“We had the burgers and fries. Burgers were cooked perfectly. We really appreciated the French fries. I had fried onions on my hamburger. They were sweet, cooked just perfect, no bitter char on them, buttery and delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive. We tipped her over 20% because she deserved it.“
“Bustling area of Madison with great service and excellent food. This place has charm of an old Wisconsin tavern, love the new cozy space added inside. The brunch menu, Pastrami Hash, chef's kiss! Enjoy having the self service station for water/coffee.“
“Great local neighborhood bar. Best whiskey bar in Madison. Also a very good craft beer selection and great beers on tap. With October almost here I had to stop by Bill's bar to try his Oktoberfest beer on tap and wasn't disappointed. It was great and a good size mug (see pic attached). You can find some of the most unique beer and premium whiskey selections in Madison. Great to support locally owned Madison establishments like the Malt House. There is no food kitchen, but you can get food delivered. Check out the Malt House Facebook page to see what nights local bands are playing here.Parking: If you get here early, there is a parking lot at the Malt House. On a busy night you may have to get nearby (free) street parking.“
“Friday Night Fish Fry Wife did not want battered fish and they have excellent alternate. She got the salmon and salad and looking at the menu- what did I see but mussels. These are some of the best I have had since being out on the East Coast. The potatoes in with the mussels with an extra surprise. Great service“
“Recently stopped in for dinner with an out-of-town friend. Outstanding service! Elyse was AMAZING and took great care of us. The food was wonderful, with special mention of the smash burger - honestly one of the best burgers I've ever had - no joke! Great drinks, great food, well worth the visit.“
“Antler's has always been one of my dad's favorite bars. I took it upon myself to throw him a surprise party and I knew that would be the perfect place. The owner met with me prior and was more than willing to help me with everything. Also, allowed me to decorate the place exactly how I wanted. If you're looking for a place to throw a party at this is the perfect spot. This process truly could not have gone smoother. I would recommend Antler's to anybody, it is such a good atmosphere, and is so much fun!“
“Stop here after reading that they were voted one of the top 3 fish Fry's in Madison and it did not disappoint me. Fish was outstanding. Excellent beer battered and flavorful and nice crispy waffle fries. Service was friendly and prompt. Highly recommend and definitely #1 fish fry in Madison.“
“We left a horrible experience at Nora's 2 and ended up here. SO GLAD we did!! The service was prompt and we got exactly what we ordered, cooked to perfection. Had the Pickle Burger with added bacon and it's probably the best burger I've ever had.Try it out--you'll love the food!!“
“Fun bartenders, mixed crowd, Black friendly.I have found the acoustics to be hard on the ears when the crowd gets loud. Every Friday there's a band playing. I've heard everything from jazz to bluegrass. They don't have an extensive menu, but they partner with Buck's Pizza across the street. When your order is ready, the bartenders will walk over to pick up your pizza and hand deliver it to you, rain, sleet, or shine. - That's good service!“
“Stopped in for "Friday Fish". In this case, baked cod with a side of cheesy potatoes was very good.I ordered a cup of clam chowder to be served before my meal, but the service tonight was so fast that my soup and dinner were served nearly simultaneously!!I especially liked the warm melted butter served with this meal, like it should be.The atmosphere is perhaps a "traditional" WI locale, but the dining area is small, so you'll have to wither sit at the bar or on the bar area ?. It's not exactly a drawback if you grew up in WI as that is part of the culture. If you didn't grow up here, you may object to the bar if you have children.“
“This place looked awesome inside and the food was great. Unfortunately the gentleman that waited on us was seriously a disappointment! Never got a hello or smile. Handed the menus and asked what we wanted to drink. He got our drinks and if we were ready to order. Uh can we have a min!? Very dull when asked a question. Still no smile at all. Apparently before serving our food he was leaving. Never came and said a goodbye or he was leaving and someone else would be taking over etc. Nothing. So his service SUCKED!!! The girl that took over for him was exceptional!!! Kudos to her!“

“I was recently on a first date at The Rock, as this young man said y'all had the best and biggest chicken wings he'd ever had and I knew regardless of if this date was a bust or not - I needed to find out for myself about these wings.Within a few moments of meeting it was obvious we were not aligned or compatible as human beings but to be respectful and to complete my research on these wings I decided to tough it out and go through with the date. It was kinda slower and I didn't want there to be any implication of privacy or romance, so we sat at the bar. Let me tell you, grateful doesn't even begin to describe it.This young man proceeded to spend the remainder of our date spoke of nothing but his day to day work life as if I were someone who was so actively in his life I would have any idea what he was even talking about. Any chance of subject change got rerouted to his topic of choice, even to the point of describing his "humility and lack of ego" like it wasn't his ego that was delivering such a sermon. It was after his third "I'm a really nice guy..." I knew I needed an ally to find reprieve in conversation and found the bartender's name was Allie. What I'd like to describe as me nonchalantly getting her attention and signaling for a wingwoman was more likely an awkward flail and desperate cry for help - and help she DID.The following 48 minutes of this train wreck of a date came with the silver lining of enjoying my perfectly seasoned, massive, garlic parm wings between belly laughs as Allie served this young man his misogynistic beliefs right back to him. The wings were really good and definitely some of the biggest I've ever had, but it was her quick wit, incredible customer service, and all around cutie patootieness that made the experience a great one; I will absolutely be back (and without that loser) because of it.Every bar needs an Allie.<3“
