Maybe some of the Greatness is returning, ventured by with a couple of friends and found the place more like I remembered from days of ole. Hushpuppies were awesome and plentiful, the barbecue was great, the chicken was back to that standard from the ole days it really felt like going home. Hoping they maintain the service and quality levels but for today you are my 5 star BBQ restaurant.

Update to the Update: July 2018:
Looking for greatness once again food was good and service is great. The new Mazda/ Toyota plant coming across the street, gives this place a chance at a definite re-birth and hopefully will regain that 5th star. Definitely edging back toward 5 from 4 stars.

Okay folks it was last fall 2017 but my sister convinced me to go back, oh yeah she was buying. But the service, Hush puppies, and food were all edging back towards their greatness for that reason I’ll go to 3 1/2 to 4 on this one. Definitely worth the ride.

This review teeters between 2 and 3 stars, for years this restaurant was a mainstay in our family's dining pleasure. The last two times I have gone the food was not up to expectations. The first time the Chicken was too dry which made it tough to eat, I'll give you the Hush Puppies were still good.
The last time Iw as there the food was awful remembering my previous experince withthe chicken I went with pulled pork-- Mistake, also the hush puppies were terrible.
So, So long to this one maybe one day you can retrieve your glory but I will have to hear some awesome review before I ever venture back.“

“I honestly didn't know this place existed before yesterday. We love BBQ and try every place possible. I had the pulled pork, wife had the chicken. It was great! The sides are also good. It was so good that the meat doesn't even need sauce. It's a small place, very limited seating. Best to get it to go. They smoke everything around back. The price is comparable to other nearby BBQ places. We will be back!“

“After eating Long’s for lunch, we hired them to cater our daughters birthday party. We had brisket, pulled pork, baked beans, mac n’ cheese, street corn and a full container of two types of pickles. Also included was disposable (heavy duty) serving utensils, buns and BBQ sauce Every dish was amazing! Nice smokey flavors but not too much. The baked beans, which had thinly sliced ham covering the top, was out of this world. The street corn was a wonderful departure from the typical bbq sides you get elsewhere. Their prices are great. Delivery was on time and was brought into the venue all the way to its final serving spot. I highly recommend their food and catering. It has been a fantastic experience each time I’ve purchased from Long’s Craft Barbecue.“

“We had lunch at the new Hickory NC location! Service was great and food was pretty good! I got the smoked turkey sandwich and wings. Wings were a real disappointment though.... under cooked and definitely not smoked. I just took them home and popped them in the air-fryer. But all in all a 7 out of 10.....in my opinion.“

“The food was excellent. My daughter and I are from a different state and we were staying at Best Western Plus Hotel and we saw Ted's Bar-B-Q on our way to the hotel. Since it was close to the area and we wanted bar-b-que, we decided to try this place out. The food was absolutely delicious. We tried the white bar-b-que sauce and it really set it off.“

“Bbq pork was awesome. The only thing that brought me down to 4 stars was the mac and cheese. It tasted like it’s been sitting out for a few hours. Not a lot of cheese and different parts of the mac have a strange consistency. Other than that everything was great!

Parking: Street parking but it fills up fast“

“I went there today and spent way too much money. Anyways I'm kinda worried I'm going to end up with food poisoning. Your restaurant should give each table a food thermometer. I also felt bad wasting that much food. It wouldn't hurt to cut down on portions and price especially if it's just 2 people.“
