“Sportsmans Hall is a great local restaurant. They always serve an abundant amount of food and it's fresh and hot. The people are super nice. The atmosphere is rustic, but it totally fits the Pollock Pines area. Call ahead and order the fried chicken. It's great!“

“John and his staff serve lunch that is locally sourced and organic. There's always a line to order, but well worth the wait. The elk burger is awesome. John and his staff are gracious and skilled. It's like coming home to family every time I walk in.“

“The food here is absolutely amazing!!!!! I had lemon thyme risotto with Scallops, my husband the Salmon. We had calamari for appetizer, and banana foster for dessert. Everything was cooked perfectly. The scallops were so tender and fresh. The ambience was nice, and I thought the drink selection was great. They do have kids menus if you want to bring your kids. It's probably the best food we have had in a while. Service was spot on. I highly recommend going here. It is a gem in the middle of nowhere, lol.“

“Enjoyed a late lunch here on our drive back from Lake Tahoe to the Bay Area. Didn't get to try their Lobster Bisque since they were out (Friday ~2pm), but our daughter loved their clam chowder. The Baked Brie was so delicious - served with warm bread, dried fruit, grilled onions and truffles. It was gone within a few minutes! For our mains, the crab cake sliders were fine, nothing spectacular. But their Salmon Salad was a hit! The salmon was cooked just right, not too dry, with a lightly sweet, refreshing dressing. I wish I could bottle up the dressing and take it home! We'll definitely be coming back when we're in town again.“

“I am the host of a foodie Meetup group. My group dined here on Saturday, May 11th for dinner. Food was truly exceptional, perfectly executed dishes, cooked and seasoned perfectly, not trying too hard, rather was high quality food served simply and it was clear the chef knows what they are doing. Service was equally excellent, and the ambience was great - nice outdoor seating and indoor ambience very pleasant as well. Highly recommend, and don't skip dessert. We got 4 different desserts, and each one was was stunningly good. My favorite was the chocolate cake with orange blossom whipped cream - cake was so light and fluffy, and the orange whipped cream set it off so nicely and delicately. Truly a superb restaurant all around. Will definitely be back!“

“Finally found an all-beef hot dog that I can get in Placerville that is comparable to Bay area hot dog places like Casper's or other hot dog steamed beef hot Dogs. I have been here many years and just never went into streams and now that I have I will be back many many times. I will take a picture “

“The food was really great and the service was friendly. The atmosphere is really beautiful and historic although the seating is pretty uncomfortable. That's my only complaint.Kid-friendliness: The kids' menu is great, but could use more veggies and fruit options.“

“Great little spot to grab some amazing baked treats and a really good breakfast as well. Biscuits and gravy was bomb but believe only on Sundays I think. If on the road and looking for something then stop in and the fun center is right behind it too.“

“This is the place to be when you're hungry. Good food, Large portions too. Good staff. Even the staff in the kitchen will help seat you when the host is not available. That was good PR service skills. My wait was about 2 minutes before I was escorted to a nice table.Recommend the chicken salad and/or the chicken sandwich with fries. Eat half & take the rest home in a box.I'd recommend breakfast/lunch. Dinner is nice, but I wait for those nights when Prime Rib is served. The building Diamond Springs Hotel is a historical building, which I enjoy 1800's/historical buildings.Especially if they're known to be haunted. Not saying that this building is, but I enjoy historical buildings.I was told upstairs is generally used for storage. I have yet to tour the entire building, of course, when they're not too busy.Restrooms are clean.Parking is good. This place is worth a revisit.“

“What a lovely accident. I was passing through and stopped to grab a bite to eat. On a Tuesday, I was able to walk in and be seated right away. Was met by great staff who was very kind and welcoming. The ambiance was set as a charming farmhouse. And the star of the experience was the food. It was fresh and well seasoned. I munched on the Cajun chicken sandwich, with a couple of modifications. (Don't hate me, but I'm a wuss when it comes to spice) highly recommend! I also had the clam chowder and focaccia! Yum yum yum!!! If you're in the area come here for good eats and good people!“

“Everything you would hope for in a small old-school style breakfast place. The food was good, cheaper than any other place or chain of the same target market. I went fat kid and it was about $20. My buddy was healthy and he came in under $10.“

“We stumbled upon this cute shop as we were walking down Main Street Placerville. We wanted something to quench the thirst without sugar! This was the place! I had their Lavender Green Tea iced no sweetener and a mini egg burrito. It's very small so perfect for a snack. Only bummer was there was hardly any egg, mostly potatoes and sausage. Nice mild salsa gave it the flavor it needed. I would recommend but maybe ask for extra egg? Service was quick and friendly! I would definitely come back!“

“Stopped in for lunch the other day, food was good, service was great, and had a nice atmosphere. Loved the garlic fries, the ranch burger was delicious and massive, I'm a big guy and was stuffed after only eating half. Mac and cheese bites were decent, no complaints but also I may have been too full to properly enjoy them!“

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Golden Waffle Cafe in Placerville, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience. I ordered the California omelet, and I can confidently say that it was one of the best omelets I've ever had. The combination of avocado, tomato, and melted cheese was simply divine, and the eggs were cooked to perfection. The potatoes that accompanied the omelet were seasoned just right, providing a delightful contrast in texture and flavor. The atmosphere of the cafe was cozy and inviting, with a friendly staff that made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. The service was prompt, and the waitstaff was attentive without being intrusive. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail, such as the fresh flowers on the tables and the personalized greetings from the owners.Overall, I would highly recommend The Golden Waffle Cafe to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying meal in Placerville. The food is top-notch, the service is excellent, and the ambiance is warm and welcoming. I give The Golden Waffle Cafe a well-deserved 5-star rating, and I can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious offerings.“

“Very good place to grab breakfast or lunch or dinner. The staff is very nice and accommodating. Excellent place for kids, really for anyone who enjoys diner type food.Parking: About 25 spots, some are a bit tight if you have an SUV or pickup. We've always found parking around peak times for lunch.Kid-friendliness: Place always has lots of kids and families eating. They have a kid's menu and they bring food for kids in a cool 50s style car (made out of cardboard).“

“Cute pub atmosphere - food is carefully prepared with attention to detail. My lamb burger came out a little too red for my liking (I don't think I communicated very well that I wanted it rather well done not at all pink) and rather than just cook it more they brought me a whole new order. It was delicious! Fries are super crispy, well seasoned and everything is very fresh. We had a wonderful lunch! Wait staff very attentive but did not hover. Excellent all over experience.“

“We had dinner here tonight. It was delicious! Salad was crisp, variety of veggies and topped with blue cheese crumbles. The meatloaf and Jaegerschnitzel were really good. Love that they offer smaller plates for seniors/smaller appetites, etc. The remodel came out really nice-cozy! We've been coming here for years...many of the dishes come from St. Pauli Inn...remember it up highway 50 before they moved to Camino? ?“
