They even had a kids area to hang out!We got the chicken and waffles and an omelete.The waffles were crispy with cinnamon sugar and butter and the chicken was flavorful. With a side of warm maple syrup and sausage gravy it was perfect.The omelete was nice and flavorful. The home fries were so crispy and soft. “I feel like there’s an unwritten bay area vegan rule that if you see a GATS sticker or tag, the place is solid - this spot has 3 so you know it’s real, lol. For reals though this is a go-to for my wife and I, the crew are always so damn kind and they have mad vegan options. Come get you a not-chicken sandwich (don’t be an idiot and come here and get upset it isn’t real meat), some fries with vegan ranch, and any of the drinks- they’re all good. Then post up on the patio and chill. Also if they have the pistachio praline soft serve: do it. Twice. Not a giant menu but they don’t need one… everything on it is good.Dietary restrictions: Vegan / Vegetarian only restaurant, the staff is always on point making sure you get what you ordered if you didn’t want the dairy version (thanks guys)“

“Reserved a table to celebrate my wife's birthday. I asked for a special table and they kindly accommodated my request. They seated us at the most special table there in a beautiful corner which resulted in memorable photos for us. I'd like to thank the staff again for their warm hospitality and great service. An excellent beet salad to start with, followed by this amazing artichoke appetizer. Best prepared artichoke I've ever had in my life! For my entree I had Bowl of Soul, which was like a fish stew with plenty of prawns and tender pieces of fish that I suspect might have been sea bass or cod? In any case, it was delicious! “I had an iced mocha to drink. It tasted great! To eat, I had the biscuits and gravy with eggs. The gravy was excellent, and so were the biscuits. The eggs were just a little under seasoned, but were other wise great. Staff were very friendly. It did take about 5-10 minutes to be seated though. They should hire a little extra help.“

Their menu has expanded over the years, and a lot of care is taken by the whole team to make sure the all of their offerings are really tasty and inclusive to all dietary needs.I have celiac disease, and typically feel safe eating here. They have a handful of very tasty gluten free items, and are very friendly and accommodating. I love the breakfast tacos, poke and other fish bowls, fish tacos, chicken leg plate, and the burger (with no bun). As with pretty much all places, not guaranteed to have no cross contamination, but if you want them to take extra precautions, just ask! I remind them I have celiac and they do a great job :)Dietary restrictions: Options for vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free. You can ask for accommodations too (ie no cheese, or add cabbage)“

“It's a very good food. I've been to Cafe Brazil so many times and I never got disappointed. The food was always tasty, service was good. Going again tomorrow to have another lunch with my wife and expecting to get the same quality and service we been getting thru those last couple of years. I recommend them!“

“Such a beautiful experience! Very beginner friendly and such a peaceful atmosphere. They do ask that you be digital free for the time you are there inside, so if you’re looking for a spot to reconnect or go on a first date, this is the place! Everyone was super friendly and they offer games to play. Also a good place to just sit and drink tea while reading a book! It’s 16 dollars for the table and then you pay for the tea ranging from 5-23 dollars that will literally last you for hours! And at the end of the experience if you have not been there for long, they’ll wrap the leaves for you to take home! Love love this place!!“

Not sure if things have changed since the establishment opened, but they don’t serve hot foods as they don’t have a full kitchen. All their snacks are really good though (deviled eggs, spiced nuts). The drinks are REALLY good, like the best cocktail spot in town.We came on a Wednesday at 8pm and it was pretty groovin. I would def make a reservation for a Friday or Saturday. I’ve tried walking in with just two peeps and they are almost always full. They do have a big patio but even then, it’s so packed.Brian is the only face I recognize. Didn’t see Jacob. Both are friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks. I always go with their recommendation, and it never fails.Parking is easy. They have a standalone lot they share with a restaurant and other smaller nearby businesses, but there’s also a lot of street parking. Better yet, just Uber bc you will have at least three cocktails before you leave.“

“Achilles is by far the best Mediterranean food I’ve tasted and what makes it so much better is the customer service that surrounds you. I work for a veteran nonprofit, and I chose Achilles by the sea for a food option. The owner Elias personally reached out to me, and I have never ever received such kindness and support that I received from him. He is such a great guy, and the food that he prepares for his customers is beyond, amazing. I cannot explain how grateful we are for the support of Achilles. The veterans were so grateful and they all complemented on how great the dinner was. So, on behalf of Operation Surf, we want to highlight Achilles by the sea, and the amazing staff that supported our Veterans, staff and volunteers alike. “I purchased a bottle of 2017 Sangiovese wine. It was excellent. I went back and purchased four additional bottles. Only one bottle purchased was of the caliber of my first purchase.We were wine club members for several years and cancelled our membership when 40% of the bottles purchased did not mirror what we tasted at the venue. Overall, if you want a cool place to hang or love big bold cabs, this is the place for you. Buyer beware.“

“This is a little store way in the mountains of Santa Cruz. It's not going to carry everything. The selection is really limited, but the people who work there, are great! “Had to wait a little. But I was in no rush. I got the mile high bagel sandwich, blueberry muffin, and latte. Everything was delicious. The sandwich looks small, but it was super filling. The bagel tasted like it was freshly made. It was soft and airy and nicely toasted. Very delicious! It's definitely worth the wait. Love to support local cafes. This one is in a quiet part of town by the bus station, and there's a library across the street. Not too much car traffic on a Monday morning.Kid-friendliness: Super kid friendly. “Scrumptious Italian deli with delicious sandwiches made to order in Santa Cruz. Awesome selection of Monin syrups also, in addition to ready made salads, sauces, and pastas. The sandwiches were delicious. I really enjoyed my Castroville Italian sandwich and my husband scarfed down his Eggplant Parmesan sandwich. My kids had the cranberry turkey sandwich. They also had the voodoo chips I rarely see and love.“

“Went to Copal on Easter Sunday 2024. We had a 4:45 pm reservation that was made online two days prior and verified via return phone call on Saturday.My friend had a screen shot of her online verification since it was for a holiday and she intended to stop by in person to verify but since Copal called her back to confirm she didn't worry about it. I used to live in Oaxaca and I was super excited.The wait staff were vivacious, friendly and attentive. My friend had enchiladas, I had the Quesadillas del Mercado. We also got sides of Chapulines and Nopalitos. I really wanted to try the green mole but didn't want another entire entree. They graciously accomodated with a side of green mole and a side of grilled chicken. I also got Aqua de Jamaica. Everything was delicious! I skipped the beans becsuse they were too firm but my friend loved them. The nopalitos were chopped into a salsa with onions. The Quesadillas were fantastic and more than I could finish at one meal, and the grilled chicken was beyond amazing. It brought back memories of the father/daughter butcher team that I used to buy from at the Mercado near Abrahan Castellanos- the meat is cut thin snd pounded very flat over a block of ice so that it is tender and cooks easily. The Chapulunes were big and as good as homemade, yum! I will definitely order chicken with green mole in the future but I will opt for take out.The downsides: The interior seating area has terrible acoustics and glare from outdoors. It might be better after dark.The bathroom seemed to be flooded and in need of repair. The person at the host station seemed to be focused on driving patrons out rather than welcoming them in, which was very puzzling. The host rattled off about five different suggestions as to why we must be mistaken in the three seconds it took for my friend to bring up the screen shot of the confirmation. The reservation was not on their books. So be sure to take a screen shot of your reservation and be prepared to be treated like a door crasher.Bottom line, the food is outstanding and I will definitely order take out from Copal in the future.“

“Coffee is yum! I got the mocha with the works, and tried the light beige (a blended drink) with a good bitterness. Saw a pink glazed donut topped with sprinkles and animal crackers and my kids devoured it. I do wish they had bigger size cups. Everything is one size - small - like the "tall" cup that you would get at Starbucks. Friendly baristas. Indoor and outdoor seating. Bowl for doggies to have water.“

“Solid spot for brunch in Los Gatos! They have both indoor and outdoor patio dining. The outdoor dining area has heat lamps, and they'll open up the awning when it gets too sunny out! I got the Crab Souffle Omelette, and I really enjoyed it! The omelette itself was huge! I was impressed with just how fluffy it was--way better than an ordinary omelette! The Crab Souffle omelette is filled with crab, avocado, tomato, mushrooms, and topped with hollandaise sauce. All of the souffle omelettes come with a bakery item and herb potatoes and grits. I love that you can get a specialty bakery item like their carrot walnut bread or raspberry coffee cake in addition to their selection of breads/English muffin/bagel. You can even add their cinnamon roll, but it will cost you an extra $5. I recommend getting their carrot walnut bread! It's tasty--a little savory and a little sweet--with a great combination of textures. I tried some of the raspberry coffee cake but did not like it as much. I would also recommend getting the herb potatoes instead of the grits. The herb potatoes were quite yummy! We were expecting the grits to be like cheesy grits or shrimp and grits (something with flavor) but these ended up just being plain grits. So unless that's what you're looking for, go with the potatoes! Service is pretty fast and efficient. Parking is street parking or park in one of the nearby public lots. There are a bunch of these in Downtown Los Gatos, so I've never had to walk too far!“

“First time eating here. Overall very impressed by the food. We had the grilled cheese special, the biscuit sandwich, and the strawberry and beet salad. Very good flavors. And pleasantly surprised to find out that they do indeed have mimosas, was not expecting them to have any booze so, I can officially call it brunch!Will definitely be back, and now I’m extra sad that I missed the French versus Italian community night dinner.“

“Came in on a Wednesday morning during Spring break. They were busy and a minor wait as they were busy. Staff was attentive, but not rushing us. The banana walnut French toast was just what I needed. Food came out quick enough for the 5 of us. All were happy and full. The live plants arranged seeing the restaurant were a nice touch. Bathrooms are single occupancy, but the are 2 and they were clean, always a plus for me to know they keep things clean. If the bathroom is clean the kitchen is likely as well. Looks like they're adding more outdoor seating. Would like to come back on a nice Summer morning“

“The best fish tacos I've ever had. Don't know how they do it, but their battered fish is the perfect balance of crispy and salty. The pickled radish slice on top is a treat in and of itself. Their Tinga Taco (chicken) is a thing a beauty as well. I highly recommend a visit. It's a small clean place with a few small tables and stools set at a narrow bar. They don't sell beer or wine, so it is a bit of a bummer not to be able to enjoy one with the tacos. Chips & Salsa are extra, but honestly, two fish tacos hit the spot on their own. The ladies there are super friendly (and they make the best tacos).“

“Went here for my birthday with some friends and was pleasantly surprised! Ordered the guacamole and chips which were so delicious, I couldn't stop eating! Also ordered a frozen strawberry marg and it was so refreshing~ The tacos were to die for though, I didn't feel heavy after eating them so definitely recommend! The service was fantastic and since it was my birthday, our waitress gave us the option between a free dessert or free birthday shot which I thought was so awesome. “Armitage wines offers a truly outstanding experience. It is not just the great history of the estate which was formerly owned by Alfred Hitchcock, but the delicious and high quality wines that you can sample in this amazing setting. The current owners are very welcoming and attentive and especially dedicated to creating a great tasting experience for their guests. We spend a whole afternoon trying the different wines and I have to say it is rarely the case that I am as pleased with the sampling as I was at Armitage. Next to this, the vineyard offers amazing views. Tucked away in the redwood trees you can see for miles while overlooking the grapes from the top of the estate. When the sun sets in the afternoon, it makes for an amazing play of light and shadows. We truly loved visiting this place and will definitely come back. It is well worth a trip. If this does not convince you, please see the attached photos. I am in no way affiliated to this place, but was simply amazed by our afternoon here.“

“We came here after viewing the monarchs at Natural Bridges. My drink of choice is an espresso. I hadn't been here in many moons, so I forgot what the coffee was like. I prefer to have dark roasts, but many roasters are doing medium roasts now. This is definitely a medium roast. I probably won't return because there are coffee places in SC that serve dark roasts. It was a well-made espresso, just don't like the roast.“

“I'm not exactly sure what the restaurant industry would consider a 'destination restaurant' but for me it's someplace I will drive out of my way to get something I love to eat. Tramonti is one of those places, except it's not out of the way for me! The reason I love this place is the Prawns Diaviola. These things are amazing and better still, very consistent. Every time I order them they are fantastic. The ingredients are very simple, it's basically bacon wrapped prawns but they use a spicy Italian salami and Parmesan cheese. The secret is the brick oven! You get a great texture without over cooking the prawns. They serve other Italian favorites and they make a mean pizza too. Local beer on draft and a good wine selection complete the menu. They also make dessert in the brick oven, try the banana w chocolate! It's also a great atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor dining.“

“I took my neighbor's daughter at UCSC here for brunch. We got two Cali Croissants, one with regular bacon and one with turkey bacon, a ginger beer, and a Kombucha. The Cali Croissant is HUGE and will not fit into your mouth, unless perhaps you are a teenage boy. The Croissant was lightly toasted and delicious. My fruit side came with a nice mix of fruit: actual strawberries and blueberries, as opposed to just the standard grapes and melons. I really appreciated that. Service was friendly, but they don't really check on you when they're busy. They just brought us our food and the check. The only drawbacks are that it's crowded inside and the prices are not student-friendly. Not prohibitively expensive, but a little pricier than your typical breakfast and brunch spot. The quality of the food was great, though, so the pricing is somewhat justified.“

Very friendly and welcoming.The choices of sausage were spot on. I normally stay away from the average hot dog. But Left Coast Sausage Worx has some of the highest quality of sausages in Santa Cruz. They post all the details of the sausage on the menu and source multiple options from Corralitos, home to mouth watering sausages.Their buns are sourced from Aldos bakery. A local bakery/restaurant that my family has been going to for years.For thoes not interested in meat they have a veggie sausage! This was my order and it was the most flavorful sausage I had ever tried. Had my boyfriend try it and he was mind blown for how rich it was with italian flavor.You can find some bomb eats here without breaking the bank.Highly recommend and will be returning.“

“This is a fun place to go with friends to try a variety of local kombucha, beer, wine, and coffee. One of my favorites is Living Swell's kombucha Notorious which is a raspberry and lemon flavor that tastes amazing on tap! Amy the owner is very nice and helpful about what to try. She is offering food now too that I look forward to trying asap. Plenty of comfy seating inside and there is an outside bar as well. It's right in the Capitola village and a short walk to the beach so it's location is perfect. This is definitely worth a stop next time you get a chance and it's always awesome to support a local business.“

“It's not hyperbole when I say that Humble Sea makes the best beer I've ever had. The bummer for me is that where I live it's hard to come by. That's why when I'm in Santa Cruz I make sure to stop by and stock up. I've only stayed and had a beer once at the brewery but it was nice and clean plus they have a decent sized patio. To be honest they could be selling the beer out of the back of a van by the train tracks and I'd still go there.“
