“This is the go-to spot for your coffee's. They have a wide variety of options, from muffins, sweets, sandwiches, breakfast items, and lunch options. There is also a section of the store front in Emporium that sells a variety of locally made items. I go to the Emporium at least 2 to 3 times a week. The staff is friendly and quick. I have never waited too long for my coffees. As long as I'm working close to the Emporium I will be going there for my coffee breaks regularly.“

“LOVE their vegan sandwiches. It’s a budget-friendly place with lovely staff and the BEST vegan brownie I’ve ever had. Lattes are great and milkshakes reportedly superb friends tell me. It’s a bustling place where finding a table at lunch can be a challenge but you worth that small hurdle.“
“We had a late Sunday breakfast. Our server was exceptional and breakfast was excellent. The room and view perfect. I highly recommended and will return without doubt, my first choice for a nice breakfast out now. Look forward to trying dinner. Once again, congratulations on the fabulous service“

“Pros: Delicious scones and good breakfast items. Would recommend the ranchero wrap and the white chocolate scone. Spacious, seats have backs, and big tables. Great coffee nice patio out back and cool atmosphere.Cons: Not the cleanest place I’ve been in. Lots of crumbs on the tables and rings on my coffee cup. Not a huge deal, but still.Overall: I go at least once a week because it’s a dimly lite place that’s nice to sit and have coffee-scone meditation time early in the morning. The place is always pack and by 9-10 these a line to the door. That speaks for itself. Would recommend a visit if you haven’t had the pleasure. Would also recommend the staff give the tables a wipe.“

“Pros: Awesome food that includes doughnuts to actually breakfast and sandwiches, but still a cafe format. Patio and location are both on point. Friendly, attentive staff. Chairs with backsCons: A bit pricey. Seating is better than 90% of the cafes in the downtown but it’s not a spot to post up, if you feel my meaning.Overall: I’m surveying all the cafes in the downtown and this is my favorite spot so far. Come for the food, stay for the atmosphere on the patio. Would absolutely recommend.“

“Up with if not the single best latte you can get in town. An incredibly peaceful place that’s sometimes too quiet for boisterous chatter, but a great place to work or journal. A big selling point for me is that they carry Jagasilk teas and know how to prepare them.“

“All of the caffeinated bevies we have tried here are delicious. And while sometimes it gets a little busy it is 100% worth the wait which is never too long because they are experts and super efficient (and friendly). Lots of seating too.Great to take the kids to as well ??“
“Gigi's is a rad local cafe with freshly made baked goods (I get a muffin every time) and delightful coffee. They support the local arts by showcasing local artist's physical talent (trinkets, mugs, paintings) and also through hosting open mics and poetry/writers nights. They have a live musician play most Sundays for a few hours and the owner, Gino, sings some sweet Italian tunes at the open mics. So... yeah Gigi's has been a glorious addition to the Quadra Village, buy stuff there“
“Stumbled across this very cute coffee shop down some stairs and it was amazing! George was a super friendly owner and very passionate about the coffee and it has several different specialty beans to try. The atmosphere was unique and very calming and I also loved that there were unique pastries like a matcha pineapple bun. It’s pretty newly opened so definitely worth a visit!“
“Nothing but 5 star. Lots of selection of foods pastries loaf slices cakes sandwiches and a selection of coffees and teas. Wonderful seating area and some seating outside on the main Street. Also a shop to purchase gift baskets and loose leaf teas. All in all a great addition to your day. Include it in your visit..“

“An absolute gem. This sandwich shop, run by one incredible woman, is a fresh and delicious stop. We had ten people from our soccer team show up, as we were playing in the area (Hey Elizabeth, PCOV won the final!) and got a fresh meal before our game. We didn't plan on all showing up to the same cafe but as skill presented, Elizabeth prepared our drinks and then our sandwiches with no stress and plenty of happy whistles and singing from the kitchen. We were patient but didn't wait long before eating. My "toastie" was a perfectly panini press-toasted bread with fresh spinach, Swiss, tomato, and mayo. It was perfect. My apple cider was "200 degrees" and had the best steamy aroma. I also grabbed a pecan tartlet and a tasty oat bar. I hope to be back again one day ❤️Wheelchair accessibility: All on one floor! Spacious washroom and dynamic seating area (huge patio, too).“

“Came here for a second time to get “the Canadian” breakfast sandwich and a “chicken pesto” panini. Then a vanilla late and the handsome man behind the counter recommended me the cortado, which was absolutely awesome. All around a great place, one of the best cafes in Victoria.“

“I had high hopes for getting my breakfast sandwich fix at Rise and Grind Coffee after researching different breakfast spots in downtown Victoria and reading their reviews. Rise and Grind Coffee definitely hit the spot! I ordered the BLAST and it was very satisfying! The bacon was crispy, the avocado was fresh and creamy, it was nice and saucy without the bread getting soggy, and I felt full from the sandwich. I replaced the multi-grain bread with sourdough bread. The sourdough bread was not what I was expecting as it was soft. I ordered my sandwich "to go", and they make it easy to eat on the go, which I really appreciate. It was wrapped in an aluminum foil pouch and paper, which made it easy to consume the sandwich without any mess on the go. I will definitely be back!“

“Super cute family business with friendly service. Although the coffee isn't the best, the breakfast bagels for around 7 CAD are amazing and the homemade banana bread aswell. Everything is very decently priced and tastes amazing. Perfect place for an affordable and quick breakfast! Not the most striking place frome the outside, but definitely more than worth the price!!!“

“Nice little spot in West Bay. They have limited seating inside and a nice little patio outside. No milk products here, so if you are looking for a latte, it's almond, oat, or soy. The coffee is great, and they have some interesting brews, including Chaga and Lion's Mane. If you are in the area or walking on the Songhees Walkway it's a good spot to stop.“

“Can't elaborate on service because we skipped the dishes to our hotel room after a day surgery at RJH. The food we ordered was packaged well, and absolutely delicious. Next opportunity we have we will attempt to dine in, but if we can't this will definitely be on our list of order again. Had the quesadilla, a turkey bacon sandwich, a couple iced coffees (only critique would be no request option for sugar on the iced coffee menu but we had some in the room so not a huge deal) and we also got the loaded big salad. It was all very fresh and super tasty.“
“This cafe is close to my job site. They have drip coffee quick and ready. Phil and Sebastian beans (I think) which is great! Bright and calming atmosphere, bigger than most cafes which really improves wheelchair accessibility.Wheelchair accessibility: no stairs, large and spacious. bathroom is a good size :)“

“If you are looking for a delightful latte experience, you must visit the warm, inviting wood deck of Macciato Caffe & Paninoteca. I was able to cozy up my scooter right next to my table and sip and savour their delicious Lavender Latte while watching the florist from “Flowers on Top” select gorgeous peonies from their spring flower selection across the street. Gorgeous spot, simply delightful!“
“I found this place while waiting in a ferry line with 2 sailing waits to the mainland. We had lunch and roamed the facility we came across so many things that were right up our alley , kayaking , tours , and a nice place to eat. They even have a boat launch. We decided to extend our stay , got out of the line up , got a VRBO, and explored.Best decision for us we had a great time. The staff at the marina took care of so well, better than BC ferries could. What a Great stay. I would recommend this place to all.“

“Pros: awesome doughnuts, good coffee, and real vinyl playing. Cozy little coffee shop with a black and white trim on wood and brick aesthetic. Chairs with backs. Fair prices. Right by my bus (98) stop and open early, so very convenient.Cons: Seating is acceptable but not really comfortable in a way that I would want to post up here for an hour to work. Though convenient, the location is not the nicest bit of downtown (minor critique outweighed by doughnut quality).Overall: convenient, tasty, and definitely the vibe. Would recommend.“

“Cute deli-style restaurant with lots of options for a quick work lunch, including a daily feature. Great selection of desserts too, and super nice counter staff. “I recently had to drive a group down from the comox valley to shawnigan lake and drop them off and then pick them up 6 hours later. I knew I needed a coffee and came across a neat convenience store right near the lake , but just didn’t feel like the gas station / convenience store coffee on this day so I googled “best coffee in shawnigan Lake” and got a direct hit with Shawnigan House Coffee and chocolate ! Well!! Let me tell you !!! After sitting down with a caramel latte and starting light chat with a few customers and the staff, I found myself in the exact spot 4 hours later !!! I read an amazing paper, I bought some local art from a local artist that they kindly display and sell for them and I most importantly met the amazing owners and found an incredible energy and something pretty special from one of the new staff and very good friends if the owners! You could not ask for anything more from a local business from a world class guest experience than here! We even had resident Turkeys that came by for a visit !! How cool is that!!! The snacks are great, the coffee is hot and savory, the music is chill , but most importantly the company and hospitality from the staff is dreamy!!! Thank you for an amazing day while I made my first visit to your secret utopia at Shawnigan Lake ! It definitely won’t be my last. See you all very soon!!! PS: they’ll even throw a rugby game on their big screen if you ask them nicely !!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. A+++++++++“

“Very nice coffee place! Atmosphere was a little hectic given the constraints and how popular it is, you end up waiting in line over people's shoulders as they sit. The coffee (latte) had a good overall espresso flavour without being too strong or burnt.“

“Although I am not exactly the target audience for an English Tea room, I have to say that Butchart far exceeded any expectations! Although we have been to the Gardens many times over the last 4 decades, this is the first time that my wife suggested that we take “High Tea” before our stroll through the amazing gardens... And of course it proved to be a wonderful idea as I relished every bite and sip (we also had the 3-glass “taster” which paired with the food nicely)... I will absolutely be taking tea on our next visit!“
