“We were visiting East County and I googled "Vegan Near Me," and El Veganito came up. Vegan Mexican Food! Amazing. It's just amazing food, in general. I got the California burrito, and it was delicious Mexican food and huge! One burrito was lunch and dinner. Just a note, the restaurant is in a food court and not visible from the road. I highly recommend El Veganito.Vegetarian options: All Vegan!“

“Great spot for coffee and lunch. I know a lot of reviews say it's a great place to work from, I have to say I disagree. This is an awesome coffee shop and it has wifi, but it also plays screamo/hard rock music which isn't the most conducive for working and they only allow laptops at certain tables. Will definitely be back but sans laptop.“

“Wow. This place is so cute and beautiful. Fresh flowers everywhere, baked goods showing, great food. They have fresh muffins, breakfast and lunch options. Great prices. We had the La Mesa omelet or the one with bacon and avocado. Country Benedict, Greek salad with chicken, and the Spinach croissant.“

“A nice salty little tap room in a place we never would have found if our dog hadn't broken a $550 nail... The bartender was the pleasantly gruff you would want to expect at a wee neighborhood place. He definitely had me nailed just walking in for a Porter, the wartime chocolate, and a fine pick it was. As always in San Diego, a very IPA heavy menu (5 IPA, 3 cream, 2 sour) out of 16 taps, but the Kolsh was good as well. Atmosphere was very nice, for a cozy little place, especially for Canadian WWII buffs. If I am back this way, I will be back.“

“This restaurant is in downtown La Mesa seriously amazing. Probably the best burger I've ever had. I got to be the last burger before they sold out. it was so juicy but honestly this sauce they put on top has like southwest flavoring, and they have roasted poblano peppers on top of the burger. So much flavor but not falling apart. This place is clean, nice and the most accommodating staff. The owners were there and took care of us personally. It's definitely worth the line.“

“I loved their mocha! Great local coffee place and café. Lots of outdoor seating and parking. The staff was super friendly. Great experience! I will definitely be back. My only disappointment is that they do not have merch! Would have loved to get a fun T-shirt, hat or beanie. Coffee culture is a thing. “I'm a regular visitor, live in the neighborhood. There's something about this brewing, it has its own charm. They have sour and regular beers. Two separate warehouses. I prefer regular and there are lots to choose from. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday they have food track till 8 pm and live music on weekends. The atmosphere and people are very nice here. It feels like a family:). I recommend visiting this place on the weekend evening.“

“This restaurant was a perfectly cozy place to bring our extended family (including two toddlers) to during the Thanksgiving weekend. Reservations were easy to make, the waiter was knowledgeable, prompt, and kind, and the food was delicious from appetizers to their spritzes and main course. Parking was easy, the restrooms were clean and we left happily full and well-served within 90 minutes, which is pretty awesome for a full restaurant!“

“We went to Smokey and the brisket on a Friday with my husband's family, we all have various wants and desires and Nicki handled all of our very different things with grace and professionalism. From our crying child about a cheese pizza to our grumbling bride working on her veil (at a BBQ place I know not the best idea but I was trying to get it done before Sunday) his family had flown in and were starving. “I really like this sandwich shop and love that I can get a small sandwich and soup and it'll can be stretched to two meals. The sandwiches are fresh, the breads, meats, and they are not shy with the veggies. They also have a great selection of soups that is hard to find these days. “Came here on a weekend afternoon to try some beers. There are picnic tables outside and they had a Mexican food cart in front of the brewery. This is a nice brewery tucked away in La Mesa. Unfortunately I didn’t care too much for the beer selection that they had, there was nothing that really well with me, but I really enjoyed the location and the staff were very friendly. I will pop in another time when the tops rotate to try out some more beers.“

Dark area but relatively safe. had been coming here for years and it's always been one of my favorite local dive bars until I moved on temporary assignment for a few years. Now that I'm back its still the same chill vibe, decent crowd and good spot to shoot a little pool and meet a friend or 2 for drinks. “I had yogurt ice cream at The Yogurt Mill for the first time this past week and was very pleased with the atmosphere, customer service and what I ordered. I had the chocolate yogurt ice cream with milk chocolate chips in a medium size and it was perfect and delicious - and I am particular about what I like in yogurt ice cream because they are not all the same in quality.The owner of the business was very pleasant and helpful and the store was attractive and clean. We go to La Mesa's main street now and then and now I know where to go in the future for great yogurt ice cream there.“

“All of their food here is great is great at reasonable prices. I also shop here a lot for items I can't find at more mainstream grocery stores. All of their produce and frozen items are good and hard to find anywhere else. Lines are never long and everyone is helpful and nice.“

The stuffed potato skin appetizers, the bread pudding dessert, the red cabbage, the boxtys, the mac n' cheese, ANYTHING with corned beef! I'm always so happy in my belly with Hooley's to eat. My experience with service and atmosphere has generally been a mixed bag. The quiet dining area is pretty boring, so I tend to prefer the bar area (still have regular tables, not strictly bar-seating) for smaller groups.Parking: The restaurant is very much situated within Grossmont Mall, so there is a lot of parking. It's far enough from the general shopping area that even during busy shopping times, I always get a spot close.“

There is a fresh market inside the redtaurant entrance that sells many of the condiments, seafood items, salads, etc. This is an excellent choice for tourists and neighborhood folks alike.
