“One of the better pizza places in SF. We ordered the spicy grandma pizza (4/5) and the cheese garlic bread (3/5). Just FYI - the garlic bread has full garlic cloves ?.Parking is a bit difficult to find depending on when you go. Also, I don't think they have a reservation system. You just need to add yourself to the wait-list online probably 30 mins before you plan to go there. Really recommend you get added to the wait-list else the wait times can be really long.Although the pizza was a bit expensive, it was tasty and I definitely plan to come back to taste the other items on the menu.Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options to choose from.“
“It's in the name, and frankly it's in the oven too, but it's hard to find anything that's not excellent here. Amazing pizzas with perfect, delicate crusts that are perfect blend of traditional and new school. Acapulco is my favorite, they're all a good choice. Great cocktails and wine program, and an amazing staff who will make you want to come back (almost) as much as the food. Ask about dessert!“
“The absolute best bagels (I’m partial to their Everything), and their cream cheese selection is also stellar. Better than anything I ever had during my years living in NYC! I like how you can toast and eat them at home since it’s all take-away. For dinner, the Detroit-style pizza is tasty and the place has a chill vibe with great music playing usually.“
“One of the most affordable yet delicious pizza in town. Other than simple pizza like pepperoni or combo, they have clam and garlic, which is quite unique. It is a square style pizza so it is a quick thick and filling. Well, if you are hungry, please get two! The staff is quick and attentive as well.“
“One of the best pizzas in San Francisco. Very small place with a parklet out front. About 5 individual sized pizzas on offer, with a daily salad special, and two daily desserts. Very casual and unpretentious but the food is glorious. Has thrived for about 25 years.Parking: Challenging. Allow time. Or take Lyft, Uber, or the bus if you can.Wheelchair accessibility: Outside seating is accessible, inside would be a tight squeeze.“
“Pinsa Rossa is absolutely amazing! Their appetizers, salads, and, of course, the pinsas with their crunchy, flavorful crusts are all top-notch. Ken and his team have done an incredible job creating a dining experience that’s simply outstanding!Dietary restrictions: My daughter, a brand new lactating mom who can’t consume lactose products, asked for a pinsa with vegan cheese, and we couldn’t tell the difference, it was great!Parking: There’s parking available half a block away from the place.“
“A place on 24th St., the salvation to have a coffee, eat a good sandwich, have a beer and if you like everything Italian you will find it here! The guys are very friendly and the owner can't even speak of, I really liked it, I recommend it!“
“I visited last week for dinner with my family. We didn't make a reservation and arrived around 6pm. We got seating in the back, which was an outdoor area. Right away they told us there were reservations so we would only be able to eat till around 7:15ish, which was totally okay. The back area was very cute, and extremely warm with the heater. For the food, we got 2 pizzas - honey pepperoni and the one with mushrooms. They were both good, but the crust was the best part. And the honey pepperoni said spicy on the menu but wasn't spicy at all.For appetizers, we got garlic bread and burrata cheese salad. The bread was on the drier side, couldn't taste much garlic. But the salad was very good.Overall, nice experience!“
“This is a perfect place to have dinner with friends. The atmosphere is cool, with jazz music in the background. I loved the Brussel sprouts and also the cooked carrots with hummus. They don’t sound very special but they were yummy! The pizzas are interesting and also good. A bit greasy and with a lot of cheese but I definitely liked them. I tried a dark beer with some holiday spices that was great! The waiter was also super nice. So overall a great experience and I think prices were fair given the good quality.Vegetarian options: Brussel sprouts, carrots, and some pizzas too!“
“Hands down the best pizza place I've had in SF. The service here is amazing and the pizza reminds me of NY, pretty comparable to slice of NY in South Bay too. One of the workers, who I think is the owner is super friendly and generous. Even though it's in the TL it's kind of on the outskirts near Bill Graham and Civic Center so it's not super sketchy coming here. Slices are thin crust and come out super crispy when they serve them.“
“There are very few restaurants that serve amazing vegetarian prix fixe menus (every single item on the menu was a 10/10), and also leave you feeling full / content at the end of your meal. Flour + water does that! Highly recommend for a special occasion splurge!“
“Fantastic gluten free crust, the vegan cheese was pretty good, perfect amount of sauce. I was hoping for a little more volume of the toppings (I got sausage & green olives), but I know food costs are way up. Overall a really great GF pizza experience.“
“Hands down, literally the best dinner I've ever had! From the wine, to Bruschetta appetizer, to meat canneloni and the best tirimissu I've ever had. I'm remember this dinner for a long time! The service was unbeatable as well.. hidden gem!“
“Went here for dinner with my neice, and it was amazing. The staff was very friendly. We were a little cold and the staff brought us blankets. A must try was the meatballs, yummy. The salad was delicious, as was the pasta. Generous servings, and the food was nice and hot.“
“Great food and service. We like the restaurant and will return. Only two issues. We were seated near the door which is always open and were so cold we needed to wear our jackets the whole time. The restaurant is very noisy inside, so all conversations are very loud and it's tough to hear. Arancinni and wings were excellent, pasta top notch.“
“My husband and I really liked it here, came accross it post discovering the bay. We'd walked miles, and fancied some pizza! We chose well. It's a really lovely place, plenty of seating snd they accommodate us walking in on a busy night. The aesthetic is special. All the staff were really great. We had a mix of pizza, with some extra toppings, mozarella sticks and olives. If there's one thing you need, it's the insanely cheesy mozarella sticks! Don't eat here without them.Pizza was really good, crispy and flavoursome. The price is fine considering location, and portion sizes. Would recommend going here!“
“We had a wonderful birthday dinner eating at one of the quieter tables and spacious booths. The pizza was delicious. Because the kitchen was slower than usual, they brought us complimentary olives and a dessert. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. A nice evening for special occasion.“
“Opened my pizza boxes and was stunned at some of the most beautifully made pizza's i have ever seen my entire life. i would consider them a works of art - the fullness of all the ingredients, the way they were intentionally laid out, combined with all the color....and we could have a possible michelin star pizza. we ordered the butter chicken pizza and the combo pizza. the butter chicken was slight spicy but not too powerful. the dough had a crisp edge and bottom with an airy interior. so good. the combo had a fantastic amount of meat and veggies... and the crust was the just as amazing. run by a nice family who took our order over the phone. had it ready to go when we arrived. great service. thank you mr singh's for beautiful and very tasty pizza's~“
“the pizza was to die for, absolutely loved the sauce on the margarita! highly recommend the cauliflower as well. Only negative was that we went on a very crowded friday evening (with reservations) and the service wasn't the best, and it was extremely loud inside the restaurant“
“A San Francisco gem. Unique take on square pan pizza; sauce & cheese were excellent, crust was ok, a bit too burned (we’ll try ordering light next time). Mushroom appetizer was delicious but the star of this place is the pizza. Great drinks; semifredo dessert is A++“
“i came here on a friday evening with a friend around 5:45 pm. there was no line so we were seated immediately. when we left an hour later, there was a line. we came during restaurant week and they were doing a $45/person dinner menu, but i opted to just order from the regular menu since i wasn't a big fan of the appetizer options and really wanted to try the bucatini, which wasn't on the restaurant week menu. when our food arrived, the portions seemed slightly on the smaller side so in retrospect i felt like it would've been nice to get an appetizer to share, but none of the appetizer options were that appealing to me. i like burrata but it came with mushrooms and i don't like mushrooms (this is just a personal preference, though). even though the portions were small, i wasn't hungry but i also wasn't full, which left plenty of room for dessert. we ordered the nutella sundae - it felt a bit much for 2 people (3 is probably a better number), and there was a LOT of syrup. as for the ambiance, the biggest impression i got was that the music was pretty loud. this made the atmosphere not conducive to intimate conversations, so i would mostly go here if i wanted a fast dinner at an early time. otherwise, i feel that the atmosphere is not worth the wait.“
“It was a delight to be invited here for dinner. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the service was fantastic and food was unique and high quality.I was thrilled to learn that the flour comes from Italy so my gluten intolerances can be managed with imported flour - what a treat! The liver mousse was an interesting and unique starter and the linguine limone with crab was a solid dish.“
“First time eating a deep dish chicago-style pizza as it's my first time in the US, and this was something else. Very nice, definitely different than a good old Napoletana I am used to :) the thin crust pizza was also very nice! For the two of us (one adult man and one woman), we've ordered a 10" thin crust pizza and an 8" deep dish pie (old Chicago style), and it was more than enough for us. The full-sized deep dish pie looked huge so I'm glad we didn't order it! It seemed like it would fill 4 adult men.“
“After 20 years later my husband and I back to enjoy the pizza, a bottle of wine , espresso coffee and they delicious Tiramisu OMG this restaurant sill with the best food and the best service, a Italian gentleman and a Yucatán gentleman make us totally happy with our meal.????“
“Wow, this place does not disappoint - so good! I've been a few times and tried many different pizzas. I appreciate that they offer different kinds of pizzas, so there's something for everyone. For me, the most memorable one was the Chopped Cheese Detroit - a Detroit-style pizza that really tastes like a McDonald's cheeseburger - I don't know how they managed that! It's such a unique flavor and something you probably won't find anywhere else. The Fried Cheese Curds are also a must - perfectly crispy and melty cheese! The space is casual and easygoing. The service has always been attentive and friendly. I'd definitely recommend this place for anyone who loves pizza, especially unique-tasting pies.“
“This was a life-changing dining experience - and so wonderful that our group went two nights in a row! The menu was authentic, extensive, fairly priced, and everything we ordered was phenomenal. The service was the best I've ever had. (Pro tip: ask for Charles!) The setting was intimate and cozy - exactly what we were looking for after a long day in the city.Don't pass on Fino. It will be one of the best meals of your life!“
“I savored every bite of my meal, transported back home with each flavorful morsel. This small family-owned gem is a labor of love, with every family member pouring their heart and soul into crafting dishes that truly warm the soul. The service was as genuine and friendly as can be, making me feel like a cherished guest in their home. It's clear that every dish is prepared with love, and that love shines through in every delicious bite. Highly recommend this place to everyone!!!“
“This was a fabulous Italian restaurant in the marina! Unfortunately, you can't make a reservation before hand so you need to queue on the yelp waitlist. However, if you're flexible the wait time is not too bad. We were a party of 3 looking for seating on a Saturday around 8 and waited about 30 mins. Besides this, the restaurant is adorable with beautiful dish wear and cute decor. We got some white wine for the table which was delicious and the waiter was great with recommendations. I ordered the bolognese which was so flavorful and the pasta was perfectly cooked. However, I do wish there was an option for more cheese on the pasta. We finished our meal with complimentary lemon gelatos which were very refreshing. Highly recommend Casado Osteria for your next date night or dinner with friends!“
“I liked Za a lot - they have a new york style pie (so, thin) and a cornmeal crust. You have to like that sort of thing, and know how to eat it - newbs let it cut their mouth and cry about it. Don't do that, don't be a newb. The owner was named Buzz, I went their for a lunch slice. Very friendly and toppings came through / weren't overwhelmed by the sauce. Nice neighborhood spot.“
“Hayes Pizza in San Francisco is nothing short of a pizza lover's dream come true. Situated conveniently close to the University of San Francisco, it has become my number one go-to spot whenever I crave that perfect slice. The pizza here is consistently top-notch, each bite bursting with flavor and crafted with care. But what sets Hayes Pizza apart isn't just their delectable pies, it's their service. The staff here are the epitome of friendly and hardworking. Every visit feels like I'm being welcomed by a group of old friends, which adds a layer of warmth to the entire experience. While the ambiance might be likened to a typical pizza joint, its charm lies in its simplicity. The space, although on the smaller side, is always spotless and radiates a cozy vibe that makes you want to linger just a bit longer. In summary, if you're in San Francisco and in search of a memorable pizza experience coupled with stellar service, look no further than Hayes Pizza. Can't wait for my next visit!“
“The funghi pizza which I took away to eat in front of the painted ladies could have been one of the best pizza I have ever had. A lot of mushrooms and other delicious ingredients. The crust was also not too big and was really good. The service is not very friendly though and the prices are relatively expensive. I would still strongly recommend.“
“Eating at Luisa's restaurant is like walking into a family kitchen and sitting down for an authentic home-cooked meal! We were just visiting the area after returning from a cruise and decided to try it. We enjoyed wine and appetizers of bruschetta, meatballs, Caesar salad, and beef carpaccio. Our main courses were Pappardelle with vodka sauce and Clams linguine with red sauce. We topped the evening off with a cannoli and limoncello and mascarpone cake with creamy lattes. Luisa was there watching that we got the best possible service. You owe to yourself to try this place at least once, but you'll probably return again and again.“
“Found this place to eat by our hotel at the airport in San Francisco last night. Highly recommend everyone to go there if you want a great spot for dinner. Our server Katrina was amazing. She was so attentive and knowledgeable. The food was a combination of all different types of food around Italy. She told us the menu is always changing depending on seasonal ingredients. The wine is all Italian as well and the chef is from northern Italy we were told. The atmosphere was amazing. Great vibe in there and it was packed on a Wednesday night. We loved everything we tried especially the bone marrow, beet salad, tagliatelle, pizza and especially the sheep ricotta doughnuts. I would definitely go back. Probably the best service I have had in Bay Area as well.“
“Located in the safe, clean and lively Castro area, this was an amazing finish to our day. If you're craving fresh, quality ?, American Italian food, big portions and a dinning room with a ton of character The Sausage Factory is a sure bet for a great dinner. In a world of restaurants serving swill and disappointment, The Sausage Factory is easy on your budget and will leave you satisfied for sure.“
“Excellent food, staff and service. They have a strong wine list, very interesting salads and pizza options. The decor is interesting and old school like from a 60s or 70s movie. The pizzas are named after neighborhoods in Rome. The street it is on is a bit sketchy but once inside it is really cool.Vegetarian options: Salads and many pizzas“
“Angie’s is amazing — probably the best thin crust pizza in the city! Wood fired with organic dough is the way. My girlfriend and I have tried almost all the pies on the menu and every one is great. The date + margarita with pesto drizzle are so good. Simple yet delicious apps including mixed greens salad and meatballs are also delicious.“
“The restaurant is quite a tight space, and they probably serve around 500 pizzas during weekend dinner rush. Though it was packed, the staff is quick. DELICIOUS truffle pasta, decadent pistachio ricotta pizza. Absolutely in love. We didn't talk at all while we ate, just devoured. Order a wine to shorten the wait and dilute the noises.“
“Love this bakery so much, you can never go wrong with their baked goods, don’t sleep on their pizza especially the pepperoni it’s so good! Along with the great food they serve they have an even better service, they’re very welcoming and kind.“
“Fiorella is our go-to for the best pizza in town. They have several locations, this one on Clement has a nice backyard for outdoor dining (heated). It’s on the pricier end of the spectrum, but well worth it.Kid-friendliness: This place is kid, friendly, including a kids menu, and there are often families dining with kids“
“Napizza is one of my favorite “go-to” restaurants in SF.Their quality of food is 10/10.Their service and attentiveness is 10/10.Their wine list is a 10/10 (primarily Italian reds).I have brought many friends from out of town and guests here to eat, as its ambiance is one of coziness, its intimate (in terms of its size), and fun (they tend to play music towards the evening depending on the crowd / customer vibe).Do go check it out, and don’t hold back on trying different things on their menu!P.s. I love their Caesar salad + anchovies“
“This is the one! Little Star on Valencia was the polar opposite to this location. Staff is nice, attentive, quick, and professional. The restaurant had a good amount of customers yet our server always came back to check in on us. My favorite is the deep dish. This one came out delicious and had lots of roasted garlic chunks! I will be coming back when I get a craving. I'm not a crust person but I love eating theirs.“
“It’s a nice place to try authentic Italian cuisine. I tried the prosciutto pizza. I felt the overall taste was good but the prosciutto was not to the Italian standards. The service was excellent and staffs were efficient. I would go back again to try other dishes.Parking: The location is filled with many restaurants and is quite busy. It gets difficult to find parking.“
“Thinner crust than typical NY style but the dough is absolutely perfect, with just the right amount of airiness, chew, and char. (Not crackery in the least bit.) Slices are easy to hold in one hand. Flavors are absolutely spot on no matter which combo you get. I leave delighted and impressed every time I come here. Best pizza in the city as far as I'm concerned, and I've tried a lot!“
“Came here with my family for the first time trip try this place out. Called ahead and they don't take reservations. There is a public parking lot just a couple hundred feet to the left of the restaurant. Parking is only free on Sundays. We went on a Sunday night for dinner and the place was almost full. I tried their mushroom soup which was thick and had a strong mushroom flavor that was really flavorful, creamy and not salty. Their cup is really a bowl. Very generous serving. I ordered their mushroom ravioli with truffle sauce. The ravioli was all dente and the mushroom truffle sauce was very good. We also ordered their bruschetta which had several different variations. Probably the best bruschetta that I have tried. With so many people in the restaurant, it was quite loud. And having a conversation with your party you will need to raise you voice to be heard. Most entrees were in the $20-$27 range. This is definitely a family friendly place. It would be difficult to conduct a business meeting here during dinner. The place is clean and has a simple decor. Overall I would recommend you try this place.“
“I have been grabbing pizza from here from time to time and they never failed to make a great 4-cheese white sauce pizza. Reminds me of what my mom picked up back in North Carolina when I was a kid. Ordered on the phone today and the guy accidentally heard “Portuguese” instead of 4 Cheese. They had both on the menu, I had no idea so I felt bad! Thankfully he did not charge for another pizza and actually upgraded me to a bigger size. He let me try the Portuguese slice too. Great place, food, and service!!“
“This is my favorite San Francisco pizza. The crust is so uniquely SF, think inspired by Napoli dough but with a streak of SF sourdough culture. The crust is well hydrated, chewy, and charred. The toppings are inspired by classics and enhanced by fresh local ingredients. I more than willingly pay the $2 for a side of their homemade ranch that is freshly zested with lemon and dill— a beautiful contrast the cheese and richness of the pizza. All around, my favorite pizza place in town.My only thing is that I can’t bring my dog, as there’s no outside space, so I get it and it’s not a point off of my assessment. Otherwise, family friendly and chill industrial vibe. I’m into it.“
“On the outside Slice House looks like a small hole-in-the-wall but the interior design is one of the best I've ever seen. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and calm. The employees treats customers and regulars like family. The food was fantastic! They dont just have pizza, but they have burgers, salads, desserts and quite a few options for sides also if u get a fountain drink you have access to unlimited refills. I went there once and now lets say im a regular.“
“I really enjoyed Back to Back. The food was great, and the service better. Our server was engaging and fun. The only note is that it was pretty crammed in the little restaurant. I commend the servers for being able to maneuver around the close-set tables.“
“I been here in years past, but the upgraded remodel, makes the place a fun place to hang. Pizza was pipping hot, tasted great, fresh ingredients, pizza wasn't too oily and didn't cause any sensitive stomach issues (unlike other pizza spots), and super friendly staff. Do check out this place as you do your holiday shopping! *Turns out this is my childhood friend's store, and the pizza has always been well crafted and used fresh quality ingredients!“
