“still here at the moment. this place is a cozy, hole in the wall establishment. the smash burger they have here is intoxicating all on it's own, it literally melts in your mouth. I added some fries on the side and my drink of choice was the natural red wine. I paired these fantastic options with the outdoor seating that is located in the back. I chose this place because it's within walking distance of where I live. I'm glad it's nearby, because I'll be coming back again. It's my first time here by the way. 5 out of 5 ! Also, let me add that the music playlist they have in rotation is curated perfectly well. Good vibes to say the least.“

BNS Brewing and Distillery Bar • $$
10960 Wheatlands Ave, Santee - 2.23 miles

“This place is hoppin! Monday nights are a great night to come here and learn to line dance, or just watch all the beautiful people line dance. The crowd was mixed with young people and their parents ( I think) I know I look like someone's parent. My kid would never be seen with me here, but anyway. I had an imperial stout and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I used to be a stout/porter/dark beer girl. Ok, I was a beer babe back in the day. But nowadays, I only drink tequila or seltzers for the carb savings. On this Monday, I chose to break my new pattern and enjoy one of my old favorites. The Imperial stout had good carbonation, was full flavored but not over powering or bitter. It was excellent if I might say. I saw that they have events every night of the week, and this place is very popular, trendy, and happening for a SANTEE establishment.“

We were taken our a tour of the lodge which was remarkably large and beautiful. The parking was equipped for an abundance of parking for large events. Karaoke was fun and the room was full! “My wife and I are big fans of all things Tiki and we've been wanting to go to The Luau for awhile now. Last night we finally went and it was so worth it. We were greeted the moment we entered the door. The bar was full so we went to the outside patio which was decorated perfectly with tiki water fountains and vintage longboard surf boards. Our bartender John was amazing and lit the spiral propane heater as it was a bit cold outside. He got us our two Mai Tai drinks (they were amazing by the way)super quick and kept our bowl of Goldfish and pretzels full at all times. John was such an attentive bartender and made sure we always had everything we needed including waters. Mind you it was very busy and he had a lot of other customers to serve but in spite of that he managed to check on us quite often. As the evening got later the inside tiki bar was less crowded and so we went inside. It was decorated so cool and a very warm and friendly atmosphere. We met the other bartender Tony and he was very friendly and attentive as well. Great experience we will definitely be back. Excellent tiki drinks in perfect tiki mugs at a reasonable price. We were both so happy we went to " The Luau"“

“Visited on 12/16/23 with a buddy after hiking Mission Trails. Had the AJ IPA and he had the rotating IPA. Both were tasty. We also split the golden stout. Pours gold in color, not the usual darker color associated with a stout. Very tasty and my buddy said with hints of caramel. Andrew the bartender was cool and laid back. You need to check this place out.“

Navajo Live Bar • $
8515 Navajo Rd, San Diego - 6.49 miles

“Came here for the first time. We were looking for live music all over san diego rather than going all the way for Solona for the Belly up tavern we found this hidden gem instead. We sat down and felt right at home, and while we were there I started reading the Low star yelp reviews and was rather shocked people were complaining about the Drinks and the level of noise. I had a jack and diet and ONLY paid 8$ Not only is that cheap considered we go to Pool Bars and Speakeasies where you would pay 15$ for a drink but it was incredibly strong. The Bar tender was incredibly kind and Helped my girlfriend who doesn't drink Much in picking out something. There was no one there except for the bands friends which is extremely upsetting because I Have not seen such raw talent in a long time. The bathroom in turn were rather clean which is something you wouldn't expect. This place is absolutely a hidden Gem I wish we knew about it sooner. Will have to take my family and anybody out in east county here asap!“

“Phenomenal food and service!!! I came in for a late lunch and was greeted by the owner Miguel, who lured me in with a delicious smelling steak he was cooking up on their outdoor smoker grill. Brooke, the waitress and bartender gave exceptional service! I mentioned I liked the olives in my bloodymary so she totally surprised me with an extra full skewer of them! Their bloodymary mix is homemade, I asked for mine to be spicy and she did it very well! I ordered the verde pozole that was fantastic and freshly made with all the fixings - Freddy is an excellent chef! I also ordered the elote bites and I agree with the menu description - an absolute favorite! Moderate sized bites of elote goodness sprinkled with some cotija and a homemade creamy chipotle sauce for dipping. I also ordered their wings and went with the mango habenero sauce that was absolutely delicious - perfect mix of heat & sweet over savory delicious crispy wings, served with an ample portion of homemade delicious ranch dressing good enough to scrape the last bite of! When I saw the sign. American and Mexican food, I was unsure if it'd be disappointing Americanized Mexican dishes...nope, the sign is exactly correct, their menu is a separate mix of delicious authentic GREAT Mexican food AND delicious homemade GREAT American food. The atmosphere is perfect to chill and catch any type of TV you'd like to watch, mix of sports, classic movies, the news, and more. Steele 94 offers a wide range of exquisite bourbons, whiskeys, and other fine liquor classics and draft beers. But wait there's more.... WATER IS FILTERED AND FRESH!!! Most places serve tap water that tastes like chemicals, Steele 94 serves refreshing filtered water that tastes like you're drinking straight from a mountain spring - no residues or floating chemicals in the water or ice! Nestled in a quaint area at the bottom of the mountains, there are other nearby great and unbeatable shopping for other goods such as produce and farm supplies, and of course my favorite veterinarian is right across the street, Steele Canyon Vet. I could go on and on raving about this place, but it's better to come and get the best dining experience for yourself!!! Plenty of parking available, and very affordable for such exceptional quality. See pics below for current menu and foodie pics :)“

The dried tomatoes on it was so good. Pesto sauce was creamy. I had shrimp and meatballs on it. Chicken and shrimp would have been better. The build your own pasta is good for two especially if you're having 2 kinds of meat. Their meatballs was big and good, that would be great with the spaghetti not pesto.“
