“This restaurant was so amazing. The ambiance was great, it feels like your in italy and the service was superb. The waiters and the owner were very kind and funny. The food was delicious and each serving is quite large. We ordered the fettuccine alfredo, lasagna, fettuccine with clams and pizza Margherita and everything was top notch. For dessert we had the limoncello cake and the pistachio and ricotta cake which were delicious. They gave out table shots of limoncello which concluded the night on a great note. Overall we loved this place and would totally recommend it and definitely and come back!“
“Whether you are popping in for a glass of wine before shopping at Sepulveda next door or having dinner of their wonderful specials that change daily (check Instagram), you will enjoy your experience at Juan Jasper. Lots of lively conversations between the staff and patrons (while still being attentive), varied and upbeat music playing just loud enough in the background, and a direct view of the kitchen makes for a wonderful atmosphere. A small act of consideration and respect by a customer is rewarded by the generous proprietor. This is what service and dining should be. You can see why folks happily wait to get a seat at this local gem. Cannot recommend enough: great for lunch and dinner.“
“Amazing little restaurant tucked away in the Horton Plaza. There isn’t anything negative to say! Everything from the atmosphere, food menu and most importantly, the service was amazing!! Highly recommended as a must visit if you are vacationing or simply passing through the area to a must if you live or frequent the area. Menu had simple selections and everything from the appetizers to entrees were perfectly timed. My only wish is to be able to bring it to the East coast! We will be back ❤️.“
“I've been seeing this place on tiktok so I finally decided to try with a friend. We had a bit of trouble finding this place, and circled around the building a few times before realizing which store it was. The worker later said that the place was made to be more lowkey/discreet. The vibes inside are 10/10. This would be a nice place for drinks with a friend. The inside is pretty small, so I don't think it would be a group setting type of place. Also, this is definitely more of a place to go for drinks, not food, as the few food items they have are all small appetizers. The service was great! The server who helped us was very friendly and constantly checked up on us. I would definitely come back for drinks. Also, they have a film drop off box at the front of the store which I thought was pretty cool! And the film developing rates were cheaper than other places that I usually go to!“
“Been coming to Coronado for decades and we are over-the-moon with our first experience at Jolie... this is exactly the type of restaurant that has been missing from Coronado's food scene for so long. One usually has to go into San Diego proper to find this type of exquisite fare. Not any more! To complement the tantalizing food and beverage experience, the background music playlist was perfectly curated and at the perfect volume to set the mood but never overpower conversations. We sincerely hope the local and tourist crowds keep Jolie thriving in Coronado! Way to go, kitchen and front-of-house!P.S. the parker house rolls are heavenly“
“Came here the other night for dinner, and the overall experience and food was good.(+) Ambience - cute restaurant.(+) Service - very friendly, attentive.( ) Focaccia - I thought it was okay, but I think the outside could have been a bit more crispy.(+) Porcini and sausage - My favorite pasta of the night, really good flavor. The only issue I had is I think they need to cook the pasta a bit more overall. All of the pastas tasted gummy and still quite doughy.( ) Roman carbonara - It was really interesting eating carbonara with rigatoni pasta. Not necessarily complaining, just an interesting observation. Flavor was good, it was very eggy, but again, the pasta was so doughy and I think needed more time.(+) Short rib ravioli - This was delicious. No notes! Great flavor, short rib was tender, pasta was actually cooked enough.( ) Tiramsu - Tiramisu was just okay, it came in a roll not in a slice, and it was fine. Nothing too standout.Would definitely come here again and try out some other stuff.“
“This is a go to favorite spot for my book club. The food here is always amazing and the atmosphere is lovely. The owner is a great person and helpful. This past year they were willing to host my book club even though they also had two other large parties (and it was raining). The service is always great and accommodating. The closed in patio is lovely and great for your pup. They are dog friendly! We will definitely be back and would recommend it to others.Parking: The lot in front is usually busy and full. The street spots are usually taken as well. If you go around to the back there is a paid lot with plenty of parking.“
“My friend and I came here looking for a quiet little wine bar and this place did not disappoint! They had a fun wine list and we tried wines from different countries like Georgia. The food was delicious and unique. It had a cozy home cooked vibe. The staff was so nice and sincere. We’ll definitely be back next time we visit San Diego. Thank you!“
“Beautiful restaurant. Interior booths need an update due to becoming discolored. The tables by the window give a great ambiance. The crab cakes were delicious and seasoned well. The Augratin potatoes were amazing. First time ever eating Brussel sprouts, and they changed my life. I actually want to eat them now. lol ? Overall great experience. The service is great, from the greeter to the waiter to the kitchen. Would return.“
“Adrian at the winehouse is a true master of customer service. His wine expertise is exceptional, and his attentive, personalized approach makes every visit a delightful experience. He is a true asset to the establishment, turning each wine tasting into a memorable journey. Cheers to Adrian for setting a new standard in customer service!“
“We love brunch here - dinner is a different level of service. We were handed a happy hour menu and later told by the server it was not being honored because it's Easter Sunday. Not Michelin Star service to not have a manager address it. Further, our escargot is normally fantastic - but they all had dirt in them this time. We did not report this to service because it seemed like a forgivable anomaly at the time. We'll be back - but probably stick to brunch.“
“Delightful, informative, fun, funky little wine bar in San Diego's East Village. I love the dealer's choice wine flight, which include 4 tastes of interesting wines including information about the varietal, winery, terroir, and tasting notes. I learn something every time and greatly enjoy the experience!“
“Best place I have been to in years, and I eat out at least 4 times a week. Amazing food and best service! Eloquent and trendy decor but no stuffy white table cloths. I usually cringe at the meet presentation but don't at this one. Wine selection was very very impressive, 77 pages and something for everyone!!! So good, I am going back tomorrow night.“
“I gave the food 5 stars but did not eat here. I believe that it isn't fair to give negative reviews on it if you haven't tried it. Overall, loved the vibe. Around the corner behind the fireplace there was the video selfie station which was fun. I loved the atmosphere. It wasn't busy when we went, but there was a DJ which I appreciated. It is underground so if you don't know it is there then you may not find it which I appreciate. There were no servers so that was a bit annoying. We were sitting in the four chairs by the fireplace and one of our party members had to go and get drinks and miss out on the conversation. Overall though I would definately go back.“
“I've been there now two times for the comedy show on Wednesdays I love the show and the comedians are funny. It's awesome that it's a free show and no minimum purchase required. The last time I didn't do a review but this time the food was pretty good. They serve interesting options. Wish they had a flat bread or something, the patata brava is really good! The tuna tartar was pretty tasty, and I had the persimmon caprese with burrata and it was missing something not sure but it was an interesting taste. I liked the vegetarian options seem to taste good!“
“Cute wine bar with a fun vibe. We came here after dinner and enjoyed our time. There are multiple seating options, indoor and outdoor. Inside, there are some cozy places to sit and talk. The bar tender was knowledgeable and gave us a few generous samples of wine to try before we each bought a glass of wine.“
“Prompt and cordial service. Food was quick and flavorful. Waitress was attentive and check on us several times, refilling drinks as needed. The only suggestion I have is for the super torpedo sub to be lightly toasted. The Chula Vista location does it by default, so we didn't think of asking (our bad). Anyway, the sub tastes much better toasted, in my opinion“
