“Fern cafe is consistently wonderful at offering the tastiest food and drinks, a fun atmosphere where I feel comfortable taking my kids, and they have the friendliest staff that go above and beyond to make the dinning experience special.Today we had a mix of sides, the fries, Caesar salad and Chickun, with a donut. The salad is always so good, just the perfect amount of dressing and crunchy crotons with lots of cheese on top! The Chickun is outrageously delicious and the fries and donuts are my kids very faves.We are lucky to have such an awesome all vegan cafe so close to home!“

“Melinda’s Bistro is literally a hidden gem in beautiful Sidney, BC. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the staff are incredibly friendly, and the food is amazing…especially their breakfast sandwiches and soups!!! They have a lot of great items on their menu to choose from, and their prices are on par…if not cheaper…than similar cafes in the Sidney/North Saanich area. If you’re travelling to or from the ferry or the airport, you should definitely check this place out!! :)“

“I walked in here on January 20 and ordered a red velvet cake slice and an eclaire. They were both absolutely delicious! That being said, I need to rave about the pain au chocolat (basically a croissant with chocolate filling for the uninitiated), a Paris breakfast staple, which La Roux also serves. I went to Paris in October 2023 and had pain au chocolat just about every morning. They were always delicious, as they should be if you want to serve food in Paris and do well. I unfortunately have not found that quality returning to Canada - until now! I was prepared to be disappointed biting into a La Roux pain au chocolat, but OMG!, memories of my first morning in Paris came flooding back! Absolutely love this place ? I will be back and encourage fellow Paris travelers to check them out and get their amazing pain au chocolat/croissant fix in!“

“Since moving to North Saanich, I’ve developed an obsession with Sidney Scones. Not only are they absolutely delicious, but the owner is so kind and sweet! My daughter asked for vanilla dunkaroo scones instead of cupcakes for her 5th birthday and they were a huge hit!“

“I decided to treat myself to a mini chicken pie and a lemon curd tart for Easter weekend. I was mesmerized with the flavor and quality of their goods. I’m also enjoying their cranberry feta and rosemary specially sourdough. The lemon curd was delightfully smooth, perfect flavor and texture of the crusts on Both were 10/10. “As someone that can't have dairy I have tried a lot of vegan ice cream, and parachute's is my favorite. The texture is rich and creamy, and the flavors are fun. They sell pints and cones and even by the cone, there is more than one vegan flavour to choose from, which is so appreciated. Highly recommend ?.“

“It is a bit out of the way, but definitely worth the stop. If you're headed to the ferry or airport, you should take a little detour for a pre-departure meal or snack. Their specialty lattes are great and I'm sure all the other pastries are good. I only ever get the vanilla custard Danish and I'm never disappointed. If you go in the summer they also have in-house refreshers as well which are also very good. If they break into charcuterie it would be a perfect place for me, at least.“

“We purchased a carrot cake and cupcakes (vegan and regular) from oh la la for my daughter’s baby shower. The carrot cake was absolutely delicious and moist. Not too sweet but sweet enough to make it one of the best carrot cakes I have ever had. Everyone at the shower raved over both the cake and the cupcakes. The vegan cupcakes were gobbled up along with the regular ones. The presentation of the cake and cupcakes were also a five star. Beautiful inside and out! So very happy with my experience at oh la la! Highly recommend!!“

“I was shocked at the amount of delightful offerings that Sidney Bakery has, but this is no secret to the locals! Donuts, breads, cookies, bars, and much much more all at a very reasonable price!! While the store is small, it has so much to offer. We purchased some treats, cinnamon buns, and cookies and loved each item! The value is incredible and the staff were helpful and kind.“

“This cafe is close to my job site. They have drip coffee quick and ready. Phil and Sebastian beans (I think) which is great! Bright and calming atmosphere, bigger than most cafes which really improves wheelchair accessibility.Wheelchair accessibility: no stairs, large and spacious. bathroom is a good size :)“

“A Victoria institution, unique and amazing enough that if you’re visiting the island, you should absolutely go out of your way to visit, and walk the North Park area. The exterior and Mason street is packed with awesome graffiti. For ordering: recommend the ham & cheese sandwich which has jaw dropping flavor combinations of sweet, savoury & spicy; the breakfast danish and a finale treat: the blueberry custard tart. ❤️“

“Loved this little gem. We tried pizza, the BLT, the egg breakfast sandwich, cinnamon rolls and muffins. We also bought a loaf of bread for home. Everything was really tasty the BLT was so good (it has pesto on it). The services was friendly and it was a sweet little spot.“

“While the selection of brunch items isn't huge, there's something for everyone. My scrambled eggs were absolutely perfect and the fresh basil I the bruschetta topping was so delicious. My wife really enjoyed her breakfast sandwich with avocado, the bread was soft and delicious. I will definitely be back!“

“This is legitimately THE only place in victoria to get an actual gelato, and that is all you need to know, the pistachio gelato is real and it will grab you by the ear and grind your face along the cobbles of a small villa just outside Naples. The bread is also very good.“

It's evident in the perfection of each item. “Met Andy and his Filipino Co worker, whose name escapes me right now, sorry. Both of them were totally upbeat and helpful as it was our first time here. They walked us through what was what, and we put together an order. The bread was so soft on the inside with a little crunchy outside. I absolutely loved it, a long with a few goodies for myself and the kids for later on. I have walked by bringing my daughter home from school and always kicked myself for not walking with money. They leave the door open and let that beautiful baked scent fill the strip plaza, and it gets me every time. I decided to drive over and not delay the inevitable any longer...highly recommended, and we will be back for sure.Parking: Tons of parking, not always in front of the store but plenty parking ?“

“Today I was lucky to get a delivery of Victoria Pie Co. key lime pie. I've only had their apple hand pies before (AMAZING. Not too sweet, and perfectly flaky pastry) but today was something different for me and I can assure you, it was worth it! This was, by far, the best key lime pie I've ever tasted. Amazing graham crust, and perfectly tangy filling. 10/10 would happily eat again in a heartbeat!“

“This place is a cool little bakery. It's easy to miss when you drive by, I didn't know it was there until a friend took me recently. I love the environment there with the table seating. The food is good as well. The baked goods are made fresh and I had the croissant with cheese and ham melted, as well as the soup. It was excellent ? The prices are decent and it has friendly service. Good location in Sidney. Close by the main street. Parking is a bit tight and mostly on the street but across the road has some for free.“

“I had the best oat milk latte and chilli. the service was wonderful, and they were accommodative to my celiac allergy and replaced the complimentary bread with a gluten free brownie at no extra charge. i was so pleased i went back within the week. definitely a hidden gem and i wish i discovered this place sooner! i want to come by every time i’m in the valley if i can.“
