“One of the greatest restaurant in San Diego. A French gem serving real French food. The ambience is warm, and the staff makes you feel special with great attention to details, to comfort. We have never had a wrong evening there. If you celebrate your birthday whoever you are a regular or not, there is a free dessert. Not all restaurants can pretend to such a treat. Crispy epis baguette and butter balls are served for free too at each table. The bar is amazing, it is intimate and welcoming. Thank you for being consistent, hard working, welcoming and we can feel all of this. Thank you for bringing your support to schools, and other great organizations the way you do it. You brought so much to this community.“
“Had a wonderful time here. We were in SD for 5 days and came here twice for dinner because it was so good. All the food was fantastic, great craft beer, and amazing service. Coming from NYC, a lot of the restaurants in the area has very subpar service, but the servers at Sandpiper went above and beyond! Our first night, our server I believe his name was Jake, absolutely made our night. Thank you!“
“We booked the Cove House for our Wedding Welcome Dinner. It was a hit. It was conveniently located in the middle of all of the action for our wedding (we got married next door), so all of our guests just walked here. The food and drinks were delicious (taco bar + apps+cookies) and the staff were so wonderful to work with. We worked with Juliet on the planning and had a dedicated team night of. All of our guests loved it and thought it was such a lovely space right on the Cove. I'd highly recommend the Cove House for any private event or just to grab a bite to eat! Many of our guests returned throughout the weekend for breakfast and lunch.“
“Found restaurant by accident because the service at Barbarella was terrible and Piatti was right across the street. We met some friends from Vegas and wanted them to have a great experience. This was definitely the place. The food was excellent and even the manager jumped in as a server. A++. We'll be back!“
“Brunch here was very nice. * The view over looks La Jolla from inside the hotel. The staff provided great service and were very attentive. Blooy Mary's, Mimosa's, and the Salmon Bendict were filling and very good. Overall, it is a cozy and quaint restaurant to “
“We had breakfast at the restaurant. The prices seemed high for the offering and quality: About $30 for the meal with coffee or juice. Pancakes were unavailable unless you spent $35 for a gourmet version. Oatmeal was watery. Avocado toast didn't use fresh avocadoes but a premade guacamole. The tomato jam was tasty.Dietary restrictions: Make this known upfront.Wheelchair accessibility: Restaurant can be reached by drop-off at the front desk area and then taking the sidewalk to the right.“
“Been here a couple of times before the theater. Love that it is so convenient. Menu a but pricey and sushi is ok, not amazing. Again come for the convenience. House wine is Opolo and is a great choice. Would be nice if they had a happy hour or specials for the theater goers.“
“The drinks were good but per movie theater standards everything is pricy. The tickets were $20 each. We had two drinks total and it was $36 before tip. We came durring advertised happy hour but aparently it's only AT the bar, so that was a bummer. Didn't eat anything since half the budget got taken up by drinks so no idea if the $20+ food items are any good. My suggestion is to pre game and plan on $30/ per person with tip for each meal.“
“Best place to go for dinner in San Diego. Authentic French cuisine, excellent winery and bar and a great service. We've been here several times now whenever we have visited San Diego and have never been disappointed. Thank you Ludo and team!“
“Great Mapel is a great spot for breakfast, brunch or lunch! On a Saturday morning we had about 30 minutes before we could be seated, but the surrounding neighborhoods are super nice for a quick walk. The food presentation is immaculate, and it tastes as good as it looks! The atmosphere is very laid back, and the music was a vibe. Staff was super friendly too! A little pricey but worth every penny.Parking: Not a TON of spots, but usually just enough for a busy day.“
“The cashier recommended the taco platter because i was so overwhelmed by the complete plant based ingredient menu, I didn't know where to start, do I really enjoyed the taco platter with tree variations of the taco ingredients ,all plant based that completely out did any conventional Mexican food i had ever had, and the energy i felt afterwards was great in comparison to wanting to pass out from food coma“
“The gentlemen were super nice and really attentive to my preferences. It blew my mind the way they combined ingredients to make the cocktails taste exactly how you wanted them to. I had a Tiramisu cocktail for dessert and it was phenomenal!“
“Updating my review as I fondly remember my visit here more than a year ago. Best restaurant I've ever been to. Got a table by the kitchen and the chef working there was wonderful to talk to. Top notch service, amazing staff. I've never had a better culinary experience. Hope to return here soon.“
“The food at Nine-Ten is amazing. We had their sashimi to start and it was full of flavor and a lovely touch of acidity. We had the duck as an entree, which came with a pretty decent amount of meat, and asparagus and mushrooms on the side. I'm definitely not doing it justice in the description but it was delicious and filling. Not my favorite duck I've ever had but still tasted great. My favorite part was their half baked chocolate cake. It was the perfect cherry on top of a great meal.“
“We had an absolutely amazing meal and experience at Mati’s!! Dora made us feel right at home. We got the chilaquiles verdes and birria fries and they were both UNREAL! If you are looking for a great spot to eat with not only amazing food, but an amazing experience, get over to Mati’s!!“
“For my money one of, if not the best speak easy in San Diego. The decor is super cool, the drinks are fantastic and it's so small and intimate that it makes for a really unique and fun experience. I've been inside at least 10 times now and it never gets old. Don't sleep on it, it's a fun vibe “
“We had the most exceptional experience and I will certainly be back. Giovanni took care of us as if we were part of his family, with generosity and such warmth. His knowledge is impressive!Let alone his passion for food, wine and spirits.Food was excellent, coffee as well.A little hidden gem!“
“Another speak easy in San Diego! Located inside a bakery. Making reservations for the weekday was pretty easy. I made mine the same day. This is a Japanese inspired bar. They offer small food from the bakery. Kitchen closes at 9pm. My friend and I shared the chicken sando sandwich. The bread was so soft and fluffy. Assuming the bakery baked it. The drinks were good and standard pricing. I got a refreshing drink while my friend got an old fashion. There's a bar area seating and some tables. They also had a bigger room in the back for big groups. Chill spot to talk and sip on drinks.“
“Cannot say enough good things about WestBrew. Great staff, a good beer and wine selection and an amazing atmosphere. We recently hosted a professional mixer there on a Saturday evening and they were happy to take us! Their food was great too. Thanks WestBrew! We hope to be back.“
“atmosphere needs a 10 star option because this is truly one of the best spots in SD for a great theme.the drinks are a bit pricey $15-19 but worth the ambiance of the bar. The food is also high quality. mostly appetizers and finger food but presented and taste amazing. Great date night spot.“
“We visited False Idol for the first time on a Thursday at 10pm. We ran behind that evening and had to cancel our 9:15pm reservation with short notice. Despite this, we were greeted very warmly by the hosts and offered standing room. The ambiance inside is so fun. We were only standing for a minute or two before Elle(so?) made us feel at home, recommending delicious cocktails to try and took our order. The drinks came quickly. The Mac But Chi Chi was the hands down best drink ever. Period. I was so happy for that suggestion! The other drinks were delicious too and we were even escorted to a table that had opened up. It was the best way to end our evening and I can't wait to visit again! Thank you, False Idol, for such a lovely night!“
“Attended an event here last night and their catering menu was on point! The truffle mac and cheese was a personal fave because you could take the premium cheeses used to create it. I also really enjoyed the frisky fried cauliflower and the pretzel bites! The service was also great. The servers refilled my drinks and took my empty plates promptly. This restaurant is perfect for a date night or a small private event! Looks like it would be a really good vibe on a weekend as they also had a DJ. I would definitely recommend this place! S/O to Chef Shawn for the delicious dishes!“
“One of the cooler speakeasy-esque bars that I’ve been to. It’s located behind some old school doors which we didn’t realize at first but once inside, the vibe is spot on. The cocktails were delicious and high quality. They’re also playing some great tunes which sets the mood nicely. Would recommend if you’re in the area!“
“Definitely make a reservation. Totally hip place. Great service. Food is OK. Sadly, the swordfish was not tasty at all. In fact, it was very watery. Definitely not five star tries to be a little too Fancy and a little too much seasoning. And a whole lot of smoky of everything. Cocktails are incredible. Bartender was so good. Decor is just basic. But it’s a very busy place with a really nice little patio out front.Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly based on menu and Quaintance of the restaurant maybe at lunchtime it is but not for dinner“
“Very trendy place in Barrio Logan. Our waitress was awesome! It was 6 of us and she helped pick some tasty drinks to get our girls night out started. Came here in a Friday night, it was pretty busy but we had reservations so they sat us quick!! Good place to just drink and have fun!“
“This is probably my favorite restaurant in San Diego. I love Thai food and have never had any this good! Definitely worth the price. My favorites are the Hat Yai Fried Chicken and the Grilled Angus New York Steak (over beef tallow fried rice). The ambiance is great, though it gets busy on weekends (so you probably want a reservation).“
“Well I can say it's an experience to go here! If you're looking for a lively fun yet uniquely different experience come to Baja Betty's order one of their unique drinks and you will see what I'm talking about. The food was fast the drinks were great and when I say strong I mean STRONG!“
“Best steakhouse in San Diego and one of my favorites in the country- and that's comparing to Chicago and NYC. This restaurant is unique. From the ambiance to the service to the high quality food, it's a special place to go to. I've been here multiple times now and each time is fantastic. It's an old-school steakhouse, where service is top notch, attentive, well-timed, helpful with knowledgeable staff- it's just service you don't see much in San Diego. And the staff seem to enjoy working there. Everything is executed well with outstanding flavor and quality- I think they should be considered for a Michelin star! You get good value for the price and the amuse-bouche along with the palate cleanser before the entree is such a great touch! We had the wedge salad, bread, waygu steak and ribeye. Mushrooms as a side and the bread pudding for dessert. Let's just start with the bacon on the wedge salad- I didn't want it to end. The blue cheese was mild and I'm ok with that. Steaks are cooked perfectly. We wanted to share so they gave us our own plates with the sides on them, then put the steaks between us so we could easily cut and share (they will split it for you too, we just wanted to cut our own). Both were great but this 'ribeye regular' thinks the waygu strip steak is the star. I think it's my favorite steak on the menu! Tender and full of flavor. The mushrooms are excellent as were the house made sauces. Their steak sauce is the best and the peppercorn is fantastic. Their creamy horseradish was too mild for me- I wanted a little more bite and flavor so if you want horseradish flavor, get it raw. Dessert was just ok. We had the chocolate chip bread pudding with butterscotch sauce and chocolate ice cream. I prefer bread pudding to be sliced from a loaf- it's more moist that way. Here it is individually prepared and they warm it up before serving. But it comes out a little charred and even with the sauce it's too dry for me. The butterscotch sauce was excellent as was the ice cream. It just fell a little short for me but still giving a 5, because here, it's about the proteins. The ambiance is vintage western, down to the music and posters- it's really pretty cool. Don't forget to check out the moving bar- the alcohol moves up and down when they need it- very industrial and cool. They book up a few weeks in advance but if you come right when they open you can get the full menu at the bar. They have a great bar menu too. There is also bar seating by the kitchen but that requires a reservation- that's next for me as I love watching the chefs prepare food. It's pricey but you get great value and service for it. It's close to Petco park or the Rady shell- not the best neighborhood but it's a hidden gem. A favorite San Diego restaurant for me.“
“Classic San Diego indoor-outdoor set up where you can't tell if your table is in the dining room or the patio. They kept the feel of the old dealership which was neat! Vegetable dishes were so fun and satisfying, especially when you wipe the plate with the sourdough. Roasted carrots were an explosion of flavors, as was the caulilini. Oreo beignets were a little on the undercooked side but a fun option. Mezcal drinks were also great!“
“The food was excellent. The service stood out as amazing. Six out of five stars. I asked for a sample of the Molé Poblano to taste, and they brought me all four. This is above and beyond and much appreciated. All four moles, by the way, were amazing. I had the Chile Relleno , and it did not disappoint. The margaritas were really good as well. The decor and ambience was cool. All of the walls are clear shelves with tequila bottles all over the place. Very cool.“
“Visiting friends in San Diego and this was one of my favorite stops from a night out.Drinks are awesome and reasonably priced for CA (I’m from the MW prices where cheap)The energy of this place was amazing! Happy energetic people who know how to have a good time. Karaoke was amazing and everyone had a good time doing it or just watching.Overall my experience was great and will definitely return when I’m back in SD!“
“I love this hidden Gem.Never had a bad exp. Always friendly clean looking employees. Good is fresh tasting and its very mod. Priced. Cant say enough goodthings about this place. My first time i had a waiter by name of Luke. He was very attentive and super patient. I go now for the fiod and vibes but cane back cuz of the service he showed. Great place“
“This casual eatery offers burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, and good beer at great value. The laid-back atmosphere includes indoor and outdoor seating and heaters for chilly weather.Kid-friendliness: Casual spot with picnic tables and fenced in so kids can play around a bit.“
“I went on Monday and it was such a fun experience! The lovely bartender made the most refreshing margaritas, and the last word was perfectly balanced. She was very helpful and patient with it being our first time and birthdays. We had such a great time we stayed into the next shift, and the crew was equally as amazing and helpful. Thanks y'all !“
“I was drawn there because of the 5☆ reviews and who dosen't like a good barbecue, but the food was mediocre. The sauce was average, coleslaw meh, and the beans not bad. Now the onion rings is why I went, but I was disappointed to much batter not crispy like a good onion ring should be. The fries, oh yeah. The service was amazing and the price for portion was ok, still a bit pricey.Beware the birthday song“
“Rutget exceeded all expectations! From the delightful drinks to the delectable food and vibrant atmosphere, every aspect was simply outstanding. Without a doubt, I'll eagerly return whenever I find myself in Fashion Valley. Highly recommended!"“
“1st time ever here. My sister bragged about it forever until finally after a loooooong day at Legoland celebrating my son's 3rd birthday we decide to eat there for dinner. I ordered the Loaded baked potato burger...BOOOOMB!!! Sooo delicious I wanna go back for more. Anyway, my son was asleep when we got there and literally when he peaked and woke up. Our waitress Jacqueline paid attention and got him a little brownie to sing to him....he was soooo happy. Jacqueline really made our night with great food suggestions and attentive to with my family. Highly recommend it there. Definitely going back...thank you soooo much for a great finish to a great day“
“The Cordova helped me host a work event and the process was very stress free. It is a smaller local establishment which makes working with them so much easier as they are more flexible and appreciate your business. Lauren was very responsive to all of our requests. The space was perfect for our group of about 20 people and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. They have a nice cocktail menu, priced pretty much on par with what you will see at most San Diego bars. Like others have said the parking can be a little tricky, but you probably want to Uber anyways because you’ll want to stay for more than 1 drink!I have been coming here since they opened and have never been disappointed.“
“Staff was friendly... I don't remember closing out but I had my card the next day... In fact much of my time there I don't remember which, for a bar night, means it must have been a good one! So I'll give them 5 stars... My friends said they all had a good time and I briefly remember petting a dog which always makes for an even more enjoyable experience...“
“Service and food are excellent. I can't get enough of their breakfast/lunch menu - specifically their huevos cazuela and the spicy tuna quesadilla. Both have tuna perfectly seasoned by axiote/achiote. You are missing out if you don't try it.“
“I recommend!! Definitely a hidden gem! ?The food and service were great! Our server Sam was very attentive and kind.We got the Gnocchi Urbino which is gnocchi with white sauce, sausage, mushroom in a thick bread bowl. It was delicious and flavorful !! Rosemary was a nice touch. Perfect for sharing ?We also got the wings for happy hour and they were soooo yummy!Love the concept and unique combinations :)“
“Here in town for mine and my boyfriends anniversary and we randomly looked up bars near our hotel. This one popped up and we decided to go! Sooooo glad we went! The food was absolutely amazing!!!! Those ginger soy marinated wings were soooooo flavored omg. I wanted more and more haha! The service was amazing, if you don't sit at the bar top, you can order from a side window and I swear my drinks came out in less than 2 minutes and the whole place was packed! The guy working the window was extremely friendly and we felt welcome the second we walked in! Will DEFINITELY be back!“
“Good breakfast food but sub par service. The hostess got my cell phone number wrong and after 40 mins of waiting I went back in to check on the status only to be told our table had been given away. Once sat, the waitress was very attentive at the beginning but then was nowhere to be found for 30 full minutes at the end. The food itself is good and is comparable to The Broken Yolk, and came out within 10 minutes of ordering. The atmosphere is quaint and eclectic with most of the seating outdoors. If this was within walking distance of my place, I would probably come here on weekends, but wouldn’t make the drive to eat here again.“
“Was there with a large group (30ish people), and had a single waitress. A sure recipe for disaster. And completely wrong. Our waitress rocked it! She was attentive, got our orders right, and had a good attitude while doing it. Really helped to make the evening fun for us.“
“Dropped in for a late-night beverage and wow did this bring back memories of a youth spent in rural Idaho with many of the same items around our simple town and home. For anyone fond of the classics and the ‘good ol’ days’, you should definitely pop in for a drink to check it out.“
“Wow! Mitchell for the win! What a wonderful mixologist he was in this sexy little “sin confessing” speakeasy! I love a cocktail bar that allows the bartender to showcase their skills and things exactly what he did for us! Definitely recommend this for date night or cocktail night ?“
“The best drip coffee in the area. Finally, I found somewhere to get a full-bodied drip coffee! Most drip Java in San Diego is fruity with sour notes. This little coffee shop stands out. They seem too small to have a kitchen, but this wedged shaped building has a lot. Coffee, pastries, food, roasted beans, loose-leaf teas, and merch everything you might need.I will be back!“
“Stopped by Bottle Rocket after reading all the excellent reviews. It was a Wednesday night which is Wings night (6 wings for $6) so decided to give those a shot. We were welcomed immediately upon entering by the staff and found the service throughout the visit to be prompt and friendly. You have to go to the bar to place your food orders and are given a number to place on your table for delivery. We ordered two of the 6 piece wings as well as a cheeseburger and an order of fries. The wings came out piping hot but a little bit overcooked. The bbq sauce was really good but the mango habanero was more on the sweet side than spicy which was disappointing. The burger looked really appetizing but was a bit average in comparison to similar places we frequent. Fries were crispy and tasty. Bottle Rocket also has an excellent selection of beers available. I would be more apt to visit them in the future for drinks than for their food because the service was super friendly and the vibe of the place was laid back and fun in general.“
“As all my stars show, I can not but say that all in all and hands down everything was nothing but the best in all areas. The calamari appetizer is not to be missed as it’s the best I ever had.My hats off to the owner and the entire group and yes that goes for the valet parking too. Bravo“
“If it wasn’t for Sarah’s recommendation I would’ve stuck with my go to, the short quesabirria taco. I’m so glad I listened to her. The filet mignon was amazing. If you love guacamole and parmigiano reggiano then the Puesto Perfect is for you. Big thanks to Sarah for being the amazing server she is and making our evening extra special.“
