“Out of town for work stopped in for - burgers and a drink, bartender was very friendly and attentive. Our appetizers and meals (all delicious) came out fast and were very affordable. We will certainly return again! So happy to have found a place close to our hotel that was open on a Wednesday night and we enjoyed.“
“Owner Nick was friendly and attentive. Perfect dive bar for a good beer and a great burger. Open since 1949 and owned by 3 generations of the same family, You can feel the pride in the ownership of this establishment. The posted photo of the menu is the ONLY menu available at this bar... the additional menu that is on Google is not accurate so disregard this one. Stop in and have a beer and some bar food it will be worth it! We will return for sure!“
“My wife and I had passed by Wickman's a few times and finally made a point of dropping in. The owner happened to be tending bar and was super friendly. They have multiple local micro brews on tap from all around Wisconsin. We tried several and all were great. The owner also happened to be smoking ribs as a future menu item and gave the whole bar samples to try, they were delicious. They also had live music that night with the singer / guitarist allowing another patron to join him on another guitar which was really cool and a lot of fun. All in all I would highly recommend dropping in whether it's for a morning coffee or a night time beer.“
“This place is super cool for something a little different than the usual Door County scene. One of our favorite spots to visit while in town. The bartenders are usually fun & attentive, the darts are ready to be thrown, we haven't bowled here yet, but the arcade is fun to pass the time! My only hesitation with a 5 star review is that there are just too many broken games. They're cheap to play so I don't mind losing a quarter here or there, but dang guys...fix the machines! We'll be back and I'll edit the review if warranted :)“
“There are scores of places to eat and drink in Door County--easy and casual, high-brow and fussy, classic steak, lots of fish, and conceivably everything in between. Let me be clear: if you like good food (actually "great" food) and amazingly reasonable prices: GO TO THE INSTITUTE SALOON. Do it today, do it next week, just do it. I've been coming to DC for 40+ years. Last night was the first time I stepped in the Institute Saloon. Shame on me. Menu is extensive. We had burgers, clam strips, and hand cut fries. All delicious. We also ordered a box of broasted chicken to go. Best damn chicken I've had in a long time. Drinks were great. Denis, the proprietary was funny and friendly, and the pig-themed atmosphere is a hoot. Did I say the food was great and so affordable? Well then I've said it again. I've spent a ton more for crappy meals in Door County. Don't make that mistake. Add this joint to your go-to list.“
