“This spot is a vibe, date night here, group party, bachelor party vibes. Our group had an incredible time. Food was superb and brought a level of quality I would expect from a place with such a beautiful constructed restaurant. The level of detail in all design for this place was impeccable. I found the staircase leading to the upstairs lounge very intriguing. We sat downstairs for dinner in a long table with these cool leather seats covered with a fur blanket. Our service was great. They even have table side Cesar salad. This establishment made our group feel welcomed and appreciated. Highly recommend.“
“While doing laundry at one of the laundromats in PB the night before last, I happened upon this darling little restaurant/bar. My intention was to use the restroom, but to also get a drink so I didn't look like some vagrant. But, boy--am I glad I did!My delightful server, Caitlyn, turned me on to a cocktail called Fall Right on Thyme after I had explained I just had a vodka mule and didn't want to mix alcohol too early. The drink was great! So great that I had two. I also ordered a charceuterie (sp?) board that was absolutely phenomenal. The vibe and ambience in the restaurant was low-key, but warm. On the Wednesday night that I went--it was terrific because there weren't a bunch of rowdy twenty-somethings harshing my mellow. I will definitely go back here!“
“Best steakhouse in San Diego and one of my favorites in the country- and that's comparing to Chicago and NYC. This restaurant is unique. From the ambiance to the service to the high quality food, it's a special place to go to. I've been here multiple times now and each time is fantastic. It's an old-school steakhouse, where service is top notch, attentive, well-timed, helpful with knowledgeable staff- it's just service you don't see much in San Diego. And the staff seem to enjoy working there. Everything is executed well with outstanding flavor and quality- I think they should be considered for a Michelin star! You get good value for the price and the amuse-bouche along with the palate cleanser before the entree is such a great touch! We had the wedge salad, bread, waygu steak and ribeye. Mushrooms as a side and the bread pudding for dessert. Let's just start with the bacon on the wedge salad- I didn't want it to end. The blue cheese was mild and I'm ok with that. Steaks are cooked perfectly. We wanted to share so they gave us our own plates with the sides on them, then put the steaks between us so we could easily cut and share (they will split it for you too, we just wanted to cut our own). Both were great but this 'ribeye regular' thinks the waygu strip steak is the star. I think it's my favorite steak on the menu! Tender and full of flavor. The mushrooms are excellent as were the house made sauces. Their steak sauce is the best and the peppercorn is fantastic. Their creamy horseradish was too mild for me- I wanted a little more bite and flavor so if you want horseradish flavor, get it raw. Dessert was just ok. We had the chocolate chip bread pudding with butterscotch sauce and chocolate ice cream. I prefer bread pudding to be sliced from a loaf- it's more moist that way. Here it is individually prepared and they warm it up before serving. But it comes out a little charred and even with the sauce it's too dry for me. The butterscotch sauce was excellent as was the ice cream. It just fell a little short for me but still giving a 5, because here, it's about the proteins. The ambiance is vintage western, down to the music and posters- it's really pretty cool. Don't forget to check out the moving bar- the alcohol moves up and down when they need it- very industrial and cool. They book up a few weeks in advance but if you come right when they open you can get the full menu at the bar. They have a great bar menu too. There is also bar seating by the kitchen but that requires a reservation- that's next for me as I love watching the chefs prepare food. It's pricey but you get great value and service for it. It's close to Petco park or the Rady shell- not the best neighborhood but it's a hidden gem. A favorite San Diego restaurant for me.“
“Omgosh, I could not forget to rate our experience here. It was an excellent experience in fine dinning. The staff was most attentive and treated us as if we were preferred guest from the time we arrived until our departure. The maitre d' felt more like concierge at a luxurious hotel, extremely observant and stepping in without a mere request. The food was the highlight to the evening as it was exquisite or as my daughter calls it "moan" worthy. I had the lamb and it was by far the best lamb ever. The side dishes, crusted brussel sprouts and buttered mash potatoes, and the salad did not disappoint either. Should I visit the San Diego area again, this is definitely a place I plan to dine at again.“
“This isn't a five star review, but don't get me wrong - we had a great time. The food and service were excellent and we'll likely come back in the future. We ordered the Prix Fixe menu with an upgraded steak, creamed spinach, lobster tail and lobster bisque. The other order was a tomahawk steak, calamari and au gratin potatoes. The dessert was crème brûlée - which had birthday wishes and name written on it in chocolate sauce - and cheesecake. The food was perfect. I didn't care for the lobster bisque and didn't get a chance to bring it up, but there was nothing wrong with it. Ty was our waiter and provided excellent service and helped us pace our dinner to coincide with sunset. Pamela provided an excellent wine recommendation to my girlfriend who isn't normally much of a wine drinker. She seemed very knowledgeable and my girlfriend loved it.I have a few (minor) complaints, hence the 4 star rating. I had requested a custom menu for my girlfriend's birthday which unfortunately got overlooked. I had to quietly inform my waiter and they brought it out immediately, but I was hoping to surprise her with it when she opened the menu. We were left waiting for a bit before the dessert order (longer than I've ever waited at a restaurant before), but I've worked in food service and things happen so it's not a big deal. It's also possible there was a miscommunication regarding the pacing request. I had to flag down water two or three times - again a first for me at a restaurant. I've never had an empty glass of water before. Usually, most restaurants give you water even when you don't want it. ? Also, the sunset was covered by clouds - but that's obviously not Ruth's Chris' fault. My two biggest complaints are that the Prix Fixe menu is about $15 more expensive than what is stated on the website before any upgrades. The website says $60 and the actual menu was $71, if I'm recalling correctly. I'm not sure on the exact number, but it was at least $10-$15 higher. I knew I would spending a bit at Ruth's Chris so it wasn't a shock, but given the Ruth's Chris reputation - I would expect their website to be accurate. (Also, if someone was saving up or budgeting for a special night out, seeing the price difference might be discouraging.) Lastly, the dress code was not enforced. There were a number of people wearing hats and Padres jerseys which again, I understand - they don't want to turn away customers, they don't want to have a customer start an argument or create a scene and San Diego is known for being laid back - but one of the few things that the dress code mentions on the website is no hats. I'm not the type of person to go Tony Soprano, but that scene briefly crossed my mind. I felt like I had dressed up for no reason. The GM gave us a free bottle of wine and upgraded my mini cheesecake to a full size - either because of the mix-ups during our experience or just because it was my girlfriend's birthday. Either way, very professional and excellent service. All in all, great place and we'll likely be back.Edit: My girlfriend would like me to add: "'Jeff would have moved the clouds for my girlfriend if he could have, but he bought us a bottle of wine to help us celebrate. ADD THAT. I just loved it and hate that you refuse to give five stars. So they have to know how one sided that is and how much I loved it lol. TEN STARS."Parking: There is a valet for $20 or you can meter parking or Ace Paid Parking Lot across the street. I've heard you can also park at the hotel - but I don't have first hand experience with that.“
“Rare Society is one of the best restaurants for our Christmas Eve dinner. The rib eye was so tender, even when asked for well done. Mine was a bit too charred on the outside, however. The rolls were delicious, hot, and melted in your mouth. The ceasar salad was the best I had with so much cheese! The service was wonderful and attentive. Worth a visit for that special occasion.“
“Excellent food. Atmosphere was fun and a bit positive quirky blast from the past ol' time steakhouses. Enjoyed the experience and the people. Will put the Red Fox on our to do list for dinner each time for our trips now that we have regular meetings to San Diego.“
“I have hosted corporate events here a few times over the last few years and it has always been a great experience. Its close to the convention center for the convenience of our crowd and we always get comments about the delicious food and drinks. Working with Arian is so easy and the staff we had working our event in 2023 was amazing as always (Julian, Bobby, Natalie, Kyle, Ashleigh)“
“Walking in, was greeted pleasantly with the most amazing decor, perfect for a fancy steakhouse. The bar was glistening with gold flakes and looked like it was 100 ft long! Drinks were original and delicious but it wasn’t until I had the steak… never had a steak melt in my mouth as I ate it. The owner was walking around, greeting all the guests. In all, 5 stars all around! Thank you guys for the experience!“
“Brink your grub on. This place rocks, it's filled with plenty of patrons who adore the feeling of community togetherness. Drinks are spot on, being that it's lent, I ordered the salmon kabob, tasty. My friends had the ribeyes, which they have the privilege of never cooking one over an open fire. Lesson learned and new friends made along the way. Outstanding garlic bread to add to the grill and toast to your perfection. No one to blame for I'll prepared meal here. Can't blame society. Cheers“
“My wife and I found this place a few years back and we never looked back! We loved everything about this steakhouse! The service is spot on and the steak was beyond my expectations. I highly recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family visiting San Diego!! My wife and I just celebrated our Anniversary here and our hostess went out of her way to make our visit here special!“
“Had a wonderful evening. Needed a late dinner to accommodate someone flying into SAN that evening. So picked the place b/c they had late dinner reservations. Didn't realize that on Friday and Saturday nights Kevin McCully sings and plays the piano in the bar part of the restaurant next to the dining room and his pleasant rendition of 80s songs delightfully drifts into the dining room. It was delightful. He starts at 8:30pm. We will be back if only for him...BUT I had a steak that was prepared to perfection (a rarity now-a-days). The dining room had an old world charm which we also liked and the service was excellent. It wasn't the cheapest steak dinner I could have had in San Diego, but it was a fantastic meal. We will be back.“
“Had a great business lunch at Bully's,and the food and service remain exceptional. It's nice to eat at a San Diego institution - if it ain't broke, don't fix it - and it ain't broke. Now bring back the Chargers (minus Spanos).“
“Wonderful experience! My boyfriend and I ate here for the first time because we are visiting, and we are now going to be coming back every time. Outdoor ambiance is lovely, and the two very kind bussers turned on the heaters for us. Alec was our server and he was very knowledgeable and nice. Seriously great staff here, loved all of them. :) Food was delish too! Way better than Water Grill lol.“
“I love dining at STK especially during happy hour! Nick is one of the most phenomenal bartenders ever, entertaining and a total superstar, always makes everything a great time. Then there is Scott, GM who is attentive, welcoming and makes sure you have the best experience. I love this place! Gives off sexy vibes, great for intimate dining, big parties or celebrations.“
“Great food and service. The wait times can be extremely long. I put my name on waitlist before i left home and it was a 45 min wait. I got there exactly 45 mins and still waited for 40 mins. But overall still worth the wait especially to try something different.“
“It was the first time that I had ever been to Greystone and let me tell you it was a wonderful experience. The food is top grade and delicious. The chef outdid himself. However it wasn’t just the food and the beautiful surroundings… All the staff were wonderful and attentive… professional… and particularly Michael and Sara. It wasn’t just about the service, they made the evening an experience. They were a pleasure to be around, and truly made the my birthday dinner even better. Their attention to detail and responsiveness, along with the little touches, made the entire night. I absolutely recommend Greystone and when you’re there, ask for Michael and Sara.“
“Service by Nola was friendly, prompt, and efficient!!Nice and peaceful lunch (Bonita Plaza). The food was delicious. We had the sirloin (medium well). Did not have to season ANYTHING. No salt or pepper. Did not need the steak sauce. Will most definitely return.Parking: Handicapped parking in front. Pick up parking easy to access as well“
“Some @sshole reviews here, I mean, it's Black Angus not a $500 for two steak house and for the price point, it's great! Level set on expectations for those thinking they are going to a Mastros! We ate here as we are local and was looking for something quick and nearby. Honestly, it felt really well run, I am sure powered by Latinos --- you can tell the hustle and care! Me encanta! The decor is old and if you been in a Black Angus in 1990s, well it hasn't changed since, but still, great price point and decent steaks!“
“I started with a Australian lemonade (from the bar. It was very delicious). I had a top sirloin cooked perfectly MR. The are running a special salad or other choices. Steak or chicken and cheesecake for dessert. I think the bill ran in the middle 30's our server was on point with everything, you can tell he was not a rookie.Parking: Park on the side of Target. You'll be closer the The Outback“
“We dropped off our car at a long term parking lot and took their free shuttle to our hotel. The driver, Jeff, suggested we stop by the Claim Jumper for dinner exclaiming that they have large portions and are family friendly - which they have and they are!Our waitress was friendly and attentive and led us right to a table without any wait. Food was served quickly and it was tasty. Large drinks! Lots of families with children enjoying their meals. Accessible. Self parking seems difficult, as the area is popular. The hotel has valet parking, but it’s expensive.“
“Best place I have been to in years, and I eat out at least 4 times a week. Amazing food and best service! Eloquent and trendy decor but no stuffy white table cloths. I usually cringe at the meet presentation but don't at this one. Wine selection was very very impressive, 77 pages and something for everyone!!! So good, I am going back tomorrow night.“
