“We ordered spicy beef noodle soup and it was so good. Good portion size with lots of meat and their noodles was extraordinary. I took a side of fried tofu and the sauce on that made it so delicious. My friend ordered beef handpulled noodles and that was super good too.“
“This was my first time here, my server Rita was friendly and helpful with my questions, the staff in the kitchen were open and friendly as well. The food was delicious and filling. The restaurant has a variety of add ons to use at the tables and even has stationed tissues for each table!I will be coming back for more!“
“I had the yellow curry and I absolutely loved it. It had a sweet taste and a good spiciness level. There was a good amount of meat. You can choose chicken or beef and there was a lot of food. My medium bowl of rice had a good amount of curry with every bite.“
“I've only been here twice so I've done variations of the build your own noodles. Excellent food, broths are excellent. This time, we got appetizers spicy wontons and the century egg + tofu. Both were delicious.Friendliest service at a Chinese restaurant award! ?Hoping to get a clay pot rice bowl next time! Just didn't have enough stomach room this time ;)“
“If you're anything like me, when you're in the mood to go for Vietnamese food, there are no shortages of Vietnam restaurants available in Edmonton to satisfy your cravings. My wife and I are no strangers to many of these restaurants because it's one of our staples at least several times a month. Each restaurant has its own unique dish(es) so if you're anything like me, I take note of what dish each place is famous for...(at least to me and my wife). Hands down, the spring rolls will be Golden Bird. Salad Rolls would be Siam Thai Restaurant, but in this case, we decided we wanted Pho. And the best place to go for Pho, is Calgary Trail Restaurant in Edmonton. When you first walk in the decor is exactly the same as it was some 20 years ago, so it does need to be updated, but I don't come for the atmosphere...I come for exceptionally good food at a price that is totally fair for what you get. The gentleman who owns the establishment is always very quiet but when you get him talking he's really quite funny. I automatically ordered their very special Vietnamese iced coffee to start. If you haven't tried it before then you're in for a treat. Each restaurant uses their own espresso blend but Calgary Trail Restaurant uses (in my opinion) the best, which makes it outstanding. My wife on the other hand ordered the 3 colors Vietnamese drink. A traditional coconut based concoction that uses red bean and grass jelly, which creates a kaleidoscope of colors in your glass. It's really quite delicious. We invited 2 other friends to join us and I ordered the spring rolls and salad rolls to get the evening off to a good start. My wife ordered the very unusual Dill Fish Cake soup. She described her soup as a delicate but flavorful broth, that came with tender fish cake patties infused with a wonderful dill flavor. She absolutely loved it. I ordered my usual... number 118. Sweet and sour soup with Shrimp and Chicken. This place absolutely knocks this soup out of the park. With the sweet chunks of tomato and pineapple combined with spicy chicken broth with good sized prawns and chunks of chicken breast. A real satisfying meal that makes you leave nothing in the bowl at the end. It's so delicious, that it will be a soup that not only satisfies you but it literally nourishes the soul. It's our go to place when we want great food in a virtually quiet atmosphere. This place should be packed but unfortunately it never is. This is one place that will give you value for your hard earned money. So I suggest anyone reading this should patronize Calgary Trail Restaurant. If not, we may lose a hidden gem forever.“
“The food was hot and delicious. It came out within minutes and was full of flavour. The wonton soup was different with the vermicelli in it, but I liked it. The staff was nice and courteous. I would recommend this place. Especially if you're on your way in or out of the city.Vegetarian options: They have Tofu and other vegetarian dishes.Wheelchair accessibility: All of the table are at waist height and can easily be moved for accessibility.“
“I went here with my wife around 20mins before they closed shop, and got a veggie noodle pho and veggie banh mi. We sat and ate there, and the flavours were very comforting, warm, and savoury. I've never had home cooked Vietnamese meals - but I imagine this is what it wouls be like. Simple and savoury. The owner was very polite and I will definitely be back for more!“
“Came here to see what everyone is raving about.Service: slow.. kitchen seemed busy, but only one person working in front of doing everything. Despite the huge lineup, the server moves really slowly. I am not blaming him, but the whole thing seemed to be out of sync.Food : Decent. I don't have a chinese background, so really hard to judge what their authentic bao taste like. I like it, not nothing spectacular, in my opinion.Although the interior is modern and clean, their bathroom was yuck!Due to being short-staffed, I don't think they will or have man power to check until closing.Reason I am giving 4 stars with negativity along with my review, I really don't see anything wrong with their food.It is priced well, and food quality isn't bad. I would swing by if I am in the area.“
“I'm very fussy about what I eat.The owner always makes my meal just the way I like it and he never complain's about taking things out that I don't like. The guy is awesome.I started going to test kitchen. When the oodle noodle in Clareview burned down. But now I choose to go to the test kitchen on fort road instead of Clareview's new oodle noodle.“
“If you like fresh and spicy food, I definitely recommend the Malatang rice noodles and Huajia rice noodles~ This is also my favorite~ They also have their milk tea, which is delicious! Some time ago, the store also launched Northern delicacies such as porridge-based hot pot, Spring Festival set menu, pot-wrapped pork, piglet quilt, etc. Looking forward to the next new product, haha~“
“Good! We ordered combo for 2. Picked the soup of Doenjang-Jjigae. The portion of the corn cheese was on a smaller size but thats okay. Meat is tender and have lots of flavour best one is probably the marinated La galbi. The table is definitely have enough space for the combo that we have and all the side dishes but i remember eating with 4 people here as well and thats when its gets a little tricky with all the stuff in the tableParking: Parking during the day is busy and tight but when we went during dinner lots of open space“
“Met the Sunny the soon to be Chief he recommended we try the smoked strip loin and the prime rib. This was hands down the best meal we ever ate! Thank you everyone for making this a great experience. Would highly recommend this restaurant!“
“I tried the food from Shimiaodao Yunnan Rice Noodle after seeing the restaurant along some of my drives over the past few months. I got the Szechuan Pepper Fish Rice Noodle Soup. The soup had a lot of flavour and a nice szechuan spicy numbing sensation. It also went really well with the noodles. There were also a variety of items in it including fish fillet, fish tofu, quail egg, crab stick, mushroom, tofu, corn, ham, spam, etc. I’d give this item 8.8/10“
“I came here with my family after some appointments and we each got a delicious plate of food. My toddler rather enjoyed the noodles and carrots and meat, along with the juice box, while we adults liked our plates as well. There was ample parking and the kid liked watching the staff cook. I have long enjoyed Oodle Noodle and this location is no exception. Clean and bright, there is limited seating but it seemed ample for the space.“
“This is a restaurant with simple decor where the focus is on food. The ingredients in the food are high quality and the beef bone broth is an excellent base in any of the soup dishes. In the beef soup with hand pulled noodles , the noodles are quite thick and dense. Noodles are plentiful with some baking chocolate and beef. The beef curry noodles dish had a good mix of veggies and good flavor. Lots of noodles and I think this dish could have been taken to the next level with snow peas or chestnuts.I will return to try the dumplings which look delicious.Dietary restrictions: I do not eat pork and given that many Asian dishes have only pork broth I was pleasantly surprised to note that they have dishes with beef bone broth.“
“This amazing little stand makes the best noodles I have ever eaten, I could eat their prepackaged noodles with different types of meat every day of the week, their prices are really good $10 per package , i was broken hearted when the pandemic happened because I couldn’t get my fix of my favourite noodles, now after asking around I discovered that they are open ! I can’t wait to get some and if you want to get addicted to these amazing noodles please try them, they are quick and easy and so amazing for a busy day and a busy family plus your helping a community to stay vibrant and alive by buying local it’s a win win situation the whole way around ! ♥️“
“Had lunch here the other day. Didn't have to wait for a table which was nice. Ordered the braised beef soul large. It was gigantic! So many noodles, and thr broth was delightful. Although not much meat. The meat that was present was very good though. Also ordered some skewers. Lamb, squid, and Taiwanese sausage. We got the squid without any spice and I recommend getting it spiced haha I wish they had free refills on soda instead of just cans.Otherwise it was a nice outing to come here.“
“Food was exceptional the ramen. The one I had spinach noodles in it. Got one free refill for noodles. My partner had the braided beef flat noodlesThe soup was hot, noodles were Dan an. I don't know what it is in English but good noodles. The have a game room downstairs too. Good for friends /groups.Will be back more.“
