“6 of us,, 3 Ordered the chicken Alfredo it's the Thursday special however its not on the in house menu, it was good,2 Ordered Philly cheese steak sandwich,was very dry, menu said served with aujus however the menu isn't updated so no aujus.1 Ordered a burger it was OK, it took one hour to get our order.This is another one of those are you a bar or a restaurant? I would like to try other food options but need an updated menu, maybe they could just make prints off the one on the internet for in house?? Maybe precook some items so it doesn't take as long to get the food out. Pricey.Same music and TV scene over and over and over. Might be back???“

“Great local place to stop for a bite to eat. Great food, excellent service. Well worth a stop if you want good tavern food and you're passing through. Wife and I had the turkey wrap, excellent smoked flavor, great option on a hot day. My boys had cheeseburgers and loved them. Everything was top notch.“

“My Husband and I chose the Old School House to host our wedding reception for about 140 guests and it could not have been a more perfect day. The owner Kristin and her staff went above and beyond to make sure our day was nothing short of amazing. Kristin was very responsive to questions and requests all through the planning process. She was very flexible and fantastic to work with, especially a bride that had a ton of questions! This venue included a cute bridal suite for my husband and I to spend the night in. There is also a huge renovated barn to rent as additional sleeping/stay for guests. My family rented this and the place was so cool and just a short walk to get to from the venue. The Old School House is so unique and historic. We received so many compliments from our guests that we chose such a neat place to get married. Kristin and her staff had the venue set up for us just how we wanted it and had planted flowers and freshened up the landscaping just in time for our big day. It was beautiful. There is a room downstairs for the ladies to get ready and the red caboose outside for the guys to get ready. Our guests loved walking around the property and finding so many cool spots to hang out and explore. There is also a little game room and playset for kids to enjoy. We also had late night pizza come out for our guests and everyone LOVED it! It was handmade there by the staff and it was delicious! Fully stocked bar and awesome bartenders that worked their butts off! Devil's Head Resort is just down the road for guests to stay as well. I could not recommend this venue enough for your next event - you won't be disappointed!“

“We love the pizza and up until yesterday 4/22/22 we encountered the first time the sausage was not the same. We think it was precooked and what was great tasting sausage before turned out to be totally different in taste. Only other explanation is a new sausage supplier. We will order only pepperoni in the future.“

“We stopped by for a simple ice cream treat and found so much more to enjoy! they have a wide variety of choices for ice cream, even Hawaiian Ice. We're surprised to find that The Merrimac Scoop has amazing pizza too! The thin, crisp crust is delicious! The Mac and Cheese pizza is a must have! Loaded with 3 types of creamy cheese and crispy bacon, it is just amazing! To top it all off, they have an all new picnic area that includes several tables with shady umbrellas and even a place to play bean bags. Definitely stop and enjoy all that The Scoop has to offer!“

“Had lunch there on a Tuesday after hiking at Devil’sLake and it was fantastic! Waitress and hostess were super friendly and very helpful. We originally wanted to eat outside but after experiencing about a 35 mile gust of wind we moved inside. We had the Lollipop lamb chops with port wine reduction and it came with delicious sautéed veges. They were excellent! My friend ordered the Pear, prosciutto and Gorganzola cheese pizza which we shared and we both thought it might have been the best pizza we ever had and that’s saying a lot because we’ve had a lot of pizza’s in our 70+ years. Anyway can’t say enough about what a great experience it was. We will for sure be back!“

But enough about that..I'm an elderly lady prone to forgetfulness..and I inadvertantly left my purse that had a wallet given to me by my daughter and which means the world to me .I searched our house and called every place I thought I had left it. Finally texted The Rox and they had it! My gratitude to this wonderful restaurant!“
