We originally thought we were getting a regular table but they sat us in a separate room which we didn't mind at all just didn't expect. “So, my wife and I have visited quite a few winerys. My wife is really into it and I just kind of tag along, although I have learned a little bit in the last few years. I have to say that the wines at Balanced Rock are probably the best I have ever had! “The service and atmosphere here is very unique. The prices are fair and portions decent. Some things are hit and miss, but never terrible or mediocre. They do lack a bit of consistency sometimes with their recipes/dishes. The apple pancakes were the best I’ve ever had. Comfort food for sure!“

“We went this past sat with friends. 5 of us had drinks plus food. Were in no hurry and susie was busy.. former owner. Tamtam. (TAMMY) also off duty stepped in. We had so much fun. Plus the burgers were stellar. We all.loved our food ham n cheese plus the bacon burger roll ups. We got a couple great songs from susie. We cant wait to visit again. I'd say go. 5 of us plus drinks under 70.00. Run there and support your local small town establishment. I hope they remember us when we return. My mouth is already watering for a burger.“

“There's nothing like a great burger and if that's what you're craving, the Downtowner is the place to go! I try a different type of burger each time I go there and I've never been disappointed. This one was a pepper cheese burger. They use the highest quality meat available and they'll cook it to order. I had the "tots" and they were hot, crispy and well seasoned. I also had a whiskey old fashioned which was outstanding. Can't beat the prices either. A great way to treat yourself in a true Wisconsin tavern environment.“

As the restaurant has franchised I am still happy to see the original location holds this value of family owned. Definitely one of the best Authentic Mexican Restaurants in Wisconsin.
