The centennial burger was massive and cooked medium the way I like it. The garlic fries, and salt and pepper fries were on point. The dark horse stout awesome!. Okay in done. “Every time I come here I'm treated like family. Very friendly people here, and the service is always good. I have never had any reason to complain. The employees are all really great people, I do actually consider all of them a legitimate friend. I highly recommend the Baja wrap with the "secret sauce" too. But be ye warned, it's a massive serving so you might take half home with ya or share it with a friend. You definitely get your money's worth in food, that's for sure. Also the quesadillas and the grilled cheese are also great go-to snacks to accompany a beer at the bar. This place is basically my daily watering hole. If I haven't been there in over a week it's because I'm not in town. I don't like loud crowded bars with loud music and all that, so this place is perfect! U can actually enjoy being there and hear the person you're talking to. PS: idk who this other "Seamus M" fellow is who left a negative review but that's definitely NOT me. I don't even golf haha.“

Our drinks came out shortly and were so colorful and refreshing! He got the Serrano cucumber margarita and I got the oaky hibiscus sour. The queso fundido was nice and cheesy! The tuna tartare was beautiful as well as light and citrusy. The mole plate was a little burnt though. For dessert, we ordered flan and it had a nice and thick texture. They forgot to bring our esquites, but brought it out after we got dessert LOL.It was a great appetizer! They asked for my opinions, so I am glad that they want to take our feedback into consideration. Would love to come back and try their other menu items!“

“Our party of 4 went on a Thursday night and we were seated right away. There were seats at the bar and 2-4 person high and low tables. Because it’s in Hillcrest, we had a rough time looking for street parking- ended up finding a spot a couple blocks down.We ordered from the Specialty Tacos list: Steak and Bones, Bad to the Bone, and El Presidente. The tacos were surprisingly large!*Steak and Bones: full sized grilled rib eye tender steak slabbed on a corn tortilla— definitely can’t eat it like a normal taco*Bad to the Bone: fall-off-the-bone beef rib on a corn tortilla*El Presidente: 3 large pieces of garlic shrimp on a corn tortilla— so good!We also ordered the *Steak and Bone Fries and the *Steak and Bone Nachos. These 2 were just okay for us. The nachos were crunchy but these were smaller portions served on big plates which made it look underwhelming. Our server was attentive and service was pretty quick, considering how large the meats were.I’d come back for their Specialty tacos!Parking: Paid street parking only (free after a certain time). Difficult to find a spot especially during night time.“

“Hidden gem in the mid city/city heights. My friend introduced me to this place. Once you walk in, you feel like you're in a different area; compared to the outside of this place LOL. I want to keep this place all to myself but I have to share. It's a small establishment with a bar, dining area and a rooftop lounge. I love that it is family friendly. Very nice, friendly and helpful crew Jasmine, Jennifer and Chris. We sat down and ordered a few drinks. My friend ordered some beer/IPA and I ordered Spicy Margarita (Serrano infused real del valle, triple sec, house made margarita mix, black charcoal salted rum). It was soooo delicious! I had to go for seconds , it is a spicy drink. I usually don't order spicy drink but this drink blew my mind; it was quite tasty. We also ordered some burgers. I ordered the black & blue burger: it was blackened seasoned beef patty, topped with blue cheese crumbles & buffalo sauce. On the side it had lettuce, tomatoes, onion and pickles. My friend ordered the burger of the month which was the "Pastramarami" which had beef patty, provolone cheese, sauerkraut and brown mustard. Both were cooked medium and burger meals came with a side of fries. We both liked our burgers. It was very fresh, the ingredients and fries were cooked perfectly. Burgers had lots of flavors. The Pattie's are from the Perennial Pastures ranch in North county and grass fed. The fries are insane, crispy, flavorful and compliments the burgers. Street parking is only available and very limited. I will definitely be back.“

I'm not an ipa girl, I dislike hoppy beer, but the subtle coconut flavor made the beer delightful. But hands down favorite, so good I said "f*** that's delicious" after my first sip was the Ziggy Stardust sour. Black Plague Brewery • $$
2899 University Ave, San Diego - 7.96 miles

“Dying for a beer? Black Plague is a great spot for a beer and a bite with a spooky theme. This North Park location is a taproom for Black Plague, a brewery with their main location in Oceanside. It's a bit cozy, but it has distinctive Plague Doctor theme, and other spooky stuff to help it stand out from your "normal" brewery. We tried a pretty large portion of the beer menu, and everything was good. None of the beer truly stood out as different or special, but not every brewery needs to experiment with new things. We got some food that was easy to share with the group, cheese curds (Curds of Doom) and poutine (Molten Mayhem). It's appropriate bar food for the location. PROPS: Unique theme that extends from how the location is decorated, to the names of every item. This is a great place for pictures. SLOPS: While everything we ate and drank was good, nothing stood out as great. It feels like they're playing it safe with the menu.“

“Decided to drop by after dinner down the road and so glad we did! Arturo was behind the bar and was so welcoming, charming and kind. The inside was quaint and gave off a homey vibe. My bf and I both had wine and appreciated the ambiance of the place. I can def see myself coming here to work, have a date night (like tonight) or even as a girls night. It was mentioned that Tuesdays are trivia nights ! I 'll definitely be back!“

“One of the few places in Old Town for our family's late flight into the area. Our party of 7 sat outside, under a heater. We enjoyed drinks, a delicious meal, and conversation without feeling rushed. Our waitress was just the best!! She knew the menu well and recommended drinks and meals. Thanks for a great start to our family's visit!!!“

“Ordered the short rib burrito and thought it was really good. Yes, $20 is a lot for a burrito, but this was the first time I've actually been satisfied with my ballpark food. The quantity and quality was all there; definitely a hefty burrito.“

“Cool and relaxed San Diego bar close to Balboa park. Free parking in a garage right around the corner! The Ahi nachos were recommended but they were too hard to eat on narrow pasta chips! Drinks were tasty and beer selection was good. Definately will go again and try different appetizers!“

“Hidden gem in Kensington! One of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been in San Diego. Loved the pizza toscana, feel like every bite I had was better than the last. The best alla vodka with bacon I’ve had in over ten years, couldn’t stop eating it. We sat on the dog friendly patio which has heaters. The service was excellent and food comes out quick. Must go!“

“There are three other locations. They have Trivia Tuesday and Wing Wednesday. We just missed their happy hour from 3-5pm M-T so we just got tasters and hung out.Loved that they offer variety of food like Korean fried chicken sandwich, Bavarian pretzel, and plant based impossible burger. The beers on tap have 3 sizes.I got 5 ounce Carlsbad crush which was too hoppy for me but if you pair it with food, it took the hoppiness down and a notch. Then I had the 5 ounce Invita - Mexican lager which was light and yummy. Tasted even better with food pairing. The location is at a corner. Literally a short block from the Sante Fe Depot trolley stop. All tables were bar height except for two tables in the corner.Friendly staff and great ambiance.Dogs are allowed in the patio. However, inside dogs are reserved for service animals.“
