“March 31, 2024 went to this WONDERFUL restaurant that I visited 30 years ago. It STILL HAS IT—scrumptious seafood, impeccable service (Christian was great) and the cleanest washrooms in town. The cosy wood interior and lovely curated artworks as well as the warm, caring and attentive staff made for a MOST MEMORABLE EASTER FEAST. My family HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FANTASTIC RESTAURANT. I would give it ten stars out of a possible five stars if I could. It is only a very short drive over the Lion’s Gate Bridge so it is an easy drive for Vancouverites and WELL WORTH IT!”

“The food was delicious. The fish was fresh and their tempura was perfectly crisp. We had their assorted aburi and the fish was seared nicely and it felt like it melted in my mouth. Not chewy. The tempura was nicely battered not too thick. Our server was cheerful, kind and checked up on us to see how we were doing with our meal.”

“Best Sushi restaurant we’ve had in the north shore so far! It’s a perfect location from the beach.We had the Beef udon for our 3 year old and he loved it, sockeye sashimi, sockeye and avocado rolls, gyozas and the red dragon roll. The gave my son a miso soup as well because they know kids love the soup. Also a large hot sake for the wife and I. Amazing atmosphere and the food was so tasty and filling!Price: For what you get the price is on par with a lot of other sushi restaurants of this caliber. ⭐️Portion/palate: The sashimi cuts were thick and the portion per item on the menu were nice! The taste was excellent for what we ordered. ⭐️Place: It is a bit cramped going up the stairs (The restaurant is on the 2nd floor) but over all it’s cozy and the feeling is authentic. Location is right on the main road so you get all the road noise (emergency vehicles etc.)Parking is hit and miss on the main road but the back of the building it looked like there were plenty of parking spaces. We parked by the beach and walked over so it was more convenient for us. 1/2 ⭐️People: The staff were friendly and one in particular was very attentive to our needs! Thank you Nathan! ⭐️Kid-friendliness: Children plates, high chairs and lots of space when seated by the window.”
“Heard that the park Royal location was shutting down soon, and since me and my boo had our FIRST date here we had to come back and give it one last go! The food didn’t disappoint. I got the Caesar salad with prawns. Mmm heavenly… Im getting convulsions just thinking of the garlicy butter dripping off them . Caesar salad could use more dressing though. And the chicken parm was delicious! Server was also very attentive and funny. Anyways sad to see this go (this is not an omen of my relationship. Right? Right.) at least there are other locations which we will be visiting.”

“My wife and I were walking around and decided to stop for tea. What a great place to have some tea. Great atmosphere. Very nice and clean. Pastry is excellent. Tea is great. Owners are not pushy and money hungry. Great place to stop.”

It was a tiny amount of pasta with 3 pieces of octopus.”

“One of only a few favorite spots in West Vancouver. Our whole family loves it and we all highly recommend it. The food, service, and atmosphere are all excellent. Doug and Rob are the owners have created this a little Gem in West Vancouver and we are so thankful for this. They have a great team of people that work there and everyone is so attentive, caring and provide such great service. The entire menu is excellent and we have always experienced good times with family and friends on every visit. We highly recommend this restaurant and everything on the menu from apes to dessert are fantastic. Bravo!”
“Fantastic and romantic place to go if you are looking for a spacious, romantic and great quality food restaurant. Located right beside Dundarave Beach Park, the view is just speechless and amazing. Especially when you go during spring season, the fresh cool sea wind and warm sunlight makes everything enlightened.They have great menu for happy hour. The fresh oysters, steak frites and biscuit and honeycomb are my top picks. We also ordered two cocktails, to make it for the day. The Beef and Turf dinner meal amused me with large portions and very fresh and large lobster tail.I would highly suggest this restaurant and it'll be on my list for next time.”

“You want fish and chips, then go to Troll's and you will leave happy and satisfied...One piece Cod is not enough as you will need two pieces because they are so tasty...Their coleslaw is also amazing that you may need to order a side of it and the fries are delicious to the point where you will need more tartar sauce and douse those fries...mmmm....Go ahead and try them out at Horseshoe Bay and you will see why there is a line up outside to get a table inside...They are so good that their take out window is busy too...Parking: If you park in a free spot far away, it is worth the walk to Troll's so don't be discouraged as if you look around, you will find a spot”

“We were working nearby and thought that Vietnamese food is the budget option in the expensive neighbourhood. With a miner surprise. Everything is more expensive than most of Viet restaurants. Other than beef noodle soup $16.5; everything is around 20$ or up.Their beef noodle soup use higher quality of beef, which enhances the experience, the soup tastes sweet. The spring is $6 per roll and yes it is larger roll than most, but I found it too blend in the mouth feel as the stuffing lack flavors .All and all, they are above average in terms of flavours, pricey but can be justified by its location,Parking: Located at the rate of its restaurant, enter from Marine Drive”

“We had such an excellent meal here! Some of the best Thai food I've had since moving to the Vancouver area!! The phad Thai was incredible and the duck curry or Geang Phed Ped-Yang(Barbecue duck in a red curry sauce with fresh Thai basil, cherry tomatoes and pineapple) was phenomenal ? There were a couple bones still left on the duck meat so be careful when chewing. HIGHLY recommend this place if you want an extremely good authentic Thai cuisine!!! Will be going here for our Thai food from now on ?”

“Pictured: Focaccia, Sicilian Calamari, Burrata Crostini, Caprese Salad, Spaghetti & Signature Meatballs, Braised Lamb, Chicken Parmesan, Zeppole al Cioccolat, and Limoncello Trifle. Drinks: Mojito and Tiramisu Eggnog Everything was delicious but my top 3 dishes would have to be: Sicilian Calamari, Burrata Crostini, and Chicken Parm. The drinks are a must try too. I just wish the chicken Parmesan came with pasta or at least the potatoes were crispier. Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Food 5/5”

“Now and then when I need a coffee I’ll come here. It’s close by and a nice quiet place for a morning coffee before all the grumpy people wake up to go to work. I’ll sit by the window and just look out into the parking lot to pause before heading out for the daily chores. Life here is like a small town. Relaxed and less stress. A nice place to retire if you can afford it. Coffee is excellent. I bought some coffee to make at home in our coffee machine.”

“I came back from Whistler today and stopped by for dinner. The interior of the restaurant is simple and clean. I also took a special look at the kitchen, which was also very clean. In addition, the service attitude of this restaurant is very good, and the portions of the dishes are generous, which matches the price. The ingredients in every dish are very fresh, quite tasty but not salty, and the taste is just right! Although we didn't order barbecued pork a la carte, we had barbecued pork from Yangzhou fried rice, and the color and taste were authentic. The dishes in this restaurant are very suitable for those who control sugar. I like them very much and highly recommend them!”

My boyfriend has a strong gluten intolerance and they were very helpful and kind about going through all the food to make sure nothing would make him sick. They were super meticulous with the packaging, my gluten stuff separate boxes from my boyfriend’s meal. The food was awesome and a good value!”

“Fantastic and romantic place to go if you are looking for a spacious, romantic and great quality food restaurant. Located right beside Dundarave Beach Park, the view is just speechless and amazing. Especially when you go during spring season, the fresh cool sea wind and warm sunlight makes everything enlightened.They have great menu for happy hour. The fresh oysters, steak frites and biscuit and honeycomb are my top picks. We also ordered two cocktails, to make it for the day. The Beef and Turf dinner meal amused me with large portions and very fresh and large lobster tail.I would highly suggest this restaurant and it'll be on my list for next time.”

I have only ordered the chicken roll but I received friendly service when I came to pick it up, and really enjoyed the food! It is definitely a more elevated Japanese sushi and cuisine. I walked past after a day at Ambleside beach and was pleasantly surprised to see Bun Cha on the menu, something I have not had since visiting Hanoi many years back. The meal transported me back to that city and I am so thankful to have found Wooden Fish! Other restaurants have tried and it has not been as delicious. “We had such an excellent meal here! Some of the best Thai food I've had since moving to the Vancouver area!! The phad Thai was incredible and the duck curry or Geang Phed Ped-Yang(Barbecue duck in a red curry sauce with fresh Thai basil, cherry tomatoes and pineapple) was phenomenal ? There were a couple bones still left on the duck meat so be careful when chewing. HIGHLY recommend this place if you want an extremely good authentic Thai cuisine!!! They didn't taste like the usual bubble tea, but more like a smoothie with more sweetness and more ice.Usually, most people go for their brown sugar pearl milk, but I find their brown sugar options too sweet and too watered down at the same time.Getting Chatime all the time can get old, but always having new options on the menu and regular seasonal items does bring some spice and seasonal flair to their menu.For their winter menu, they seem to have brought on a number of new drinks like the pumpkin spice milk tea and the peppermint cookie star, which I am really excited to try.Chatime is one of the rare bubble tea shops that offers authentic bubble tea with as much sweetness and quality as you can find outside of Asia itself. Definitely something to try for anybody living in Vancouver or visiting Vancouver.”

“Now and then when I need a coffee I’ll come here. It’s close by and a nice quiet place for a morning coffee before all the grumpy people wake up to go to work. I’ll sit by the window and just look out into the parking lot to pause before heading out for the daily chores. Life here is like a small town. Relaxed and less stress. A nice place to retire if you can afford it. Coffee is excellent. I bought some coffee to make at home in our coffee machine.”

“This place is a great stop for dessert. The interior looks very fancy and the croissants are presented very nicely. They serve coffee, but the croissants are the main attraction here. The ordering process is quick and easy. After you purchase your croissants (we got the hazelnut croissant and butter croissant) there is a fixings bar where you can add cinnamon, cocoa, honey, milk and cream for coffee, etc. Sit-down and take-out are both very convenient. However, I feel that the quality of the food isn't awesome, and there isn't exactly a unique quality to them, but it is still a good place for a snack.Parking: Located in Park Royal, a massive parking lot is available”
