“Scott Street Deli June 19, 2023 I was cruising Facebook this morning and saw a posting that Scott Street Deli would be open today. What a great idea for a Monday lunch. When Mrs. Bunny worked downtown on Dexter Avenue we’d make an occasional lunch trip to Scott Street Deli for some of their tasty sandwiches. She retired last July so we don’t have the need to travel to downtown Montgomery as much. This being a federal holiday for Juneteenth I guessed that there would be less overall lunch traffic, so we left sunny rainy Mitylene and drove to Scott Street for lunch. The rain got heavier as we parked and headed inside the Deli. It’s OK… we’ll dry out. I got in Line 1 and placed our order with the Sandwich Artist… a large Frencheletta for me, a regular Club for Mrs. Bunny. While sandwiches were being made I picked up Chips and Sodas for us and paid Kathy (the owner) for our meal. I secured a table and waited for Mrs. Bunny to arrive with our sandwiches. My Frencheletta was large and meaty and quite a handful to navigate. Mrs. Bunny enjoyed her Club. There are many sandwiches on the menu but somehow we always gravitate to the Frencheletta and Club. Creatures of habit we are. I promise I’ll try something new next visit. As they say, “so many sandwiches, so little time”. As we sat there in-house and to-go orders came and went. It was a busy place this afternoon. We thanked Kathy for a great meal and headed out before the rains got heavier. Scott Street Deli at 412 Scott Street in downtown Montgomery is open weekdays from 9:45am to 2:30pm. You can order for takeout at 334/264-9415 or on their website at www.ScottStreetDeli.com. This is tied for best location in Montgomery with the one on S. Bypass & I-65 in my experience. Others in Montgomery have generally been excellent over the years as well.

“the food is good not going to lie but they need to do something about customer service over the telephone no one don't want to deal with no one where the rude mouth or hanging up on them when I'm spending my money only thing I wanted was for the cashier to open up my food and allow to dash it to take a picture of my food so I can see my food before I got it as they do in the restaurant they open up your plate for you to look at it and you content with your meal and you go so why is it the same done for doordash the cashier should have on gloves open up the customer plate allowed to Dasher to take a picture to send to the person who ordered their food that's all I'm saying I paid 33 some odd dollars for one plate with a tip to the Dasher that left me paying 40 something bucks for one plate yes the food is good but I do not like dealing with no rude people I almost walked up there because it is the neighborhood where I grew up from”

This past Sunday we came in for brunch, and the food was wonderful! We had the gouda grits, and blackened fish, and the Nashville hot chicken, and waffles! Everything was fabulous, and we ate every last bite! We visited with the chef, and staff, had a cold beer with our meal, and felt like we had started our Sunday off on a great note!
