Always the first place we stop when we come to Onalaska. I was fortunate to have a family who had a surprise birthday party for me at Red Pines. Best Birthday party!!! “The food is delicious! I’ve struggled to find good authentic Mexican in the area, but have craved it since living in L.A. 20 years ago. Taqueria Monarca has filled that craving. The restaurant is very clean and beautifully designed. Service is quick and friendly. We will certainly continue going back.”

“Today my son was at the Culver’s in Onalaska, WI by the high school for lunch. He had no money and had called to try to get money sent to his phone so he could eat with his friends. I called the store to see if I could pay for his food over the phone. The lady who answered explained that she couldn’t take payment over the phone but she would pay for his meal. I said I would pay her back and she said don’t worry about it. She met him by the ice cream cooler and paid for his meal. She was so kind and didn’t even think twice. For someone who probably had a lot more to worry about - like the 60+ kids in her lobby waiting for food, she stopped and used her own money to help my son out. Incredible! I didn’t quite catch her name so will be going in on Friday to see if I can find her to thank her! Incredible person!”

“This is a drive-up/walk-up only location and we drove thru. The staff was very friendly welcoming us through the speaker and waiting for us to decide. Once we got to the window, they were again friendly and kind and full of smiles. It made for a great start to our day!”

“Sandwiches have always been good. My husband and I enjoy them often. Today I went through the drive thru. We both always get no onions but there were some onions on my husband’s but not any on mine. When you don’t like onions and end up getting some it’s pretty disappointing. Kind of ruined it for him and just couldn’t finish it. I don’t know if some onion ended up in the lettuce or if they were put on his sandwich since mine didn’t have any. We didn’t eat until I got home with them so we weren’t going to go back and get a new sandwich.”

“On Saturday Jan 27, 2024 we went to Blue Moon for our 2nd round of Prime Rib. And once again it was fantastic. Ordered rare and large and it was cooked to perfection, and we got onion rings instead of potatoes. The salad however had a lettuce that I just couldn't eat. I'm not sure what lettuce variety it was, but it's not for me. Blue Moon is our "GO TO" for Prime Rib. It's 40 miles from Whitehall but we haven't found anywhere better.”

“This is the best bakery where I've ever shopped. I include in that bakeries from all over the country. Trevor constantly works on including new combinations and works with seasonal ingredients, but somehow manages to keep enough of the older favorites around so that they can be enjoyed as well. I don't generally eat scones or cinnamon rolls, but there is always a line for those items at the bakery. His bread is wonderful. I've taken it to friends who are bakers and they have raved about how great it is. The only issue is that the bakery is open for fairly limited hours -- however, that's probably good, as I'd probably overeat if it was open every day.”

“I'm not sure why, but Moka just has the best tasting coffee among the other local express coffee shops! It also helps that Moka tends to be slightly cheaper than the rest. They usually get the line going really fast and you only wait for a little while before you keep going on your merry way with your coffee. They are definitely faster than Caribou. That being said, if you get in line behind cars already waiting and you don't have much time, you should know you're taking a gamble on getting to your destination on time. If you're late after that, that's not on them, that's on you.

“Moved to LAX 2 years ago when I retired. Found DR’s and since gone in 4-5 times a week for lunch or dinner. Spent on the average of $800.00/month since. Forgot to pay my $15.47 bill the other night and walked out. Came in the next day and was told of my mistake by their manager Kevin and told I was kicked out for life. I didn’t get into a fight, get into an argument, I forgot to pay my bill. That being said everyone there knows I will come in the next day or tomorrow and would make good of it. Please stay away from this place. Cannot believe a fine man Dave Skogen(Festival Foods) is associated with this place?”

“Moving to the Midwest (from the north east)we learned very quickly Culver's is a staple around here so we went. I had the curd burger, and my husband had the spicy chicken. For what Culver's does, they do it well. Fries and onion rings are top notch, came out hot and perfectly fried. Service was friendly and even tho they are always super busy, the food came out on relatively good time.
The negative being the flavor, there is none. The spicy chicken, had a peppery after taste but that was it. The curd burger tastes like Italian bread crumbs and the fresh raw onion slice on it, everything else, including the meat just tastes like whatever is around it. The burger tastes like the grill, which was clearly clean and maintained well because it had a good grill flavor. But I'd argue salt or anything resembling seasoning is used at all.
So for what Culver's does, they do it well. But don't show up expecting a flavor bomb, it just won't give you that

I just had cheeseburger and fries. All the burgers are a half pound. My girlfriend had the ultimate BLT. 12 strips of bacon on that thing. Wow We highly recommend going to Angry's.”

“We have had great customer service at Crooked Pint! Tonight there was difficulties in the kitchen which led to an unexpected long wait- our waitress & the manager handled the situation so gracefully. They acknowledged the mishap and comped us without our party even speaking up. This was our 3rd time eating at Crooked Pint as a family & it has been a great experience each time. Our kids look forward to dining here and so do we. The food is great and the service is too!”

“Great little drive-thru coffee shop. Service is great, and quick, even with a lot of cars ahead of you. Everything we've tried has never disappointed us. Smoothie options for the kids or they can get any of the coffee options without any espresso. Highly recommend! I will say I was a little shocked by the price when I ordered 02 cinnamon rolls and 02 coffee and the total came to $23, but that is probably pretty close to other coffee shops in the area. They were delicious though!”
