“We hadn't been here since pre-covid, so we were wondering how they'd survived and evolved. Pleased to say they were BETTER than before covid! EVERYTHING was top notch, from the cocktails, service, and all of the food! My whiskey sour and my girlfriend's greyhound cocktails (both up) were both awesome, and made with high quality mixers. I had the french onion soup appetizer, and it was rich and delicious! My 16 ounce prime rib was expensive at $72, but PERFECT in every way...in temperature, seasoning, and quality of cut. To be honest, I had a bit of sticker shock when I first saw the $72 price point, but they absolutely nailed it, so I can't really complain. They really delivered! My girlfriend had the fried chicken sandwich, and she's a bit of a fried chicken sandwich connoisseur, but she also said that they made it to perfection, and she was very happy with it. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the SYV!“

“Two different locals who work at fine establishments in Los Alamos recommended this spot for their "pinsas" (not knowing what that was). We went there and sat by the fireplace ordering exactly that! Wine and Pinsa on our evening date was lovely. We were so glad it was recommended!“

“The best Mexican food in the area with great ambiance! I love coming here when we're visiting because the food and service are consistently on point. This evening we had an a wonderful waiter with a beard. I didn't catch his name but we received great service from him at our small table for two by the fireplace. The restaurant does close early (8pm on Fridays) for some of us LA folks who are used to eating dinner much later on; however, I do love an early dinner so the closing time didn't bother us. We had the guacamole and the key lime pie for dessert - both were good. I also appreciated that they took down our phone number so we could step outside the restaurant while we waited. Street parking is very easy on the main road. They are a walk-in only restaurant, so do be prepared for a wait (especially if it's rainy weather).“

“The entire fish fry is a delightful culinary experience, showcasing the natural flavors and textures of the fish in its entirety. The crispy exterior gives way to succulent, flaky flesh, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Whether it's served with a squeeze of lemon or accompanied by zesty sauces, every bite is a testament to the freshness and quality of the seafood. It's a classic dish that never fails to satisfy seafood enthusiasts looking for a delicious and satisfying meal.“
“I've never been anywhere like Cali Love before! Such fun vibes with pink all over (love it) and a unique tasting menu with two bubblies and a few other sparkling wines that aren't on the menu. They stay open until 10pm and have karaoke some nights. You can decorate a guitar pick to add to the wall. The server was very friendly and let us try a couple things that weren't in the menu. And they're dog friendly!“
“This place is such a good time! We came for my bday a few months ago and had a blast. There are a few arcade games, plenty of pool tables, beer pong set ups, shuffle board, live music, etc. Great for groups and dog friendly! All the bartenders are kind and warm. We ordered some food, it's your regular bar food. Highly recommend :)“

“So this place was conveniently located right across the street from our hotel. Lucky for us there was no wait and we're seated right away. I do believe that they take reservations. The restaurant itself is very nice and classy. It had a romantic vibe and perfect for date nights and even proposals. My husband ordered the Rib eye. It came with a side salad .He also had a side of the potatoes. Mostly everything on the menu is a la carte. I had the fried calamari appetizer as my main course. It came with fried veggies and was a nice size. We also ordered the delicious rolls. I also ordered a passion fruit margarita and my hubby ordered lemonade. Everything was great and a special thank you to our server Chelsea.“
“Staff here were awesome and very cool. I enjoyed the ambiance here and will absolutely love to come back when I'm in the area. A huge bonus is they are the only place to carry my favorite beer within a 60 mi radius. Great selection of alcohol here for sure!“

“We had the pulled pork sliders and artichoke spinach dip. Both of those were really good! ? It was kinda dark in there (bar area) but it's a cool place. The bartender/server was nice, and he kept checking in on us to see if we needed anything. We went on a Monday night, so nothing was going on, but we'll be back for sure. Thank you!“

“The good things about Norman's definitely outweighs the bad so I'll start with the good. Fabulous unique drinks. Presentation is top notch. The bar tenders are friendly and knowledgeable and make tasty beverages. The view is gorgeous. Bring a light jacket or sweater as it can get chilly outside in the evenings. The inside decor is tres chic and inviting. Makes us feel like staying awhile. About 90% of the clientele are young and trendy and it's enjoyable to watch the next generation enjoy life. Now for the bad. The star rating was a toss between ok (3) or great (5) so I decided to go in the middle with good (4). Let's start with the parking. Hotel guests stay at the top of the hill for convenience to their rooms understandably. But us being locals, there is no need for an over night stay, so parking for only food/drinks is at the bottom of a hill. It is quite a steep walk, but it's doable, just not in heels, and the "ride up" isn't always available. But I guess I DESERVE THE WALK to justify the margaritas I plan to have once I make it to the top. Now for the food. Sometimes the food is a hit or miss so we usually stick with what we are familiar with so we aren't let down. There are some vegetarian options offered so that is a plus. We know they can make great food as we've had it before so not sure what the issue is with the consistency of quality. I won't go into much detail because we truly like going there and don't want to harm business, but the one thing I will say is, what's up with that "cold pizza?" Flatbread Full of Life's is right down the street. All in all, it a great place to have in town, they just have a few kinks to iron out.“

“My first time having the AJ Spurs experience. My partner had a steak craving, and I thought, this place probably has something random I would enjoy (not into big pieces of beef or pork, ribs, etc.). We were early for dinner, got seated at a nice large booth, way nicer than we needed. Classic country on the sound system, was cranking out Johnny Cash and the like. In my opinion, the good stuff. Decorations were old style western, rustic, lots of taxidermy animals. Husband got his drink, he was happy with the pour. I asked about the fried chicken sandwich and the waitress, well, her expression was pretty skeptical. I asked her what she would recommend and she suggested the 6 ounce filet mignon (also the shrimp). He got the sirloin. The courses then proceeded to arrive: Beef vegetable soup, house made beans and salsa. Then a nice green salad with a delicious avocado dressing for me, ranch for him. The highlight of this meal was the filet mignon. It was absolutely tender and every bite was delicious. He liked the sirloin, but when I gave him a taste of mine, he agreed it was perfect. The plate came with a delicious rice pilaf, a nice thick piece of garlic toast, and a separate pan of thin sliced pan fried potatoes. We hadn't had lunch and were working outside all day and he ate everything but the potatoes. I demolished the steak and bread and had a few bites of the other things. Most of our conversation was about the music... we played Name That Tune (and artist) the whole time. Not our typical genre but we remembered almost everything they played. That was super fun! Hadn't heard some of that stuff in years! Conway Twitty, I haven't forgotten you! He declined the dessert and I had the Amaretto. Really nice finish to the meal and a perfect amount. Brought home the rice and potatoes, should have grabbed the beans as the waitress suggested but I thought I wasn't ever going to be hungry again. (Wrong, I ate the rice last night AND this lunchtime.) I hope that filet is still perfect next time. Ask for medium rare. Go in before it gets too busy. Take home the extras. Don't sweat the small stuff. Lots of places these days charge too much for each tiny, fussy, overly curated course. This place gives you piles of good food for one decent price.“
