“My wife and I eat at Ciccia’s regularly but this is our first review after 4 years. Sorry Francesca and Mario! (In my defense I practically never ever write a review.) We keep coming back for the food, ambiance and hospitality. **We’ve gone 3 times in the last week! The crab gnocchi is my wife’s favorite. I get something different almost every time. Every visit I ask Mario about the specials as I like to sample the beef and/or fish (Branzino!) they prepare in addition to pasta. Try the Tomahawk steak if it’s a special that day (call ahead) and you will be amazed. Too many times we fill up on appetizers like mushroom flan, breaded zucchini, calamari, antipasto, and the choices go on! But that’s what to-go containers are for. So much good food to eat at Ciccias we tend to order too many things. It is simply fun to dine there. Once you’re inside the restaurant area (patio area or indoor area) the ambiance is quaint and cozy. Ciccia’s is not big and it’s always filled, but we never feel like it’s too crowded. The energy is always fun and upbeat. Which makes people stay awhile, so let me recommend getting reservations. We’ve had to wait 10-15 minutes but nothing’s perfect! If you want a breezy quick dinner before going off to an event you may want to go to Ciccia’s on another night. Hospitality is what you would expect of a small Italian restaurant run by the owners. Terrific!! If it’s your first time, read their story on the website before you go. They are bona fide top chefs who followed their dreams to open their own place. What a gem it is tucked inside Barrio Logan. One thing regulars may notice is that staff doesn’t appear to turn over much as I’ve seen the same faces working there for years. I think that reflects well on the restaurant. I don’t take pictures of food very often but last night I did. We stopped by at around 9 just to get dessert and a cocktail. My wife had the ricotta cake with apricot and habanero sauce (wow!) and I had cassata siciliana which is traditional cake from Sicily. Pretty to look at and yes, it’s delicious. They do a good job with making an Old Fashioned, which always pairs well with dessert 😜 Buon appetito!“

After some consideration, I decided to try the beef noodle soup and JCK pork dumplings, and I was delighted to find that they were delicious. “Quality Thai food that tastes great!! It’s a minute drive away from Kaiser Otay and I’ve found myself stopping by after my appointments for lunch or for a Thai tea. For the $5, the size they offer their teas are a good price. All the times I’ve been here, service has been great and friendly. Plus points for always playing a throwback RnB music playlist. Parking is seamless and never an issue here.“

One of my favorite is the Mexican Mocha, the breakfast sandwich. To say the least everything on the menu is excellent. I’ve rather support this small family coffee shop, then Starbucks. “I walked in here on my birthday on my way to the zoo, but when I walked in the aroma of the food ? made me sit down on the spot. Once I looked at the menu and seen shaken beef it was over for me AND they have Mexican Coke too!!! One of the nice ladies recommended their wings and asked if I liked spice I said yes and she took care of it from there. I also noticed they have blended Vietnamese coffee ?so that actually has been keeping me coming back at least once a week. Now I just call my order ahead when I leave work from the Scripps Ranch area and swing by and pick it up on my way home.“

“Celebrated my 65th birthday. I had grilled lobster tails which were cooked perfectly. My daughter had the porterhouse which was also grilled and seasoned to perfection. The French onion soup and wedge salad were delicious.“

“Sad to see Phonomenal closed 2 Sundays in a row. Glad we stopped by Pho 7 Cow across the street. Not only were they half the price of Phonomenal but the pho hits just like home. -Dac Biet It was everything you expected in a hot bowl of Vietnamese Pho. This comes out quick so prepare to be one of the first ones to eat at the table -Fillet Migon and Eggroll Vermicelli This was my favorite dish. Light, lots of veggies, and a splash of their house dipping sauce. Only gripe is that they did not have fresh peppers (ot hiem) like most Vietnamese restaurants do. The Vietnamese coffee was good but more on the sweeter side; Id reccomend asking for it to be a bit darker. Love the ambiance and traditional decorations they have displayed all over the restaurant. You do not have to worry about parking at all here!“

“Holy balls this place has the best bahn mi I've ever had in my life. It was love at first bite with the BBQ beef. All the spots in Mira Mesa usually skimp but when I came here, I got a nice thick, fresh, tasty sandwich for roughly 9$ . The beef was tender, the bread was great and overall I can say it was a perfect sandwich. Do yourself a favor and come check this place out. Excited to try the BBQ shrimp bahn mi next.“

“BEST SERVICE! I was waiting for a friend, who was pretty late, they served me a drink and didn't hassle me about sitting there. When she arrived we talked 2 hours. They checked on us, even brought us bags (we had a lot of gifts for each other). I never felt rushed. Food was large portions, great chips and salsa! We felt very comfortable. Even Miguel's family came by to say hello. Great location by a lake with indoor or outdoor seating.“

“I've been going here since I was a wee lad in the 90's and they've gone under renovation exactly once lol. I remember when a combo with 2 items used to cost $7. There's always a line here no matter what time of day. It's because they always stack your food like they're trying to get rid of it lol. One combination can last you multiple meals, so the price is so worth it (almost $15/plate now). There's always families sitting inside in the loud hustle of the hungry crowd. It's like the workers are constantly competing to see who could serve the most food to the most people and the only winners are the customers. I recommend...literally everything. Everything is the best Filipino food I've ever tasted. Nothing even compares. Not even my own parents' cooking, and I'm Filipino!“
