“Very warm greeting ? from both of the nice Korean waitresses as my Lady Friend and I entered Ssal Korean Bistro .I was very pleased with the layout of the menu and the choices available.I had Miso soup, Kim Chi & Bugogi and she had Soon Du Boo (Spicy Tofu Soup).They brang me frequent reloads of the Korean Pickles (Kim Chi) etc which was my favourite part so I really loved having refills of that.They were nice to check if we needed anything frequently. We had tea. It was awesome.I wonder which to try there next time?! ????? “Best Sushi restaurant we’ve had in the north shore so far! It’s a perfect location from the beach.We had the Beef udon for our 3 year old and he loved it, sockeye sashimi, sockeye and avocado rolls, gyozas and the red dragon roll. The gave my son a miso soup as well because they know kids love the soup. Also a large hot sake for the wife and I. Amazing atmosphere and the food was so tasty and filling!Price: For what you get the price is on par with a lot of other sushi restaurants of this caliber. ⭐️Portion/palate: The sashimi cuts were thick and the portion per item on the menu were nice! The taste was excellent for what we ordered. ⭐️Place: It is a bit cramped going up the stairs (The restaurant is on the 2nd floor) but over all it’s cozy and the feeling is authentic. Location is right on the main road so you get all the road noise (emergency vehicles etc.)Parking is hit and miss on the main road but the back of the building it looked like there were plenty of parking spaces. We parked by the beach and walked over so it was more convenient for us. 1/2 ⭐️People: The staff were friendly and one in particular was very attentive to our needs! “We went to the Ambleside beach and found this place nearby. We ordered pork katsu and fish katsu. The pork katsu tasted good but we all agree that the fish Katsu was the best! We highly recommend it. I love they have kid menu. The plating looks great. My son enjoyed his meal.Kid-friendliness: The kids meal includes small portions of side dishes that kids love.“
“My favourite sushi place! I honestly don’t understand the negative comments about this place cuz the quality of the food and service here never disappoint me. Their sashimi is always fresh, amazing, and worth the money. I’ve tried pretty much all of the special rolls they have on the menu and they are all sooooo good.“
“Beautiful atmosphere and fantastic service. The food is good but disappointing in some ways. It takes elements of Peruvian food and mixes them up, sometimes making dishes that are a little too spicy, too concentrated and have too many different flavors going on. Portions are small, in general. The duck is well served, with 4-5 pieces of duck breast and a good amount of rice. The octopus tagliatelle was very small. It was a tiny amount of pasta with 3 pieces of octopus.“

All parts of the restaurant were amazing, from the food to the service, to even the decor. As a native resident of the north shore area, this is by far the best sushi in this place. And to the people who rated this place one star, you truly have no taste and should try flavour for once.“
“Rolls are more expensive than the average but worth it for the flavours, quality and presentation. I have only ordered the chicken roll but I received friendly service when I came to pick it up, and really enjoyed the food! It is definitely a more elevated Japanese sushi and cuisine. Will most certainly be back to try more things on the menu!“
“Fantastic Sushi! Great prices, very fresh and always delicious! The owner/staff are super friendly and the service is always fast and efficient! Been going here for over 15 years (even followed them from their old location closer to Ambelside) and have never once been disappointed! I now travel over 30mins just to get their Sushi because no other Sushi restaurant is nearly as good. I highly recommend this place; In my opinion for the quality and the price it's the best Sushi around without a doubt! Love them!“

“The food was delicious. The fish was fresh and their tempura was perfectly crisp. We had their assorted aburi and the fish was seared nicely and it felt like it melted in my mouth. Not chewy. The tempura was nicely battered not too thick. Our server was cheerful, kind and checked up on us to see how we were doing with our meal.“
