“Had a family birthday breakfast here, mostly because they were the only place I called that would give me a reservation. What a great choice! Food was very good and the waiter's service (George I think) was absolutely top notch, very accommodating of special orders and small children. Pricing very reasonable. I will definitely be back.Vegetarian options: I asked for a vegetarian hash (not on the menu, although there is a vegetarian omelet) and it was delicious.Kid-friendliness: Kids loved the food! very happy.“
“Argo Burger topped with bacon, cheese, fried onions and egg is served alongside a mound of fries. Delicious, whether eaten hot or cold. Fried chicken burger is one of the best in town. Fish and chips came with equal amounts of both, which translates into lots. Creamy Chicken chili con queso and heaping plateful of Spicy lamb on their respective beds of rice were stick-to-your-bones good. Then there's the home-baked pie and the OMG butter tart! If you're searching for comfort food with a serving of easy hospitality, this old-school Mount Pleasant diner is where you'll find it. #EastVanLoveRules“
“Love love love this place. Been coming here for years for their milkshakes and deep-fried Mars bars. Quite a few things have been filmed here too, such as the very first scene in the pilot episode of The Mentalist. I recognized it immediately and got all excited lol. This place is a staple on Granville.50s-style diners in the Lower Mainland are a rare thing now, it seems. As you get out to places like Hope or Maple Ridge, you see SO many more of these cozy, classic diners. There used to be a real nice one on the corner of King George Blvd. and 100th Ave a while back but this was the 2000s and I was still young, so I don't even remember what it was called. The Templeton is such a casual but intimate space. I love how you have to go through the kitchen if you want to use the tiny washroom. That might sound inconvenient or unconventional to most people, but to a pretentious hipster like me, it's super charming. I love stuff like that. The only thing these guys are missing is serving their drinks in mason jars. That was a joke.Anyways, the servers are always super nice and of course, the food is always fantastic. It's always a great spot to spontaneously decide to dine at while walking down Granville with some friends. Or you could even be daring and make a premeditated decision to eat here. Up to you.“
“Went here again yesterday with my sister. Friendly neighborhood dinner that I will miss because I am moving out of the neighborhood. Everyone is so nice. I love how they have floats here, not a lot of restaurants serve those anymore. The brunch items are pretty good, I do like the egg bennies and hash brown. This place has a cozy and homey feel to it which is cute.“
“First Time at this restaurant. can't wait to go back! Eggs, Betty on crab cakes were more delicious than I have words for. Service is quick, food comes out FAST and tastes even better than it looks! Our server was Jenna, fighting her way through the line ups. She was friendly and attentive.Try it!“
“Their cold noodles are rice noodles and taste good. I always want the chili oil to be very spicy because it’s actually not too spicy. It’s mainly fragrant. If you’re afraid of the spiciness, you can pour a little less. I feel like the chili oil is freshly made on a regular basis and is added with sesame juice. The sauce is very comfortable when pressed together“
“I was so grateful that the staff there found room for over 10 of us. We had just played hockey and we’re really really hungry. The place was absolutely packed. Everybody seemed really happy and seemed to be really enjoying their meals. I chose an omelet that didn’t have cheese and I had asked if there was cheese, but I think there was just a bit of a complication and I didn’t get cheese. I didn’t really enjoy my meal, but everyone else at my table really really enjoyed their meals. I’m definitely going to come back and try something different. The price point is amazing, the most affordable food I’ve seen in a long time. The plates were huge. The staff was really great about making sure we had coffee and taking care of all our needs. Overall, I definitely had a great experience.Vegetarian options: The omelet that I ordered was vegetarian. There was no cheese in it.“
“The staff at the basic are incredible! I was having a really rough day, and ordered for pickup. On the phone I asked the women for an order of sanity at the end. She laughed said “oh I’ll try” Not expecting anything but a laugh. I went to pick up the food and was pleasantly surprised to find some “sanity” in my order. It honestly made my day.“
“Pretty good place, with good food! We had a simple breakfast of eggs with bacon and toast and was cooked well. I found the food pretty light (not greasy at all, which diners can commonly do), but maybe wasn't my taste since the food was a bit bland. Wasn't bad with a little salt and pepper.Service was great, seated right away and friendly staff. Atmosphere was what you can expect of a diner. Prices were okay, maybe a little high for an egg breakfast but not unreasonable.“
“The atmosphere was really clean and gave off modern diner vibes! Nice place for brunch. I didn’t realize they had a trivia night and a boozy brunch! I’m curious what the price of boozy brunch would be but either way it was a good time. I also loved how they make their own hot sauces in house. I absolutely love hot sauce so was super excited to try it out. The green sauce was the spiciest while the red sauce was the mildest. I actually liked the yellow one the best which was right in the middle of spicy but had an interesting vinegar profile to it.“
“Food was incredible. Simon was an absolute gem and helped out myself and my friends visiting the area and Squamish. He gave us a full breakdown of the great spots to hit complete with a written list of attractions and instructions. Can‘t recommend this diner enough!“
“Amazing food and friendly service. Wait can get long if you’re coming during weekend mornings, but I’d say it’s worth the wait. I really enjoyed my Salmon Eggs Benedict. The tater tots in the bowl were not the frozen ones I expected, they tasted delicious and crunchy. The coffee was just okay, I didn’t like it a lot so next time I’ll try one of their speciality drinks.“
