“Best kept secret of El Sobrante: El Chalan, Peruvian and Italian restaurant, offers a family atmosphere with great food at a good price. Warm bread and butter is served from the beginning. Their roast 1/2 chicken and whole fried trout, with home style french fries are very popular. Their sea food dishes, especially the seafood soups are delicious. The Italian food is also excellent. Butter nut squash raviolis, gnocchi, and spaghetti are cooked perfectly. Kids love this place.“

“Date night with the lady and we decided on pizza. We did a quick search and found nothing but over priced greasy choices in our local area (Walnut Creek, Concord). We found four corners pizza n pasta and the pictures and reviews sounded good. We ordered the Papa Charlie’s pizza and a Caesar salad and it had exceeded our expectations. Home made Caesar and ranch dressing, fresh toppings, evenly spread, and crispy crust. You can tell they take pride in their food and it shows. Lots of open seating, great atmosphere and clean. We will be back to try the rest of the menu. This is my new favorite pizza spot and I highly recommend it.“

Best wings I've ever had delivered, and the pizza is really good as well. plenty of toppings, and so far I've only had great experiences with them. Great combo price deals too!“

She actually noticed it was better, and commented on how the tomatoes and cucumber and fresh mozzarella made the perfect bite.My chicken piccata was the best I've had outside of Italy. Her Bolognese was fantastic, and she ate so much she regretted it!Service was excellent; friendly staff, great starter bread, and an overall atmosphere as completely casual with elevated food and service!“

“Enoteca Molinari is a great place to eat! Small, tight menu, with some delicious options. I enjoy their main courses a lot and have trouble deciding between my 3 favorites - the pillowy gnocchi, the savory, salty saltimboca, or (the star!) the tagliatelle with a delicious meat ragu. Good wine list, and they have nice appetizers, salads, and tasty desserts as well. The staff is great as well. Molinari is sort of a vibe - a small, opinionated neighborhood place, with really delicious food. It expanded into a neighboring storefront a few years ago, and now it's easier to get a table! Still has the delicious food, and still the feel of a great neighborhood place. Highly recommended!“

“My experience at Passione Caffè in their gorgeous two-story, well-decorated café at 91 Shattuck Square was simply marvelous. The staff was friendly, quick, and accommodating and the food, drinks, and desserts were delicious! Don’t miss out on the great happy hour/aperativo deals between 4-7PM! It almost goes without mentioning, but Passione Caffè is absolutely true to its slogan: “A corner of Italy in Berkeley.” From the food and drink to the atmosphere and the service, this is the only truly Italian café I have found in Berkeley! And that comes from over a year of experience living and traveling in Italy! Besides the beautiful architecture and interior design of Passione Caffè—not to mention its convenient location next to Downtown Berkeley BART—I would like to point out some highlights on the menu. The pastas are all made with homemade, organic noodles and made-to-order sauces. The pasta dishes are so fresh and authentic! The spaghetti with meatballs, their only Americanized dish, is to die for! The pizzas also are also made with home-made dough and gluten-free options are offered. Try one with fresh prosciutto, mozzarella, and arugula! The fresh panini with Italian meats and cheeses round out the lunch menu. It is possible to have a filling lunch for $7-15, which is definitely reasonably priced by Berkeley standards! A serious final highlight was the artisanal gelato, made in-house by the Italian co-owner, Eleanora Cercatore. There are 12 flavors, weekly made with gluten-free options, that are displayed on a beautiful rotating wheel. The gelato is spectacularly tasty—I cannot recommend it highly enough! “4.5 stars - Delicious pasta made to order and open till midnight! Unfortunately, they don't have public bathrooms and you will not find one at any other nearby establishments. Bring cash to save yourself $1 per plate. Each pasta is served in a plastic container, which can be seen as wasteful. I loved Gypsy's Chicken pasta which is made with creamy white sauce (alfredo maybe?). The chicken can be a little dry, but it is well seasoned. It will still taste good because there is enough sauce to go with it. I will definitely return to this restaurant when im in the area!“
