“My wife and I recently went to St Lawrence to have their tasting menu. In my own personal opinion, this restaurant serves not just well developed flavors, but moods and feeling with each dish.To start with, a light fluffy cheese filled inside a ravioli shaped cracker. Next, a light and airy oyster soaked in sauce and foam - this is the best oyster I’ve eaten, and I live in the PNW.Next, an incredibly light thinly sliced scallop on top of a sunchoke with the delicious minced texture.Another standout dish was the sablefish with lentil and a a red wine sauce- if you’ve never had anything like this, all I can say is that the sauce has a flavor so warm and rich, you feel like you’re tasting warm sunlight. The beet terrine with preserved lemon and horseradish ice cream is the type of thing you would find at a French Michelin star restaurant in that it’s a combination of flavor and art. For me, these types of dishes feel like something I’ve never tasted before and push my boundaries. The staff went way above and beyond to make us feel welcome and they were very accommodating.I won’t spill all the secrets but if you want a taste of high French while also feeling casual and relaxing, this is a great place to experience new things for your palette. Would recommend.“

“You have to spoil yourself and go here for dinner. We went as a group of 4, the steak tartar was amazing as was the frois Gais brulee. As for my main, I went with the special of the night which was tempura lobster on top of a seafood pasta with fish. The star of the show was definitely the duck and sweet bread. The service was attentive and amazing.“

“Absolutely unmatched food and service. Probably one of the best examples of food, service and care ever received. The staff outdid themselves, going over and above the call to ensure that our visit was exceptional with personal and attentive care throughout our meal and at all levels. We are not easily awed and the food as well as the service were without question 'awesome'. The food was fantastic from start to finish with every nuance and flourish designed with thought and care to further enhance the amazing flavors being presented. Thanks to the staff, from Table to Chef, for such a wonderful experience.“

“First time dining here - our server was so nice and attentive. The food was interesting and lovely! I ordered the duck starter and it wasn't really my vibe, but I could definitely appreciate the quality of it. However, the scallops main course was amazing! Soft buttery scallops, creamy potato, creamed spinach - it was to die for! Then to finish off, the chocolate lava cake - which again, was amazing! I also tried The Black Fairy cocktail, which was so tart and crisp. It's been a while since I had found somewhere that serves absinthe, and it was lovely to see they offer drip too!Would definitely come back! Thank you :)“

“Our U9 team was in town Feb 4-5 and Deb and her team were thrilled to host us - not all restaraunts would open up 3/4 of their space to that age group. Our meal and service from start to finish was simply outstanding. Highly recommend what a gem of a restaraunt.“

“Argo Burger topped with bacon, cheese, fried onions and egg is served alongside a mound of fries. Delicious, whether eaten hot or cold. Fried chicken burger is one of the best in town. Fish and chips came with equal amounts of both, which translates into lots. Creamy Chicken chili con queso and heaping plateful of Spicy lamb on their respective beds of rice were stick-to-your-bones good. Then there's the home-baked pie and the OMG butter tart! If you're searching for comfort food with a serving of easy hospitality, this old-school Mount Pleasant diner is where you'll find it. #EastVanLoveRules“

“The decor and atmosphere is cool and relaxing. Took my wife and family for her birthday. Staff were very attentive and the food was beyond amazing. They were perfectionists when it came to the taste of their dishes. Two from our party are vegans and very impressed. The restaurant's location, 132 Powell St, is away from the nightmare called the downtown Eastside. A quick drive from North Vancouver. We needed a change from Indian Fusion and this restaurant was well worth the drive.“

“Opted for the tasting menu. The sablefish and sweetbreads were big highlights, but the whole meal was delicious, and reasonably priced for its quality. Also enjoyed the Wasabi Makhana, Old Quarter, and Smoke And Spice cocktails, plus a light and fresh tequila creation from bartender Kingsley. Speaking of, Kingsley and our server, Jordan, were friendly, attentive, and had good recommendations for the rest of our last night in Vancouver. Go here for a nice date night.“

“I ordered the halibut risotto and it was very tasty. The scallops were done just right - tender and soft. The halibut is a tad overcooked but the sauce makes up for it.We both ordered the combo menu and were happy with the portion and the quality of service. The restaurant went from quiet at 5:30 to nearly full in 30 minutes. So it is recommended to make a reservation on the weekend.“

“Went for early dinner on a Wednesday. 1/2 price wine a bonus. Server sweet and attentive. Prix fixe is beyond filling. Tried the cevice, mango salad and both pastas and liked them all. Leftovers for lunch too! Decor is upbeat, clean and well maintained. Quiet too. All in all a nice casual unpretentious addition to the neighborhood. Not gourmet but a place you will want to go back to. Will bring friends next time.“

“Excellent French café. Unpretentious with fine dining. The tartare de boeuf, steak frîtes, french onion soup and duck confit were equal to other restaurants but half the price. More café than dining room. A bottle of Chateaubeuf du Pape and the evening is complete. We highly recommend this spot.“

“When you don’t know what kinds of pastries to eat, just go to L’Atelier, it will not disappoint you!I never write any review before in Google, but feel like I should leave a good one to compliment this cute cafe! The chef is very welcoming to all guests. They always use the freshest ingredients to make the good stuff, I usually choose the breakfast sandwich and croissant as it is very flaky and buttery, but this time I choose the chocolate hazelnut trianon and the Vanilla Flan this time, it’s not too sweet, the vanilla flavor is strong enough, and the hazelnut one is nutty, worth for a try! ??“
“Great place to learn or practice your French! I just started an intermediate course there and so far it's great. The teacher is very knowledgable, they have a library where you can pick some books to take home, they also organize different activities so people can get together and practice. The staff is super nice and helpful. I recommend you check out this place if you're looking for a francophone community in Vancouver ?“

“Ok - I found this spot on the Michlin guide app. and decided I had to pop in. We didn’t have a lot of time but I was hoping we might get a spot for a dish or two to try. When I explained to the staff- she sat us right away and brought out wine and two of her favorite selections to try. The roasted cabbage and the endive salad. WOW! We were so blown away.Grateful to this amazing chef and staff for making a quick bite memorable. I’ll be back for sure!!“

Fabrice and his wife take excellent care to offer their clients the highest quality breads, croissants and sandwiches in the neighborhood. It's like your're back in France for a brief escape. We come out from Surrey to pick up fresh croissants, Chocolatines, Ham & Cheese croissants and and Epiphany must... A Galette Des Rois.“

“Cute French restaurant at the bottom of Vancouver house. Replaced Ça Marche Crêperie but same vibe and layout. Not very big but cozy. No reservations and no takeout. It was Valentine's Day and we were able to snag a seat at the bar. It was fun watching the chefs cook and plate in front of us. We got the beef tartare and mussels to share. Beef tartare was fresh and not too heavy. The beet sauce was a great addition. The mussels were delicious and well seasoned. Came with hot crispy fries.—Nice authentic spot for crepes at the Vancouver house underneath the Granville bridge. It is a very small restaurant though, so be sure to go early since there are no reservations and no takeout. I got the jambon cru ($24). It is a little pricey for a crepe but I loved all the ingredients and how fresh the savoury buckwheat crepe tasted.“

“Very solid French/Vietamese restaurant with variety of options. We tried pho (northern style) and duck rotisserie and were happy with both. Their spicy condiment definitely helped elevate both dishes. Parking is difficult to find around restaurant.“

“went here during the vancouver hot chocolate festival in mid-january. we got the matcha mont blanc hot chocolate and the hot chocolate croissant supreme. since we went during a busy time, we had to wait around 30 minutes outside, but with an umbrella it wasn't so bad. the staff were extremely patient with us despite the long line, and both the items we ordered did not disappoint, with the croissant being perfectly crispy and buttery and the matcha being the best i've had.“

“Tldr - the lamb is absolutely excellent, melts in your mouth. Recommend focusing on the main course, apps (at least lobster bisque and escargot) are skippable.Chez Michel got a chic vibe and doesn't feel pretentious. This resto has a traditional style of French cuisine and it certainly takes you to another setting for this dining experience. Kelly is our waitress and she was considerate in bringing in the right items to complement our dishes (i.e. bringing in bread when we had extra lobster bisque left). We ordered the éscargot and lobster bisque for apps, both were good but not amazing. For mains, we got the poulet de vent and the lamb/beef special. The former dish had a puffy pastry that went extremely well with the chicken, and the lamb melted in our mouths. Will definitely recommend those looking for traditional French food visit this place if you're here for something else. But if you won't be in the area, don't need to get out of your way.“
