, I was definitely skeptical of this restaurant, but that was my mistake. This is one of the very best restaurants in all of Madison. It was so good that I went twice in one week because I couldn't stop thinking about how fantastic the food was! The service was excellent and Juan, the chef, made our experience super memorable. Make sure to get the chickpea paneer and the bao, they are both to die for! I'll be coming back (maybe again next week haha) and plan on taking all of my friends and family there to impress them. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough! Thank you to the staff for such an amazing dinner!!“
“RED on W. Washington in Madison is a fun place for delicious food and drinks. The restaurant has a very cool big city vibe. We didn't have reservations but they were able to seat us at the sushi bar which we were thankful since it was a Saturday night. Plus it was fun to watch the sushi chef.We got the following :Appetizers:HEAD-ON SKULL ISLANDPRAWNSGinger, garlic, Fresno pepper, brown butter pankoYellowtail sashimiFresh water eel nigiriRolls:SALMON LOVERSpicy salmon, avocado, cucumber. “Went here for Sunday brunch. Food really great, service excellent, my only real complaint, and it's not really a complaint really, just a preference, is that I wish they would have had an espresso maker. I do love me some lattes or other freshly made coffee drinks on Sunday morning. Otherwise really enjoyed it and the price was totally fair for what you receive.“
“The restaurant is small, so the dining experience feels exclusive and intimate. The service we had was warm and inviting. The server never made us feel rushed, while also checking in on us from time to time (I wish I remembered her name, but shoutout to her!). The food was coursed out by the server/kitchen and was perfect timing for everything (not that we were in a time constraint, it was just nice the pace they did). The food was DELICIOUS! Their beet salad is probably my favorite beet salad in Madison. I had the rabbit and my partner had the cod, which were both so flavorful.“
“I personally had a wonderful experience planning working with Momo's when we had our Lunar New Year on 02/13/24. They exceed expectations from the food that they provided, space, and decorations. I would love to plan another event there in the future. If you're looking for a venue to have your next event, with a centralized location, give them a call.“
“It's a very cute little Bakery. The one thing I really like about it is that at Christmas time they actually make Norwegian cookies. And I look forward to having some this year since I am from Norwegian descendants. They also have Colectivo Coffee there which I love collectivo coffee because it originated from Milwaukee and I go to collectivo all the time so they have very top-notch coffee. Stoughton is a cute little town that represents Norwegian heritage and I really really like going there.“
“Have heard a lot of good things about this restaurant. Overall we had a good time there and the food was good but I feel it’s a bit overpriced. The presentation was great but the flavor was just not to our liking. It’s a restaurant good for a date night with wonderful view and atmosphere.“
“Never had a bad meal at Koffee Kup. The food is reasonably priced but punches above its weight. It’s always been busy when I’ve visited on weekend mornings but service has been good (the staff always remember my friend’s identical order). I’d recommend the waffles and anything with the chorizo.“
“Madison's on King Street in downtown Madison is always a great place for food, drinks, and hanging out with friends or coworkers. It's one of my favorite spots for happy hour. They have a great happy hour menu and it's from 4-6pm Tuesday thru Friday. Their spicy margarita and dry rubbed wings are delicious!“
“The food here is excellent (I've been about five times now), but I've noticed that "small Plates" seems to have become "tiny plates." My husband and I and another couple each spent $100, and I can't say I was satisfed. Not sure I will return. . . .“
“Best place to go for a meal. 6am til 2pm (That is understatement) located in Cottage Grove in a tiny spot that resembles the old fashion eatery.Has the old fashion services from experienced waitress and you get a good amount of food for you pay. Highly highly recommend!! ❤️❤️Vegetarian options: A fewDietary restrictions: Let them know!Parking: LimitedKid-friendliness: Plenty of selectionWheelchair accessibility: There is none“
“My company had thier holiday party here recently, I had never been before. What a beautiful establishment and great location! The staff was great, friendly and fast, I never waited longer than a few minutes for a drink. The food was fantastic and the presentation was beautiful. I would highly recommend stopping in or arranging a moderately sized event here. Try the Pear martini (Pear Tin Rug ?) it is amazing. Thanks, Heritage Tavern, for making the night a success! You guys ROCK!“
“Best old school diner in the Madison area. I've eaten here (usually with my family) MANY times. Food is consistently good. Service is friendly and welcoming. Prices are affordable. What's not to love?! We usually are here for breakfast, but if you're getting lunch, try their fries!“
“It was so busy on weekend morning that I was surprised when I got the food at about what felt like faster than a normal restaurant experience. Delicious sweet potato hash browns. The young staff were very friendly and energetic. Relaxing painted dining area with nice decorations. Can be a little noisy even with a high ceiling because a lot of the customers talk but I assume it’s because they feel comfortable and cozy and also there a a lot of tables in the space“
“The beer was great - nice on tap selection - the atmosphere was nice as it is a good-sized pub, 2 piece live duo act on a Friday night, and our female server was attentive, helpful & friendly, even if her attire was more appropriate as pajamas. Brian, another "server," was less friendly and, in fact, could be considered "surly." Aside from Brian, Bierock is a "recommend!"“
“I decided to come here with a couple friends tonight and it was amazing! Our server Derrick was awesome and has a great personality! We enjoyed the bacon wrapped jalapeños which are a must have as well as some awesome entrees! I have to say this location is beautiful and worth the wait if you want to visit this location! All of the staff are awesome and willing to meet any needs we had! One of the managers Mason came and checked on us and was very nice and funny which added to the experience we had here tonight! We will definitely be back for the atmosphere, food and great staff! A must go in the Madison area!“
“I havent ate all my food in a long time. Cinnamon French Toast breakfast with bacon and 1 b&g. Wow. It was so good I got a Chicken Fried Chicken togo. Here in town for 2 more nights and i will probably be back. Very good food! And to think the last place turned me away cuz of time; otherwise i had not came here. Great Food!“
“We took a niece and her young children - who have numerous food allergies - and we're able to get excellent meals because of the excellent manner in which the menu lists the ingredients. All of the food was well-prepared and tasty and the service was first-rate, too. We have to go back!“
“Coming in at 8pm on Friday was the perfect time. Appetizers are around 6$ each (x3). dinners less than 15$ each (x2). And 4 cans of beer the bill wasn't even 60$. I'm impressed and would gladly come back. The fish fry was excellent, shrimp was excellent. And the coleslaw paired well to the fish! I walked out full and happy.Parking: The lot fits the needs of the bar.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs“
“Recently stopped in for dinner with an out-of-town friend. Outstanding service! Elyse was AMAZING and took great care of us. The food was wonderful, with special mention of the smash burger - honestly one of the best burgers I've ever had - no joke! Great drinks, great food, well worth the visit.“
“THE BEST fish fry I have ever had!The fish is superb. Three of five of us had a more than ample serving of the walleye, baked potato & cole slaw & all agreed it was great. The Friday night atmosphere is CROWDED, busy & the cacophony such that conversation is impossible. The prices are reasonable. The bartender is aloof, difficult to flag down & challenged by a simple register transaction. The cook is non-stop busy with all of the orders. The server is very cordial under the high-pressure atmosphere, so kudos to her! Overall, pretty good experience & the fish - to die for!FISH: *recommended! *Parking: Few spots in the lot.“
“Bustling area of Madison with great service and excellent food. This place has charm of an old Wisconsin tavern, love the new cozy space added inside. The brunch menu, Pastrami Hash, chef's kiss! Enjoy having the self service station for water/coffee.“
“Luckys- where do i start. this is the best bar in madison. the food is great but the atmosphere is even better. they have specials for everyday of the week, and the music turned up for the perfect jam sesh. good for a chill night or a wild night out.“
“Nice location, quick service despite busy, and good food, reasonable prices. Only thing I thought was extremely weird was the “side greens” pile you could order and came with absolutely no salad dressing. You definitely could afford and I’d pay a few cents extra for a single cucumber slice, cherry tomato, and some shaved carrot. Overall I’d come back, and I’d tell others to go too.“
“The bartenders are top notch at Players. This has my favorite burger in Madison, the cheesecurd burger, especially if Charlie or Wip makes it ❤️ only complaint is bar machines are really tight, the parking is terrible, and it's always crowded because it's super small. Worth it though for the food and drinks!“
“If you are looking for a fun dining experience, it is a fairly nice option. The vibe is pretty friendly and casual; the plating is beautiful. However, when it comes to food I feel like (at least for our menu) they tried to put too many strong flavors on one dish and these are not always balanced. Sometimes too salty, too sour, or too sweet. (Especially the Mac and Cheese with pine and pretzel, way too much salt!! I can appreciate very strong cheese but it should be paired with something plain, not melted entirely as a cream sauce where the high salt almost tasted bitter and caused dizziness.) Among the 12 dishes, 2/12 really good appetizers raised expectations and 6/12 tasted OK, except that 1/12 was uneatable, 3/12 were a little disappointed concerning the flavor. I mean, it's definitely not a bad place as a cozy & creative family-owned restaurant, but it do need re-polishing for the menu.“
“Different twist on classic supper club offerings, but all delicious.Pork chop with cherry compote was superb. Had the charred carrots based on reviews and they did not disappoint, unusual and delicious. The burnt apple jam cake was absolutely amazing.“
“The food is delicious and the people who work there are wonderful. We had a sandwich and cupcakes. You kind of feel at home there. They have a toy corner for kids too!I'd wish the toys were cleaned once in a while. They were very sticky and had crusty dirt on them. I honestly was a bit grossed out by them but on the other hand I'm grateful that they thought of kids too!“
“I am an international student and live around the area. The Main Depot is a heritage bar. Its more than a bar, its a community of people of all ages. Undoubtedly the kindest people I have met at any spot in my 2 years in America.P.S**** = If you are lucky you can see trains passing from the bench on the backside. Enjoy ;)“
“This past Saturday I took my son to get his haircut next door at Mr Rudd's Barbershop and we had a few minutes to spare and a VERY hungry 4 year old's mouth to feed so we stopped in for some DELICIOUS food!!! (My third time, and I aint stopping!)We got chips and salsa (Holy cow that was good) and a bean/onion & rice quesadilla (DROOOOLING on the goodness!)My son can be super picky but he scarfed the quesadilla down! There were two other groups of people eating here for the first time and all you could hear from them was "Wow, oh my god, this is amazing, I didn't know this place was here!", and on and on.This is THAT PLACE that you refer to when you tell a friend 'I know a place with THE BEST food!".Taste buds watch out, Arod's is coming for you, and you're going to fall in love. boom“
“This place has some of the BEST coffee in Madison. But the real reason I'll keep coming back is because of the OUTSTANDING customer service. Lucy remembered me and my coffee order after only one visit!! This will forever be one of my favorite spots!“
“We held our wedding reception at The Madison Club and we highly recommend it to other couples! We loved the classic, timeless, and memorable look and feel of the Club itself, central location downtown, and found it especially beneficial that they offered so many wedding services. From catering (cake included in our selected package), beverages, tables, chairs, linens, place settings, day-of getting ready spaces, and an on-site event coordinator. This was very important to us as we didn't want to have even more vendors to coordinate with, and the Club being a "one stop shop" was incredibly helpful in simplifying our planning. They have so many options to choose from so you can offer more classic wedding meals or something a little more adventurous (which we did and loved). The food is truly delicious! They also provide a list of vendors recommended by the Club and we were able to work with a few of them for our day. Alex, our event coordinator, was so responsive, patient, and accommodating throughout our planning process which entailed many emails, questions, and changes :) He was amazing to work with! We were so pleased with how everything turned out and we will cherish the memories made at The Madison Club forever.“
“I've been here before for dinner, but we met friends for beers & appetizers on a Thursday about 430pm.Great selection of beers on tap & we ordered deep frued cheese curds & mushrooms & melted goat cheese with slivers of red peppers, garlic cloves & onions served with toasted bread slices. All three appetizers were great, most especially the goat cheese, except it would have been nice to have more bread served with it.Our server was pleasant, prompt, & humorous. The atmosphere is a bit loud for conversation but it's a smaller place & generally busy.*recommend*“
“I dont usually give out 5 star reviews, but this place earned it. The food is always on point, the staff are always attentive and friendly, and how can you best the view (especially with a little one)? Also, finally a restaurant that can do proper biscuits n gravy!“
“Stopped in for lunch with family and was warmly greeted. Beautiful resturant with a full bar with slot machines and darts. Several different rooms available. It appeared they were setting up for a wedding in a separate party room. It looked lovely. We sat in a room with a view of the water. Look forward to coming back in the summer so we can sit outside. The family ordered bloody Marys which they said were good. We had steak sandwiches which were tasty. Our waiter was friendly and efficient!“
“Extremely good and good behavior from the stuff . Everything is worth it . Friday fish fires are great . I would highly recommend the spinach artichoke dip . Beers are good . Burgers are good . From the side I would recommend thunderbolts . Very very happy and satisfied .“
“Been here a handful of times and never disappointed. Had not had the clam chowder before. Maybe the best I’ve had anywhere in the country with all due respect to all the Baltimore/East coast and west coasters. Obviously always comes down to choice but really nice balance of viscosity and flavor without being so creamy all it becomes is cream soup with potatoes and chunks of clams. I almost cancelled the fish and just got more soup…lake perch was a little undercooked but I knew I should’ve said ‘well done’ cuz they were busy, but didnt. Call that my fault. Fish was solid, clean and flavorful and not greasy or over breaded. Perfect level of batter, they just got antsy.“
“Really good atmosphere, super kind staff. The jam pretzel burger special was fire. Square cheese curds, strange shape, very tasty. I would definitely come back to this spot. They served an adequately liquored up drink and did it with a smile. I may have found my new "local" as they say out in the Midwest. ALL good here.“
“A wonderful familly facility. Sunfilled sports and events venue, traven area, good family food choices (burgers, wraps, salad, and the best french fries we've had in a traven setting). We'd go back just for the fries. Top notch, helpful and friendly staff. We were there doing an event in the events venue. Lots of free parking. Easy to find. Just off the Interstate. Perfect spot for our event.“
“I like the place a lot. I've been there in the evening before but never for brunch. My potatoes were wildly overcooked, but the breakfast burrito was delicious. We waited a LONG time after we got our food for our server to return, but he never did until I called out to him. As if we'd disappeared. So that was weird and a little irritating.“
“We were on a trip through Madison I asked my wife to “just search for best breakfast in town” and what a treat we found called Monte’s Blue Plate Dinner. Our experience was beyond our wildest expectations…. Excellent service, food was hot and had very good flavor profiles.“
“If you don't like Lola's you must be the only one in Madison. I know because everytime I have gone to Lola's everyone in Madison is trying to get in there. The atmosphere is terrific, the drinks are great and the food is basic but very creative. Try it, you'll like it!“
“First time dining and I would definitely come back. We had Beef Chimichanga (which was big!) and the Cajun Hash. Both were great and flavorful. I am happy with my decision to stop in!-Warm and cozy atmosphere,-Our waitress Samantha was great! Hostess too!-Plenty of TV optionsKid-friendliness: Seen small children, doesn't seem like it's a overstimulating atmosphere which makes it kids friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: Disabled parking and ramp right by the door.“
“Always enjoy the food, fish, and steak. Breakfast choices are good. Ate at the bar. Our bartender lacked service skills. We felt ignored. Like the supper club feel. Love the lake views.Parking: May need to park on the street. Restaurant has limited parking due to lake.“
