“I've been wanting to try different omakase places in the LA area for a while now, and stumbled upon Omakase by Ozen online - and I'm glad I came! Reservations were made quickly and easily via Yelp, and I love that I was able to change my reservation time without much of a hassle. My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate after I took the MCAT, so we were extremely hungry when we got here. I think this place might have had valet out front, but we opted to just find street parking in the neighborhood for a ~5 minute walk (which worked out afterwards since it let us walk off our food!). The actual restaurant is a very small and quaint place; we sat at a table instead of the bar but I thought the decorations were very cute. Service was very fast and attentive. They handed us a menu as soon as we came in, and we ordered the $130 omakase - which was a pretty good deal for the quality of the food and the whole experience. I do have to say that I was not full after the meal (so my boyfriend and I ended up getting more food afterwards at a different place), but I did enjoy my time here. Definitely worth a try if you're celebrating because of the food and the service, but I personally don't think I'd come back for the omakase.“
“Loreto lived up to my expectations in every aspect. Last minute they were able to accommodate an extra guest for our table, which was much appreciated! Our server (I forget her name, so sorry!) was so attentive and helpful; we had a gluten allergy and she was able to let us know on the spot which dishes had gluten and which didn't. We were coursed so well, with all of the ceviches and tostadas arriving first, followed by hot dishes. For a group of five, we ordered: -3 Oysters Preparado -yellowtail sashimi -Aguachiles Rojo -Leche de Tigre -Bay Scallop ceviche -Tostada a la Joaquin -Tostada Kondo -Tostada Bang Bang! -Camote Horneado -Mar-Esquites -Empanadas de Camaron -Albondigas de Camaron. My favorites of the night were the Aguachiles Rojo, Tostada Kondo and the Albondigas; however the shining star of the night was the Tostada a la Joaquin. The aquachiles was perfectly spicy and fresh with a lot of umami- I could eat 3 servings of this!! Tostada Kondo was also fresh and the scallops were so soft and buttery. The albondigas were an excellent hot dish to share and the green curry they were served in was flavorful and bright. The oysters and yellowtail to start were also excellent. The Tostada a la Joaquin was absolutely perfect; the otoro melted in your mouth and the yuzu vinaigrette was perfectly rich to compliment the tuna. Everyone was so impressed by this dish. The Leche de Tigre and Camote Horneado fell a bit flat for me, but were still enjoyable alongside the other dishes. We had a round of drinks; I ordered the Todos Santos Milkpunch and loved it. Everyone enjoyed their drinks as well! I took not one photo (which is rare for me) because the food and company was so good. We had so much fun here and will return so soon!!“

“Cons: (LONG WAIT EVEN AFTER HAVING RESERVATIONS). I had 6:30pm reservation for my fiancé birthday and had a show to go to at 9pm. We didn’t get seated til about 7pm with no place to really wait but stand at the front of the restaurant with limited space. We didn’t get our food til about 8pm so we had to rush and swallow our food to make it to our 9pm show. We didn’t get to try their butter cake ☹️Pros: the food was delicious. I had the salmon and my fiancé had the sea bass. We also had the truffle ( basically a pizza/flat bread). We were both impressed how tasteful the food was (just wished we had more time to savor our food a bit more). The ambiance is nice and romantic with dim lighting. We sat upstairs as requested per my reservation so that was nice. Drinks were perfect as well. I had a skinny margarita. Also, the manager came over and apologized about the delay and he definitely made it up to us, because of this gesture, it made our experience at NICKS an overall pleasant one.Overall, we will definitely be back. I am now aware that having reservations won’t really matter and there’s a possibility of still waiting to be seated. So expect a wait even to get your food. I think better planning on my end now that i know how it is, so we’re not rushed out or anything, would make it an even better experience. I like to get it with no spice and get the spice on the side to add to taste, but if you can handle spicy then get it spicy and enjoy!! The fish is so soft and all the other seafood compliments each other well with the yummy sour lime taste. The mini sides of choclo (sweet corn), cancha (corn kernels), and sweet potato add so much texture and flavor to the overall dish. Definitely a must try! Lots of their other dishes are really delicious as well, so feel free to try them as well. “We really enjoyed our experience here. In fact, I have shared with several people since then how much I enjoyed being there, and the fact that it was the best meal I have had for sometime. We had the pork chops and salmon. In particular, we felt the meals were very tasty, well presented, and the carrot cake dessert was unique and simultaneously light and decadent. The service was also excellent. Our drinks were regularly filled, and someone was always checking in with us to make sure all of our needs were fulfilled. The only thing I would change is better signage for parking. It was unclear which parking lot was specific for the restaurant, and because the road is one way, we both, in our separate cars, ended up having to go all the way around the block before figuring out precisely where to go. I had to call for specific instructions, and the person with me called me for further instructions. Better signage outside, and also signage for precisely where to once you get out of your car, would be helpful. Also, since you can only park on one side of the parking lot, signage for that would also be helpful.“
“Chito's is my new spot to go when I'm craving food that is authentic, fresh, delicious, and as I like to say "comida de casa". This spot is at their home and they have a beautiful set up 3 tables and lots of chairs for people to sit down and enjoy their food while enjoying the California sun and weather. As soon as we walked in we felt welcomed and they asked us if this was our first time, if it is, you'll get a delicious free taco (unheard of in LA)! They kindly take credit cards and Apple Pay, making it all that much easier to go and eat a delicious meal. The food was FANTASTIC. We ordered the ceviche, the shrimp, fish, and marlin taco, and the fish basket. Everything was soooo delicous tasty, flavorful. The restaurant is behind the Container Store sandwiched between a few other stores so it can be missed at first. Everything was delicious and fresh tasting. The clam chowder is not heavy and very creamy like the clam chowders you'll find at the markets. The restaurant is clean and modern. It just feels like you're having a nice beachside meal without the long drive to the beach. I can't wait to come back and try more stuff on the menu. The best place to park is the public Marriott parking that’s right across the street from Pasadena Memorial Park since it’s only a $1 for the first two hours of parking.“

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the LA one had no wait on a sunday for brunch. we got the all star (2 sausages, 2 bacon , 2 eggs , 2 OG cakes) and these pancakes are to die for. they're crispy and just the right amount of butter and not too sweet either! the hashbrowns are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. not sure why the yelp reviews don't reflect what I experienced when I had it!“

“The service was great. I was shocked that actually Lamb chops were not on the menu. I did not like that it was so dark. I could barely read the menu. I also didn't like that everything was a la carte. They did have chops, on menu of the night. They were pretty good. Def worth the $55. And the sides were good. I had mac, Brussels & mash. All good. We also had a chocolate soufle. It was soo silky & smooth. Definitely worth saving space. I did like the flowers outside & I also recommend a reservation b/c they seem to be pretty popular. The botana tasted very fresh and I enjoyed the different flavors from the various seafood items in the botana. Their customer service was excellent, they were friendly and so helpful. They set up next to a park which helped us when we weren't done eating by closing time so we just moved over to a picnic table at the park.“
