“Amazing quality, presentation of food, prepared by the best talent in the city. Outstanding service with elegant drinks and cocktails complimentary to the food dish selection on the menu. staff is very friendly. hands down one of the best places in Vancouver to spend a evening.“
“If you’re looking for an amazing dining experience with a chill vibe in an intimate setting, this is the place! One of my favourite places!Love the ever-changing curated menus filled with seasonal delights! The food is incredible and always so beautifully plated. A treat for all the sense. The staff is also amazing! Their knowledge of the food and the wines truly makes the experience special each time! I was there last night and am already looking forward to my next visit!“
“Came here on a rainy afternoon for a few pints. The vibe is really cool - kind of like a grandmas basement, but in a really neat way.Service was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.We just stopped in for a few beers, but could definitely come back to try the food.Great little Vancouver spot.“
“We were looking for something local to the area and found The Magnet based in its high reviews. There were no more available reservations so we went when they opened at 4pm and were able to get an open table. There was a Whitecaps game later that evening and the restaurant filled up fast. Got the Magnet Charcuterie Board and a sausage roll along with beers and a cider. Loved the sausage roll: it’s made to order and was very large. Not your usual deli sausage roll. The server was excellent: patient, knew the food, gave suggestions and did not hurry us. Atmosphere was comfortable and the food great. Prices were very good.“
“Nammos is the best! Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Don’t miss out on the Tirokafteri (whipped feta dip), or the Melitzana Imam (baked eggplant with feta foam). For the meat eaters, the roast lamb ‘Arni Psito’ is insane. Comes with the best mashed potatoes I’ve ever had. The cocktails are delicious. I love the Fraola (Strawberry Tequila sour).“
“I've come here quite a few times, and it is consistently one of my favourite places in Vancouver. The food is always phenomenal and--while I definitely have favourites ( I love the Yuzu Kara-Kara Age bowl) -- I always feel compelled to try something new here, because every item on their menu has that signature feel to it.The service is amazing (though sometimes they definitely seem busy), the staff are always incredibly friendly and all seem to enjoy working there. The atmosphere is super energetic in the restaurant.Dietary restrictions: They asked about allergies before ordering, and there appears to be a wide variety of options on the menu. If you are pescatarian there are more than enough options to choose from!“
“Loved the atmosphere, service, drinks, and oysters. Oysters were served with cucumber puree-like things, which was super refreshing. Drinks were great with lots of options. The salad we ordered came with chunks of lobsters. Yum. Overall, I recommend to come and enjoy your life at this bar.“
“This is by far my favourite spot in Vancouver!!The dill pickle wings, the honey garlic wings and the superb service by Alysha is what we keep coming back for. Seriously, THE BEST WINGS EVER!! The Moose rocks!! Keep on keepin' on, guys!“
“Love the little plates and 3 for $15 appetizer choice! You get to taste a lil bit of everything. It’s always quite packed here and hard to get a spot, but the food is really great! Star of the show was the daifuku strawberry dessert with green tea ice cream, yum!“
“Love love love this place. Been coming here for years for their milkshakes and deep-fried Mars bars. Quite a few things have been filmed here too, such as the very first scene in the pilot episode of The Mentalist. I recognized it immediately and got all excited lol. This place is a staple on Granville.50s-style diners in the Lower Mainland are a rare thing now, it seems. As you get out to places like Hope or Maple Ridge, you see SO many more of these cozy, classic diners. There used to be a real nice one on the corner of King George Blvd. and 100th Ave a while back but this was the 2000s and I was still young, so I don't even remember what it was called. The Templeton is such a casual but intimate space. I love how you have to go through the kitchen if you want to use the tiny washroom. That might sound inconvenient or unconventional to most people, but to a pretentious hipster like me, it's super charming. I love stuff like that. The only thing these guys are missing is serving their drinks in mason jars. That was a joke.Anyways, the servers are always super nice and of course, the food is always fantastic. It's always a great spot to spontaneously decide to dine at while walking down Granville with some friends. Or you could even be daring and make a premeditated decision to eat here. Up to you.“
“Wildlight is spectacular!! The chowder is the best I have ever had. It was the most amazing dinning experience. The appetizers, mains, specials, deserts - it’s a taste bud explosion of perfection. Love it and recommend anyone who loves fine food with a creative and delicious flare go to WILDLIGHT. The staff are both informative and attentive. Way to go!!“
“Hands down, best izakaya place in Vancouver. Love the cozy atmosphere! It absolutely reminds me of the Izakayas in Roppongi Hills and the food has all the authentic ingredients used in Japan with consistent quality and taste. The only thing is the cost has gone up after COVID but it’s understandable because of the negative setbacks it had on businesses! I would recommend coming here for a date night or party; overall, a great and fun place to go to.“
“I brought my mom to Published on Main on a mother-daughter night out. The food was amazingly delicious, and service top-notch. We had a memorable night together sharing love and a wonderful culinary experience. Will definitely return for more!“
“Food is surprisingly good. The Hyde signature burger normally comes with its own selection of sides, but I asked for a yam fries upgrade and was pleasantly surprised to see that they came out as crispy as McD's fries ?!As much as I hate admitting it, everyone knows that no one beats McDonald's in a game of fries. And if you're a fan of yam fries, you also know how hard it is to get a crisp portion at a corner burger joint. Well, these guys nailed it!Burger was equally solid, but I was still feeling hungry, so I also ordered their Chicken Caesar wrap, this time with regular fries. The wrap was de-li-cious, but somehow those fries unexpectedly came out soft and soggy ?.A little baffled how they messed up regular fries after that magical yam experience, but there ya go.Admittedly, I'm a fries snob, but if it weren't for that second portion, I'd give them 5 stars.“
“I moved to Vancouver last June, and can safely say this has been my favourite restaurant experience so far. The service was fantastic, everything arrived to our table in a timely manner & the food was nothing short of excellent. Me and my girlfriend still smile about our experience here! Cannot wait to come back, highly recommend the Baklava & Gelato for dessert!Dietary restrictions: Entirely Vegan!“
“It was a loved one's celebration dinner and they picked this spot to visit. I hadn't heard of this place before but we found out they're part of the Zakkushi group. There was a large variety of food and drinks! We enjoyed many snacks alongside some beer (Sapporo) & sake (but forgot to note down the name of the sake - oops). The restaurant is decorated with a lot of sake bottles and even the washrooms had a lot of sake labels or bottle caps. It was a neat touch. We received great & attentive service and the vibe is energetic but cozy. The food was a little slow to come out but it was quite tasty and fresh so we didn't mind too much! Some of our favourites were the Uni miso hotate ($18), beef yuke ($18.50), ikayaki ($18), uzura maki or quail eggs wrapped in sliced pork skewer ($4.10), and the negitongue skewer ($4.70). The food is more on the pricy side since they're also smaller portions, but it's a nice spot for a special occasion!“
“We came here for dinner with a reservation. We got the chicken meatball hot pot ($19.00), corn tempura ($10.00), Unagi Omelet ($18.00), Hotate Nigiri ($8.00 for 2), 2 blue fin fatty nigiri ($18.00), 2 blue fin nigiri ($13.00) and 2 sakes. The corn tempura was my least favourite out of everything. They fry it with the corn on the cob which makes it really hard to eat. The corn was also not sweet enough. The chicken meatball hot pot is pretty spicy because of the pepper but I love the cabbage and clear noodles. The chicken meatballs were really soft and delicious. The scallop nigiri was absolutely delicious. It was sweet and succulent. The fatty blue fin nigiri was melt in your mouth delicious. I prefer it to the blue fin nigiri but of course it's also more than double the price. The unagi omelet was really soft and had quite a bit of unagi in it but I wouldn't order this again. This little sushi store at the corner of 4th and alma is like a small piece of Japan. The owners are Japanese and mostly regulars come here. I love their sushi and would come back for it.“
“Super chill vibe, tried both their fish and plant based options, their portions are generous and filling and the people were super nice. Also a plus it wasnt extremely crowded. Def a go to spot for mexican food! I dont write reviews often but this really hit the “
“A good place for Kushikatsu. I really like the eel Kushikatsu since it is the first eel that can melt in my mouth! We forgot to take pictures for pork cheek which has a really good taste. Pineapple drink is not that sweet but try to dig some real pineapple from the pineapple container you will find it is really sweet!“
“The best & most unique dining experience I’ve had in Vancouver in a very long time. Delicious food, excellent service and such a great atmosphere. My partner and I both went for the cheese & charcuterie and were struggling to speak to each other as every bite was so amazing! Every food item has a story behind it and our server was so knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend coming here to anyone visiting from out of town or anyone living in Vancouver for a cosy date night. Can’t wait to go back.“
“I came here for dinner before and had a wonderful experience so I invited my friend for brunch since it was her birthday. The service was attentive and and the drink & food taste wonderful. It was very elegant and prepare for the eyes and your stomach. I would definitely come back and bring my family to enjoy their food and atmosphere.“
“The environment is beautiful. Very well decorated and the chairs are nice. I ordered a polenta dish at brunch that was extremely spicy. I struggled to eat it. I couldn't taste anything else in the dish because the pepper was so strong in the sauce. I also ordered the Belgard coffee and honestly found it quite bland. The espresso was good. We were attended to by Taylor. The place wasn't full but she served us as if she was in a hurry so we could order quickly and leave. We have lived in Vancouver for at least 3 years. We are used to the North American way of wanting to make the tables turn quickly, but she made a point of making this very evident in the way she spoke to us. The hostess (Esther) was very friendly.“
“Such an amazing venue! We celebrated my boyfriend’s 30th Halloween bday bash and everyone had a blast. From booking the venue to the service on the day of, it was smooth and easy. We had about 50 guests and everyone had nothing but good things to say. The server and bartender were so professional and fun. Will definitely book this venue again in the future.“
“We sat in the upstairs room on the floor and had a great experience. The cocktails were yummy and the food was delicious. Really enjoyed the beef sukiyaki hotpot and the potato-mochi. They also have different daily specials you can try. Would definitely go again!“
“A total city hidden gem. Tucked away on the roof of Honolulu Coffee, this place serves authentic and delicious Japanese eats. During the day, there’s loads of natural sunlight that floods the space beautifully and during the summer their rooftop patio with city views is a real bonus.Vegetarian options: They have vegan bento box options.Kid-friendliness: They have kid combos.“
“Rude server - My wife's first experience going out after giving birth. The male server peaked over her shoulder while she paid and made a rude comment when he saw she tipped 'only' 15% on a $20 cocktail. Completely ruined her night. Train your staff better.“
“Decided to come here because another very popular ramen place next door had a 45-minute wait while Kokoro had empty tables, and after eating the food, let me tell you, it is an injustice that this place isn't getting a similar amount of business.I had the Mentaiko Cream Mazesoba, and it was amazing; a porky, fishy, garlicy, peppery taste explosion in a creamy sauce that coats your whole mouth with bold flavors, and thick noodles, cut to the perfect length to fill your mouth, and so chewy you get addicted to eating them. It really captures the taste of authentic Japanese food, and reminded me of my travels in Japan. For the price point, you can get any of the 3 bowl sizes AND, with mazesoba, you get a side of rice to mix into the remaining sauce in the bottom of your bowl, which comes out to quite a bit of food. I was definitely satisfied.I came here as an alternative to another restaurant, but it deserves so much better. Now, whenever I'm in the neighborhood, I'm choosing this place first, for sure.HIGHLY recommend.“
“Great Spanish Catalan inspired tapas. Everything we tried was fantastic, from the clams to the charcuterie boards to the wines. Fantastic service, including having the owner Phillip and head chef Antonio stop by to check on our experience. We loved the atmosphere, it transported us back to a time in Spain enjoying the culture, music and heart and soul food.“
“This place was absolutely amazing. I had to give it all 5 stars just because of the service I received. From friendly amazing customer service. The way this place is managed was something Vancouver has been lacking for a very long time. Food was good, ate a lot; but have to say was there for more for the drinks and atmosphere.“
“??Chicken liver: Roasted just right, slightly cooked but not fishy at all, the liver has a dense texture and a rich charcoal smoke flavor, one bite is amazing!??Chicken heart: It is also roasted very tender, not tough at all, and tastes the same as liver ?Premium beef tongue: This one is slightly chewy, roasted a bit too chewy and not chewy.??Quail egg pork: Very fragrant but a little oily, you can add some salt ?Chicken ball: Just average, the teriyaki juice is quite delicious but it is not coated on the meatballs and can only be eaten as a dip“
“Unlike the other insulting overpriced noodle place in the neighborhood, Kokoro's price is decent, food is amazing. They even have low carbs noodles option! I like it so much I tried the whole menu. Hands down my favourite comfort food restaurant in the neighborhood.“
“This is one of my absolute favourite spots in Vancouver. I travelled through Portugal and tried cod croquettes everywhere there and never found any I liked better than the ones at Como. Grateful to have this little gem of a restaurant in our neighborhood!“
“Craft beer and dim sum! Yes, they do go together well. Their dim sum is pretty good. My only mistake was ordering too many fried staff. I would recommend to balance it out and include some more steamed or boiled so that you don’t get stuffed too much.I understand this is not a brewery but wish a bit more variety of beers.“
“First time at this place & will defo come back. There were 3 of us and we shared the appies of calamari & pasta btavad & the mixed seafood paella. All delish!!! Service was great & enjoyed the enthusiastic, upbeat vibe of the place. Interesting posters & images. Fun & great Spanish tastes. Thank you!!!“
“Could not be happier with how my event went at the Living Room! Not only was booking the space made super easy by Kylene on the Events Team, but the service provided to us the night of from Shay was excellent! Both ladies were extremely attentive and lovely to work with. The food was delicious (we order many servings of the bao buns and dumplings) and cocktails were excellent ? I would absolutely have another event, or smaller gathering with friends, there. As for the ambiance, as someone who went to the Belmont frequently before the renovations, I'm very impressed with the facelift its been given!“
“Loved it here - a last minute google find for birthday drinks before dinner. The staff were so friendly, the espresso martini was one of the best I’ve ever had and the rosemary fries and curry mayo were delicious! Also VERY good value for money during happy hour!“
“Great place for sushi. Would recommend making a booking as it was pretty busy on a Wednesday evening. The aburi sushi platter was great! The double spicy tuna roll was also really good. Service was good and overall a great sushi experience.“
“Robba da Matti (Yaletown) is a charming Italian restaurant nestled in the heart of Vancouver's trendy Yaletown district. This family-owned gem offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for both romantic dinners and gatherings with friends or family. The menu boasts a wide array of authentic Italian dishes, with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients. Standouts include their handcrafted pastas, which are made in-house daily, and their delicious, wood-fired pizzas. The wine list is thoughtfully curated, featuring a selection of Italian wines that perfectly complement the food.“
“I haven’t been to a lot of Irish pubs but I must say that this one is pretty good!We went on St. Patrick’s day to celebrate and they had a live band and a try so dancing performance. The interior is pretty well decorated and the overall atmosphere is fantastic. We sat in the patio which gave us a great view of the ocean. The beer was good, just in green. The food was typical bar food, nothing really memorable with maybe the exception of fish and chips. If you are looking for an Irish pub with great atmosphere, I would definitely recommend it!“
“Just went to this restaurant earlier today. We went with my family to try something new, and we were craving Japanese cuisine. Food was good. The sashimi salad was fairly large, with diced tuna, partially grilled salmon (my favourite), and scallops. Great portion and taste for $15.80! The grilled salmon bento box tasted good. 2 pieces of grilled salmon were provided, garnishes, a veggie salad with dressing, rice, and a potato salad. Great portion for only $15.80. The grilled mackerel bento box, like the others, was cheap and large ($14). Everything was the same between the two bento boxes except the fish served. I found the mackerel to be a little over salted... rice, salads, and garnishes were all decent. Miso soups were served with the bento boxes, also a bit too salty for me. Still drinkable, with an abundance of tofu, seaweed, and green onion. Service was good, immediately provided us with menus and water/tea right as we were seated. Food took about 15-20 minutes to come. The atmosphere was nice with quiet music playing in the background. If you're someone that can't walk very well up/down stairs, you have to walk up two flights of stairs to reach the seating area. Overall, good place for a meal on a cold rainy day! May come back again with friends to bring“
“Saw a video of a few Canuck players boasting how great it was here. Had to try it out. It was a game day, so the place was booked up. Needed a reservation to get in. Went during happy hour and had a few margaritas that did not disappoint. Ordered the Carpassio and Salmon Tartar. Both were great! For a main we had a pizza half and half. Shrimp and meatlovers. My fiancee and I preferred the shrimp pizza tbh. We plan on coming back to try all the different pizza options. The bottom crust was perfect. The crust on the end had a few large bubbles that burned up. All in all...4 outta 5!“
“Eli was great! ??????phenomenal customer service✖️the food was fired ???from the presentation to the customer service this place is hands down 5 star restaurant.Drinks were on point and the dessert ???Killer ????Loved it ? ? ?? recommended ????????????“
“This little spot is a hive of activity. Second Valentine's Day for my partner at this cracker of a restaurant. They have the sweetest staff, vibrant atmosphere. Serving the freshest, yummiest food. I have an iodine allergy (shell fish) the staff were excellent in keeping that in mind when ordering. Definitely worth repeat visits.Dietary restrictions: Allergies“
