“We just finished a fantastic dinner with our family at the always fabulous Shogun restaurant. This was the first visit our two daughters (16 and almost 5 years old) have had, while my husband and I have been a couple times before. We were seated at our table quickly and service started right away with great food & drinks recommendations by our server Nitten. We were treated to a great show by our Teppenakki chef, Sang. Our food we ordered was cooked perfectly and the girls especially loved the performance. Thanks again, and we will all see you again!”

“On Wednesday, Nov.22, a group of 15 seniors dined for lunch at Moxies. The meal and all were great. On the way out I fell. My friend went back into the restaurant and asked for help getting me on my feet. Morgan and a young man that was helping at our table came out and helped me get on my feet. I want to thank them so much for going beyond what they had to do. They were so kind. Many, many thanks again.”

“We were seated in the main area of the restaurant which was not good for me as I have severe hearing loss. We asked if there was a quieter spot but none were available at that time. A couple minutes later a table came available in the corner and the waitress came and moved us. We are very appreciative for them accommodating us. The food was excellent, one of the better suppers I have had in a long time and I could communicate with my wife. The service was very good and we will be coming back very soon. Thank You”

So may options for those looking to delight their taste buds- soups are all wonderful. Treats are out of this world. I wish the parking situation in downtown PG was better- but it wouldn't stop me from coming here even if I had to park a mile away and walk LOL.”

“My first choice when going out for lunch, dinner, or my birthday! Without fail, every single time I go to the winery I am in absolute adoration with this place. The building itself is beautiful, and has a neat history. The views are gorgeous year-round. Every single event I have gone to has been spectacular. When ever friends and family come from out of town Northern Lights is my FIRST suggestion. This is literally my favourite restaurant! The staff is amazing! I really appreciate all the hard work Erin and Jackson put in along with everyone else that works there! There was a young woman working the tasting counter the last time my boyfriend and I stopped in and she was absolutely fabulous and incredibly knowledgeable! (Sorry I didn’t catch your name.) We always order enough to take home and feed us for a couple days as it’s such a treat. The staff, including the cook whom we asked to meet were gracious and lovely. Only downfall was they kept their red wine in a fridge. Red wine should be cool or room temperature not cold! But, that’s a minor flaw… walked away happy!”

“First time at the Oakroom Grill, we went for the live music. (Mike Vigano 🎶) We ordered the fish and chips and the 10oz Steak and Lobster Tail. Everything was unbelievably delicious and perfectly cooked. Our server was Ashley-Paige, and she was stellar! Friendly and efficient. 😁 We were so impressed with everything that we ordered dessert. The Strawberry Crème Brûlée was superb! I have had some really bad restaurant experiences lately, so this was a very nice surprise. 10/10 recommend.”

I moved my morning coffee location because the service was poor at this location, gave it a shot again about a month ago in a rush one morning and she has been serving me everyday since. She is so cheery and nice!”

“I visited Tim Hortons today and ordered a French Vanilla with steamed milk. Most of the time my order gets messed up, but this time IAN took my order and he was excellent. He listened carefully, prepared my drink exactly how I wanted, and was very friendly throughout. The coffee was perfect — the best I’ve had here. Great service and great communication from him. He deserves recognition for doing his job so well.”

I don’t understand why it’s not on the regular menu here. I believe Quiznos Canada has already made it a permanent item, but in Prince George, it’s still only seasonal.

Without the lobster sub, Quiznos just feels like any other sub chain to me.
I haven’t seen any other restaurants in Prince George offering a lobster sub as a regular menu item.
Please consider making it permanent! 🙏”

“This place is an absolute enigma and I'm giving it five stars out of sheer, puzzled delight.

I roll in on a Friday evening, peak dinner time, right? I swear this place can easily seat over a hundred people—it's enormous. And yet, there were only 4 people total in there the entire time I was there. 4. On a Friday. That is beyond suspect; it's practically a cinematic event. Are they money laundering? Is this a front for a secret government meeting? I was ready to start looking for surveillance equipment.

However, I have to confess: the food was amazing, and I had the run of the place. The Caesar salad was delicious and crisp—perfectly executed. And the ribs? They genuinely fall off the bone. Not the best ribs I've ever had, but absolutely good enough to justify the trip. The service was friendly, probably because they had literally nothing else to do but wait on me and the other 3 confused souls.

Here's my main problem, though, and it’s why I’m rating it so high: I loved the personal service and the great food, but I honestly don't see how this place will stay afloat without any customers. It’s a spectacular, delicious failure of capitalism, and I highly recommend you get in there and enjoy the private dining experience while it lasts. Go quickly before the lights turn off for good!”
