“Had the Farro soup and IT WAS DELICIOUS! This retail boutique take-out meat market bakery space is great! They "tick" so many boxes: Vegetarian - YES Vegan - YES Carnivore - YES Omnivore - YES Sweet-tooth / sugartarian - YES Carbotarian - YES Pescatarian - YES (see canned foods / sardines) Their menu has both staple selections (rotisserie chicken, potatoes...), and a rotating selection of daily sandwiches, soups, empanadas, and more. So going there is always a surprise. And this isn't including the dried, canned, packaged, frozen & refrigerated products available. ...Back to the Farro soup, Last Saturday I went and got it and man was I in heaven! Of course I want everyone to go and patronize this place, but my main objective is to get this soup matriculated onto the daily menu roster! PLEASE. I would buy it daily! And please let us know we can get it in two sizes! I had no idea I could "supersize" when I first bought it.“

“As I was waiting hangrily 45 minutes after I placed my order and 30 minutes after the ETA on my phone this painting soothed me until I ultimately received what I drove over an hour to get. Yes, it's that good. Please order with your phone, not in person. It makes things operate more smoothly for everyone and decreases the wait time for the crack. I mean food. Well I don't know what they put in their chicken, but full disclosure you might start experiencing side effects if you don't get your fix. Consider yourself warned. It can become a pricey habit and there is no rehab to get you off their sauce. Have you twitching like Tyrone Biggums for a "Sando with training wheels".“

“Great variety of tasty dishes on the menu and the food was delicious! I loved the “secret” specials - you need to ask to find out what they are. Fun cocktail options. And, all of the dessert options were awesome! My fav was the cheeseburger - YUM! I would definitely go back!“

“On a whim, my daughter and I stopped here for lunch. We split the regular fried chicken sandwich and, I kid you not, it was the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. It was perfectly cooked. Very flavorful in all the components. Very impressed and will definitely be back the next time I'm in SF.“

“Second time eating Kokio and still delicious. Spicy wings were not too spicy. I caved and used a glove like they recommended, much better eating experience. Would be nice if the tofu balls were a little smaller, they tend to fall a part, but that hasn't stopped my husband from gorging on them.“

“The Bay Area seems to have nice places to have a good chicken sandwich. This is one of the nice places I've tried. The inside seemed a bit empty but lovely with the 'All you need is hot chicken'. Service was clunky but thorough. Waiting time was fine. I did notice that their fry selection is not too extensive. I went with waffle fries and the regular hot chicken sandwich, I believe medium was the spice level. I can recall there were layers of sweetness. The coleslaw was sweet to me, not sure if it was the pickles as well. The flavour was nice. The spice was potent but not extreme; very comfortable while I watched people pass by. Waffle fries were crispy and fresh. The sauce was more on the sweet side but a good layer of flavour. Water and utensils are self served by the doorway. Right in the middle of downtown Oakland. Easily accessible with public transport.“

“Oh my the place resembles a true image of a "hole in the wall", but Oh!, don't let the location nor look fool you. The food is absolutely amazing! The chicken will have you thinking, "This reminds me of home!" The sides were delicious too and lastly, the counter staff were very polite and respectful. “The classic sando is terrific! Really delicious! The place was busy but they still got my order out quickly, hot and fresh! A no-frills place, but a really good chicken sandwich. $20 with fries and a drink? Have you tried McDonald's lately? I'd rather have the Bird any day, and things are more expensive in the city anyway. If I lived in the neighborhood I would frequent this place. Go check it out!“

“The food here was delicious! The woman at the counter was warm and inviting, and even gave me a recommendation on what to order. (The bahmi kiao soup!) The soup had such a good sized portion of meat and noodles, and the dumplings were great too. My wife got the pad see ew - which she also loved! I tried it as well and it had a dash of sweetness which I really enjoyed. The prices were more than fair, the food was great, the Thai iced tea hit on a warm afternoon and the seating was clean and convenient. I would definitely recommend coming here!“

“Four stars because they clucked up one of the things we ordered. The Cali Cluckwich came with no tempeh bacon or avocado added on, and we didn't have time to get it fixed because we were crunched for time on a work lunch break. Without the cali ingredients added, it was a plain old classic cluckwich. Other than that, taste-wise the food was good. Also, I've always loved the customer service at the San Francisco location, the employees are always so happy and friendly. Hunny Hickory TenderClucks were delicious. “I've been meaning to try Dave's Hot Chicken for awhile after seeing their LA and Denver locations! Went to a show at the Paramount Theater and walked over to Dave's. The menu is pretty simple with their different order packages (Sliders/ tenders with sides). Went for the number 2 which comes with 2 sliders and a side of fires. It's cool you can pick two different spice levels for each slider! Got the Mild and Hot to try ($16 total). The Hot is bearable and you won't be dying for water (it's Extra Hot or higher that will get you to that burn feeling!) You can also order some of their sauce and honey to add on to your sliders and it's bomb! The fries are also cooled perfectly (and you can immediately dig right in without it burning your fingers or tongue). I'd definitely come back here!“

“I stumbled upon this place after having a few drinks at bamboo bar, and I was glad that I did! I ordered the sucio, and a side of potato salad . The chicken sandwich was made perfectly, and it was juicy! It just needed extra sauce, which came at an additional cost of $1.25, for a small container (insert sad broke face) . The potato salad needed a bit more flavor too. The service was really chill, and even offered to let me charge my phone while I was waiting! Over all I would most definitely stop by, and try my sandwich with another side.“

“A hidden gem, food was really good and arrived fast, really filling and budget friendly.Because the place is kinda hidden in a building, it was a little empty but the service and atmosphere was really nice.We ordered a beef chow fun, a garlic chicken dish (?) and assorted appetizers.The beef chow fun was so good we could have called it the best affordable in town, the beef is tender and tasty and the flat noodles are nicely sauced; the garlic chicken dish was our least favorite because of the amount of vegetables which we weren't a fan of, the assorted appetizers was a good sharing plate with a little of every appetizer, each tasty in their own way. The waitress was patient and really nice.The street it's located in has a bunch of stuff to do and more things a few streets away as well. “I hadn't been here for a couple of years but had a chicken sandwich craving. The flipped chicken sandwich I had was perfect. Filling, very tasty, reasonably priced. I was a little surprised at first at how much cole slaw was on the sandwich but one bite calmed me down. That first bite was pure heaven...and so were the rest. Service was very good, and there's nice vibe. I'll be a regular from now on.“

“Amazing food. Really good, polite service. I was with a group of 2 and we got the Ravioli and a Pepperoni sausage pizza to share. They misheard our order, and gave us a pepperocini sausage pizza instead, but we tried it and it was very high quality. It tasted really good and we got to try something we wouldn’t have otherwise. The Ravioli is really good. The plating was excellent and the fried ravioli was arranged so the sauce wouldn’t get it soggy. The Alfredo sauce tasted like it was made in house, and the chicken paired really well with it. I ordered bacon on top, and they gave me more than I was expecting, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall the meal felt very satisfying, the staff was pleasant, and it had a great atmosphere.“

“My bf and I made a pit stop here during date night in Temescal. The surrounding area is a very fun place to walk around and Burma is right next to North Star; they have a joint patio area right outside which makes it perfect for casual dining. We got the Platha & Dip which tasted amazing. The chicken was soft and tender and the Platha has such a unique texture that went great with the curry dip. The service was very quick.“

“We've gotten food from here a few years ago and weren't that impressed. We tried it again recently and pleasantly discovered it's totally delicious! All of our chicken pieces were large, juicy, and flavorful. They gave us ample salsas and tortillas, all neatly packed. “Lunch at The Roost is one of our favorites in SF. As a pescatarian, this is actually the ONLY chicken I eat, anywhere - and it is delicious. The adobo seasoning is fabulous. Cole slaw has a unique flavor that I wish I could replicate at home. Do try the sweet potato croquettes, but leave room for their brown butter cookies!“

I was going to go for the reaper level hot but they wanted me to sign a waiver so I passed. I think I will go for it next time. I usually get the two sliders and fries. “Hidden takeout spot inside a spacious Dogpatch building. Loved the larb tofu, the flavors, the crispiness. The broccoli was okay, a bit bitter, almost as if the seasoning was slightly burnt. The curry was very oily, but very delicious. Portions are on the small side, but the low prices reflect that. The person we picked up the food from was very friendly. The menu is limited, but if you're looking for some simple Thai food and flavors, some is better than nothing!“

Decided to try the, on a Friday around noon. With the farmers market in full swing in Old Oakland, I made the 15 minute walk to What the Cluck. I'd ordered ahead and my food, in a bag was waiting for me. Another 15 minutes to get back to work and needless to say the food was no longer warm. Not the fault of What theCluck and I could have heated it an oven or microwave. Opening it, like the dish, worldwide, it's relatively unimpressive looking. Lots of white from the poached chicken to the rice and the light colored broth. Still was the flavor with the price? Overall, it was satisfying, the chicken was moist and flavorful, with a nice fluffed rice with notes of chicken fat. The broth was simple by tasty and accompanied the chicken rice nicely. I did use the chili dipping sauce p, which topped off Friday meal. Would I go back? Yup! I plan on returning for this same dish and a chance to try others.. This was something a bit different from the usual Asians hole the wall places I usually favor in Chinatown.“
