“Best filet I have ever had in my life and thats my staple when going out. It was fantastic, sat on the deck and it was a beautiful night.... (They do have a $75 baled potato on the menu that was a bit comical to think about, but whatever floats your boat I guess ! )“
“A truly stunning restaurant with wonderful service. The mezcal passion fruit drink was great. The food to me was a bit disappointing. For the price of the dishes I feel like there should be more flavor. I got the Salmon and while it was well cooked, I expected more flavor from how the waiters were talking about the food. The carrots in the dish were amazing though. The Peruvian Tuna Crudo was similar. I expected the sauce to have more flavor. The tuna itself was very high quality. The bread however was incredible.“
“Date night was amazing! The drinks were good and the beet salad and filet mignon were to die for. The sauce that comes with the filet is incredible. My only regret is we didn't order 2 filets. I would sub fries for roasted beets or some other side though.“
“This was my first time ever having a lobster roll and it did not disappoint!! The food was so good, staff was the friendliest staff I encountered on my stay. Good music, fun atmosphere, amazing service, and unbelievable food! It was honestly the best food I have ever “
“Had a wonderful time here. We were in SD for 5 days and came here twice for dinner because it was so good. All the food was fantastic, great craft beer, and amazing service. Coming from NYC, a lot of the restaurants in the area has very subpar service, but the servers at Sandpiper went above and beyond! Our first night, our server I believe his name was Jake, absolutely made our night. Thank you!“
“This is an excellent, old-school Italian restaurant hidden in a small hotel in the heart of downtown La Jolla! I've lived in San Diego for years but never knew about Manhattan of La Jolla until a friend recommended it. Do you know how hard it is to find a restaurant these days that is QUIET? OMG... such a delight (and a relief)! If you don't like it quiet, you can sit in the lounge area with live music that's not too overwhelming. If you prefer a quiet experience, ask to be seated in the booths away from the music. We recommend the tableside Caesar salad. The cannelloni and spinach and cheese ravioli were both excellent. The waiter was friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. He also boxed up our leftovers. This doesn't seem like much, but it is a rare service in restaurants these days and was appreciated. GREAT evening!“
“Found restaurant by accident because the service at Barbarella was terrible and Piatti was right across the street. We met some friends from Vegas and wanted them to have a great experience. This was definitely the place. The food was excellent and even the manager jumped in as a server. A++. We'll be back!“
“Really small location but the service and portion sizes were excellent for the lunch price point. I got the spicy honey and chili chicken with a crab Rangoon appetizer. Overall the food was decent but is missing that little bit more to take it to a higher standard, but will still “
“This place is take out only, so I recommend to order ahead of time, at least one hour before. The service is very slow, so don’t come here on an empty stomach, because you will be waiting for a while. The sushi was decent and fresh. The portions are large and well packed.“
“This is a new MUST-visit spot in the village of La Jolla. The owners are a super kind, young couple who welcomed us in during lunch time. They come from a hospitality background and were very excited to begin serving regularly! The fish is extremely fresh and quite incredible! First off, the location on Prospect street is prime. They have a nice outdoor patio with a few tables for people watching on the street. The inside is meticulously designed with modern, nautical decor - and they still plan to add more pieces! Living and working in the village of La Jolla for years, I have had the most difficult time finding a go-to poke bowl in the area. Look no further! We ordered both the salmon bowl and the ahi tuna bowl. The salmon bowl was lightly covered in a delicious sriracha aoli. The tuna was in a flavorful sesame and soy mix. Both cuts of fish were impressive and cubes were the perfect bite size. Lastly, we ordered the yellowtail tostada - again a perfect cut of fish with delicate yet flavorful taste. The portions of all dishes were very generous and worth the price! The owners mentioned how the menu will evolve and I can't wait to come back for more!“
“Brunch here was very nice. * The view over looks La Jolla from inside the hotel. The staff provided great service and were very attentive. Blooy Mary's, Mimosa's, and the Salmon Bendict were filling and very good. Overall, it is a cozy and quaint restaurant to “
“Stunning location, popular spot in La Jolla, particularly if you can sit on the rooftop on a beautiful day! The staff were attentive and professional. Food and drinks were served quickly and all was tasty. Multiple levels also offer indoor dining in a more formal atmosphere.“
“Duke’s La Jolla comes highly recommended! Our entire family had an exceptional experience—we loved everything from the atmosphere and service to the delicious food. We indulged in Poke Tacos, Mac Nut and Herb Crusted Fresh Fish, Cheeseburger Kids meals, and, of course, Hula Pie! Sean, our server, provided excellent service. We're grateful for the wonderful experience and eagerly anticipate dining here again soon.“
“This spot was recommended to me by a local - and it did not disappoint. You order at the front and they bring your food out to you. I got the house swordfish sandwich. So fresh and delicious - grilled fish so you really get the fresh flavor, served with greens, tomato, avocado, and tartar sauce on a soft ciabatta roll. Best fish sandwich I’ve had. The staff is friendly and helpful as well! When I come back to La Jolla, El Pescador will be first on my list!“
