“Food was great, but service was lacking.Wait was quite long on the weekend, but that was expected. If I were to go again, I'd probably bring my own latte for the line, ha. But the maiz con leche was everything I hoped it would be. The longanisa was superb. I couldn't identify the spices, but it had such a different balance than what I'm used to in Latin cuisine. They have an odd ordering/seating system where you order at the front, pay, but then they don't sit you for a while, then they sit you, then they bring you out your food. They came by 4 times during our brunch to tell us that they couldn't find our lattes in the system. Not once did they ask what the lattes were. They eventually brought out the lattes as we were just finishing our meals (and obviously found them in the system since they brought out the right ones). Since we already tipped, I guess no incentive to do anything about the poor service. They didn't comp the lattes, they didn't bring out a little dessert, etc. like you might see in a any other restaurant.Obviously they need to make the ticketing system more accessible to their waiters or train them on it better.“

“Higher end cuisine than I'd expected in Pilsen. You've got to admit, the neighborhood is changing, and hip restaurants are not rare there these days. We had good service, excellent wine available, and we made some really great choices. Nearly everything we ordered was excellent in our group of five. Glad we did the shared plates approach. The cornbread madeleines were so delicious, we ordered some to take home for coffee time the next morning. Another highlight was a mushroom dish. All of the vegetables focused selections were excellent. Our beef and fish choices were fine, but not as impressive. I wasn't a fan of the truffle oil dessert, but honestly it reminded me that my palate isn't as sophisticated as some others' are. What I expected was different than what we received. I tried it anyway, and it was too much umami and charred/burnt flavors. It tasted like it looked, so I know it was me, not the kitchen. We'd ordered several other desserts, and I loved all the others. I was more disappointed in myself that I didn't like it. Good decor, fits in well with the intended vibe. We found it somewhat noisy; perhaps if the (cool) music was turned down by half, it would be more conducive to friendly conversation. Lighting was a bit dim but not bad. Definitely have been recommending S.K.Y. They are inventive and enthusiastic. There's some room for improvement but I believe it will be truly great.“

“An incredible food experience from beginning to end. Upon entry, a new customer may question their choice by looking at the place. It is simple and plain. The staff is casually dressed and there is borderline loud music playing. It is obvious that this place is all about the food. Every course is well thought out, explained by staff and delicious. The music tapers off, the tables fill up, the wine (BYOB) flows, the apprehension among newcomers falls away and the experience becomes more and more fun. Enjoy a talented staff, superb service, creative courses and lots of fun!“

Sitting outside is like a huge barbecue, the awkward family reunion type. Super chill vibe, lots of people just having a good time and enjoying the sun. The fried chicken sandwich, fish sandwich, and hush puppies are amazing. The space has more character and sitting on the rooftop patio was so nice on a beautiful Saturday! We came for lunch around 1 and there was plenty of seating. They were still serving their brunch menu which has a range of brunch plates and their pizzas. We split 2 pizzas between 3 of us and it was the perfect filling amount! we got the Margherita and the wild mushroom and both were delicious, though we all liked the Margherita better. “Last night, my girlfriend and I celebrated her 30th birthday with an unforgettable dinner at Roister. The evening was nothing short of magical, beginning with the Market Oysters that were delicately smoked and served with a tangy mignonette sauce. The shishito peppers, paired with a savory topping, were a burst of flavor that set the stage for the rest of the meal. Each dish was a masterpiece, not only in taste but also in presentation. The Pork Belly was succulent and perfectly seasoned, melting effortlessly at each bite. The Fried Chicken & Caviar was a surprising blend of down-home comfort and upscale indulgence, creating a delightful contrast. The star of the show was undoubtedly the Hearth Grilled Scallop. The cauliflower purée and fresh melon provided a sweet and creamy backdrop to the perfectly charred scallops. Following this was the Blue Crab with sofrito, which was a testament to the chef’s attention to detail and flavor balance. For dessert, the Butternut Squash Sorbet was a refreshing palate cleanser, and the Banana with pecan ice cream ended our meal on a decadently sweet note. Each plate was not only a treat for the palate but a feast for the eyes, served on beautifully curated dishware that enhanced the overall experience. The service was impeccable, attentive without being intrusive, allowing us to savor each moment of our celebration. Roister has truly set a high bar for culinary excellence and a memorable dining experience. Five stars are not enough to capture the essence of our evening. We will definitely be returning!“

Chicago has a plethora of good Italian spots, but DeNucci’s takes the crown for having what I consider to be the most “old world” and authentic spot that reminds me of home. I particularly loved how they have Cavatelli’s and Braciole on the menu, as it’s usually hard to find those items at Chicago spots. “This place is a gem!! Would highly recommend to any of my friends and will definitely be going back. Amazing food and service. Relaxing, beautiful atmosphere outside on the deck. I’ve lived in Chicago, NYC, and LA and this is one of my favorite places.“

“Beautiful food and wine. Great atmosphere. Staff that were attentive without being overbearing. Michelin stars. And a 5m walk from the apartment. This could become an expensive habit!“

“Saturday evening was my first time at Parsons. The food was delicious and the service could not have been better. Our server definitely did not forget us. I had the shrimp basket...delicious and my son had the fish and chips and he also said they were delicious. We definitely will go back.“
