“A staple in the City Of South Milwaukee!! Must try the famous garlic bread. Pizza is super yummy too. Try to make it into the restaurant to eat in, as it's a beautiful establishment and the staff is great. The business itself is truly a blessing and I think it's great they hire the younger kids in the community to help them grow.“
“Great pizzas, pastas and cocktails. The Agrigento (sausage & pep with garlic sauce base) is the best. Great service, knowledgeable staff, and comfortable atmosphere. Passion goes into what they do here and it shows. Definitely a must try if you are a fan of Italian food.“
“One of my favorite spots for girls night out or to bring my parents. I had my graduation dinner here and impressed all my relatives. My favorite menu item is the cilantro shrimp. Definitely a must try in Milwaukee if you like great food and top-notch cocktails.“
“Glorioso’s is everything that a local grocery store should be. They have the best Italian ingredients in the city. Great place for lunch, coffee, anything you need for pasta and their meat choices are the best. Sometimes they’re a bit pricey, but it’s all worth it because everything is high quality. I’ve never had a bad experience at Glorioso’s.“
“I always point people to this spot when they ask where my favorite pizza is. I love the unique combinations that they come up with. We got two pizzas and some spinach artichoke dip. Our server had a lot of energy and was very attentive. We made a reservation on a Thursday and I'm glad we did because the place was poppin. There was live music, too.“
“My husband and I stopped in for dinner tonight after not visiting for a couple of years. Everything was amazing. Our server, Lauren, was awesome- attentive, kind, easy to talk to, and gave us some awesome recommendations. My husband had one of the pastas (paccheri alla genovese) and said it was the best thing he’s ever eaten! Always thankful for an evening here❤️“
“Amazing experience sitting at the chef's table. We saw all the cooks and chefs in action and our waitress was terrific. The food was excellent! We were so surprised when our waitress brought out a little cake with a candle for my husband's birthday-- thanks for making his day so special!“
“This was our second time here. It was a busy night, we were seated towards the back of the dining room, along with 2 other tables. One of the tables had two adults and several children. The entire time they were seated, they were on their phones, watching loud videos with the sounds very loud. Super distracting for us and the other table. In hindsight we should have said something to our server, Jasensia? I would have expected that the server and/or manager would be mindful of this type of client behavior and ask that they silence their phones. As much as we tried, we could not put it our of our minds. The food entrees were both good. Insalata Della Casa with chicken, and the Pesce al Pistachio (grouper). The service was very good. Friendly and attentive.Got a couple desserts. The Banana Semi-freddo was excellent. The Torta di Caprese was not very good. We were expecting a typical flourless cake that is dense/fudgelike. This was more like a gluten free cake. Pretty disappointing. Not sure if we are likely to return. So many other good restaurants with better ambiance.“
“Great spot for date night! We made a reservation and were seated right away. Our server was very nice and checked in frequently. Food came out faster than expected. The chicken piccata meatballs were delicious. The portion sizes for our main dishes were very generous, so we had left overs. Both dishes were great! The espresso martini was a little creamy, which was amazing. We were too full for dessert but definitely want to try something next time!“
“My husband an I went to this restaurant without a reservation and they had no problem accommodating us, which was awesome. We had one of the best waiters we have ever had!She recommended so many delicious menu items! Their Caesar salad is incredible with thick homemade dressing. My pasta with shrimp and scallops was so great! We will be back …for the .Tiramisu?️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️“
“Fantastic food, loved their pork and pizzas. Their garlic bread was delicious and balanced. Their servers and bussers were polite and friendly. There's an accessible ramp on the patio as well as a staircase. There's a fair number of parking spots as well. I look forward to coming again for a date night or a celebration.Wheelchair accessibility: There is an accessible ramp from the parking lot up to the patio and into the first floor of the building. There is seating on this floor.“
“If I had to sum up my experience at Filippos in 1 sentence it would be "bang for your buck casual Italian dining with high quality service" We chose Filippos as our valentine day celebration meal. My aunt had trouble calling ahead for reservations but when I called they answered straight away and were very accommodating. The restaurant was a little less than half full on this Wednesday/Valentines day. They were a great restaurant to take a little toddler too, they had so much fun with our two year old and did not seem bothered whatsoever, a true family friendly restaurant. Everyone enjoyed our four course meal. We started out with bread, they brought plenty, some garlic and some plain. Next course was a minestrone that was quite tasty. Everyone's meals came with salad next which was a basic house salad with iceberg lettuce. Next came our huge portion dinners. Not one of us had anything to complain about. The food was so tasty. I ordered the chicken Alfredo but tried the primavera and was obsessed, will definitely be ordering that on my next visit. The chicken cordon bleu is coated with mushrooms so beware it's not just on the side. We ended our night with a cannoli and tiramisu, the perfect ending to a great meal. Our server was so patient with us as we were cackling while ordering. She was very attentive and the food was speedy. Filippos gives the vibes of a family owned no frills business that I'm drawn to. A new west allis staple for me We all left so full and everyone had leftovers.“
“Somehow I haven't been inside the original Zaffiro's in years. I love being able to get it at the movies, but I've been annoyed that I'm not in their delivery zone. Nothing has changed in the interior - possibly ever. This is a straight up old school Wisconsin tavern with a small dining room on the side. Service was very friendly. The place was packed with people waiting in line to be seated or to pick up to go orders. The pizza was predictably great - slightly charred cracker crust, plenty of toppings, good sauce proportion. We had three different types at the table and everyone was happy. Why four stars? Getting the food on our table took a really, really long time. Still a classic though.“
“A thoroughly enjoyable meal before a concert downtown. You have to be comfortable with your chair touching a strangers chair, because the tables are packed in, and all the voices make for a lively, loud atmosphere. Personally I liked it. We started with a caprese salad which was very good. They served good, slightly warmed bread and butter, it comes with the meal but we requested it before the meal and they accommodated us. I had the gnocchi and meatballs which was delicious, my wife had the margarita pizza which was also tasty. Nothing was so good I would purposely travel there for, but a very solid choice if you’re in town at dinner time.“
“We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Tenuta's this weekend! I failed to make a reservation so we sat at the bar, but the experience was not compromised at all. It was very cozy and the bartender was extremely attentive and sweet, I wish I had caught her name to give her a shout-out. We highly recommend the carbonara, bistecca and cannolis!“
“I would recommend making a reservation! We were fortunate to grab 2 spots at the bar. We had the burrata and split 1 order of the fusilli. Both were delicious and we were full- even with splitting the fusilli. The bread was also great and service was decent- it was quite busy. We're not local but if we find ourselves in Milwalkee we wouldn't be opposted to eating here again!“
“Everything was great! Went at 6:30 on a Saturday night, 15 minute wait wasn't bad at all. Staff was super friendly and inviting. Food and drinks were very good! The marinara used as a base for most dishes was really great. Will definitely be back again!“
“We got our 1st pizza from Cataro’s Pizza last night at 11:15pm after seeing the band Without Annette at Da Bar nearby. We were hungry so we searched pizza open late near me. That’s how we found this amazing pizza. The owner had closed the dining room early because business has been so slow but he offered to make us one to go. It was so good! I highly recommend this place. We’ll definitely be back!“
“Easily the best pasta I have ever had! Their house made limoncello was quite delicious as well. Their pizza was very good, the crust was amazing.Vegetarian options: I believe there was one vegetarian pasta dish.Parking: No parking lot for the restaurant, some side streets nearby to park.“
“From the appetizer to the entree to the dessert everything was impeccably delicious!! The osso buco was as delicious as what you would find in Milan which I have had. The pasta was the perfect al dente and I am picky about the pasta. Wonderful service too. You have to try this place once you will be back. It's a 10 out of 10!!!“
“This is a great example of a place that does something specific very well. We really enjoyed this as a more interesting and local fast casual option for dinner. Everybody's dishes were excellent. Convenient location as well near a lot of other activities, and right on multiple frequent MCTS bus lines (15, Green, 53).“
“Ordered the calamari, filet mignon, Brussels and dessert. Everything tasted great. I think the steak could have used more seasoning but it was cooked well. The Brussel sprouts were absolutely delicious. Calamari was served with pepper flakes which was great. Overall very happy with my experience and would definitely come back. Service was excellent. Anjail took great care of me and did everything promptly with a smile on her face.“
“We were at Casa Di Giorgio about a week ago on a Sunday. It was busy and the owner was handling most of the tables, but he did an excellent job. We never had to wait for service. All of the food was very good (including the bread) and so was our glass of wine. It’s a nice place.“
“Short Version:The only reason I am giving five stars instead of two stars is because of the exceptional service Gia provided.Gia deserves all the praise, recognition, and compensation Il Cervo can give her. She saved my grandmother's birthday dinner, and I appreciate her fun spirit, attentiveness, and consummate professionalism throughout our meal. Thank you for your wonderful service, Gia!Long Version:Il Cervo did not make a good first impression. Our party of six had reservations for 4:00 PM to celebrate my grandmother's birthday.-My uncle, aunt, and I arrived first at about 3:50 PM, and the elevators would not allow us to access the ninth floor (where the restaurant is located). It took 15 minutes, multiple conversations with hotel staff, and a staff member overriding the elevator to allow us and another party to get up to the restaurant. The issue with the elevators persisted for at least half an hour as parties arrived and voiced their troubles.-When we did arrive at the hostess at 4:05 PM, our table in the empty restaurant was "not ready."-When the table was ready, they tried to put us in a high traffic area, despite requesting a less congested location when we made the reservation. My grandmother sits in her wheelchair. We like to request a table out of the way to not inconvenience other patrons and waitstaff and make my grandmother more comfortable. We did eventually get a more suitable table in line with our special needs request. But at this point, we were approaching 4:20 PM.-As we were seated at the new table, the hostess informed us our waiter had not arrived at work yet and that they would be arriving at 4:30 PM. Our "actual waiter" did eventually arrive at our table...at about 5:00 PM. It was only after we had all ordered cocktails and about $150 in appetizers with another member of the waitstaff. I had the distinct impression our "actual waiter" was trying to poach our table for tips upon realizing their mistake in ignoring us.-My first drink arrived at about 4:40 PM, the "Friend, Lover" cocktail, with an orange peel spiral garnish...and the whole fruit sticker still firmly planted on it front and center. Wish I took a picture, but I yeeted that orange peel from my drink so fast. Now, I hate Karens. I was not going to make a scene at my grandmother's birthday dinner. I understand there is a balance between quantity and quality in food prep. Mistakes get made. But this was mistake five at a supposedly high-end restaurant. And for $17 a drink, I expect there not to be barcodes blatantly floating in the middle of my liquor. At this point, I planned to order the cheapest option on the menu and never return. This is where Gia comes in ❤️. Gia was the kind waitress that took our drink order when we were seated and waiting on our "actual waiter" to arrive. Despite her section being on the opposite end of the restaurant, she decided to continue serving us when it was apparent our "actual waiter" wasn't coming. And I am so happy she took care of us.Gia's excellence and the well done appetizers are the reasons I and my party stayed around to order additional drinks, entrees, and dessert drinks. She was extremely attentive. Never missed a beat. And made sure my grandmother felt special as the birthday girl and guest of honor. Now, I would be remiss not to give kudos to the rest of the waitstaff who served us as well. Our water glasses were filled when we asked, our dishes cleared away, and our leftover food was packed up and labeled beautifully. I never was left wanting or crowded at the table once our meal was underway. The timing on the food was impeccable.Do I think the food and drinks are worth the price? Everything was well done, but it wasn't $100+/head worthy. The appetizers and cocktails are creative, but there is definite room for improvement. You are paying for the location. I would be willing to return here and give them another chance in case I caught them on a bad day. But only if I was “
“My words truly can not do justice in describing the culinary experience that was my short rib ravioli entree. It truly was the most delicious meal I've had in quite a long time. From the wine to the salad to the ravioli, it was all flavorful, fresh, and fantastic. The server was very kind, helpful & engaging. This was my first visit but definitely not my last.“
“Excellent pizza! Great crusty chewy real crust. Exceptional sausage. Generous with ingredients. We always get carry out because I am disabled and cannot leave home. The pizza is securely boxed, and because I order it uncut tastes just like it came out of the oven freshly made. I'm 74, and have had pizzas from all over Milwaukee, this is my favorite. Great job! Thank you, don't ever change!“
“I’ve gotten Nonnas twice before. The first time the pizza wasn’t crispy at all and it was kind of disappointing, however the second time was much better. The sauce is awesome and crust is good when it’s crispy. Paid about $16.50 for a Large with one topping. They charge about $1 more if you pay with a card.“
“Can’t believe I’m saying this but Maria’s has taken the top spot for Pizza over Zaffiros in MKE, in my book. 2.7/3. Pepperonis are outrageously good, sausages good too. I would suggest eating right away as it did get cold before I could get it back to brewers hill. CONSIDER TRYING THE SMALL - I think the undercarriage would have less flop in the middle - advice from our pizza god, Dave portnoy“
“The food was really good, getting the tour of Italy was a great way to try the different things. However the service was not the same. The regulars in the restaurant were treated amazing however if you weren't a regular the servers were kind of cold/doing the least amount of service. Overall good but I wouldn't dine in again.“
