“Walking Santee Alleys makes you hungry and Mex Peru Gipsy is EXCELLENT, 5 star for food and service. My family ordered a little bit of everything - the gotta has a chipotle sauce which brings together the flavors perfectly. The menudo was authentic and they bring out all the condiments. The lomo saltado and tallarín was perfect. The serve is fast and friendly as if you're eating with family. Everyone here takes great pride in what they serve. Worth driving to even if you're not shopping the alleys.“
“Excellent restaurant, very clean and the food is great. Only issue is the parking, only street parking but it’s not a big deal. After eating delicious food you don’t care about it.Parking: Wish they had a parking spot, but after eating good food at a good restaurant it doesn’t matter.“
“The place it's beautiful on the back has a little place whit plant an tarp so can enjoy outdoor whit a heating system if feel cold and the ambient it's nice for Saturday dinner and the food we'll it's Japanese food it's delicious enjoy“
“Si lo recomiendo, la comida muy buena y hoy después de un arduo día de trabajo en el Peru Village Festival, vinimos y nos llevamos un grata impresión, su gente súper amigable, había música increíble, me sentí en mi Callao Querido. Gracias por hacer que mi día termine súper bien :)“
“Had my birthday party dinner here and what a delight it was. Special shoutout to Jesus and the rest of the team for such a lovely experience! The food was amazing (seriously, order the #69 and you’ll thank me), the vibes were great and everyone was so accommodating. Can’t recommend them enough!“
“I was really impressed by the great taste of the food and the quality of service showed by its staff, Peter customer service skills are outstanding by all means)) Kudos to the folks in the kitchen, because their food was delicious!Vegetarian options: Saltado“
“Saltado de mariscos is the best here , I've been coming here for soooooo long I had my 5th grade graduation dinner here lol The pan with Ají sauce with some butter to get started is top notch ! The service is always great they are alert of the table if we need anything else . Wait time can be wildly long if you plan on going on a weekend 40+ minute wait ! Just go to the 711 hang out in the parking lot the food is worth the wait .“
“This is my second time visiting & the staff is super friendly! My first visit I called day of to get a tres leches cake and everyone loved how it tasted. My second visit I tried more of their pastries & am definitely hooked! A gem of a place and will be visiting more.“
“The best grilled chicken smoked like a barbecue grill in town this is a must try must eatVegetarian options: Other vegetarian options are planting salad rice beansKid-friendliness: Kid friendly fries also plantainsWheelchair accessibility: Double door accessible for wheelchair“
“Yummy food! Happy to have been able to walk in on a Saturday as a group of 4 and be accommodated right away. Definitely worth trying but..Be aware of their verbiage when dining, they might try to upsell ya on water, etc. Also the check felt like a trap.. They added a service charge that ended up being 20% when doing the math. But still had a dedicated line showing suggested tip amounts. So you might end up tipping twice which isn’t the end of the world but still felt pretty deceitful.“
“My go to spot for delivery , I've only ate once inside but usually I order for delivery and they never miss ! I always get the chicken with fries and the amount of fries they give you is wonderful ! The taste of the chicken is very Smokey but it isn't overpowering the ají sauce I always order extra the spice level is great I'm use to spicy salsas , foods I enjoy the level of this ají sauce .“
“We went for dinner, we arrived at 8pm and there was no service at the table, only takeaway... the food was very delicious and well served, the place is not very big but it is cozy! Totally recommended... the prices are affordable, we ordered for two and spent around 40 dollars.Kid-friendliness: If you come from Peru or Latin America you will find rice!!! What do children ask for...“
“I ordered the #4 . I haven’t been here since I was a kid . I’m so happy to see the business is still here and thriving. I LOVE the beans . Rice and chicken were delicious . Chicken was juicy. I had the Maracuya beverage . HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you like sweet drinks . I hope to come back soon.“
“Thank God! They are OPEN!!! It may be Take-Out for now, but the Amazing Flavors & Warm Hospitality is definitely still there! I really missed Peruvian Food in my life! I was tired of cooking and eating the same-old fast-food,! Welcome Back!“
“Pretty low key spot. Simple tables , kinda sparse design but clean and comfortable. Good service, but low key. Food was solid. Had the mixed Ceviche and it was solid. I'm a ceviche connoisseur, but this was comparable to what I'd generally get in Lima. On a really tough scale as someone who has tried some of the best ceviche recipes you come across in multiple countries, I give it a 7.5-8 out of 10. Really, good, deserving of a 9 out of 10 on an l LA Peruvian ceviche scale. It was served the very traditional way I don't often see outside of Peru. Good spot if you like Peruvian food. Want to come back to try other dishes.“
“Stumbled upon this place randomly while shopping in the fashion district. The service was good but the food was GREAT! Absolutely loved the Camarones Saltado! It was served hot and absolutely delicious. I will come back again and again. This is my new go-to for Peruvian. :)“
“No frills, delicious Peruvian food spot at the same price point as El Pollo Loco. I order the pollo a la brasa and the Jalea mixta - both are bomb. Nearby Yelp favorite Rosty is literally double the price for a whole pollo and the quality is not profoundly better. Ive been here about 5 times now and the food and service is consistent. Given that I'm not sure why this place doesn't have much better reviews, but thankfully the demographic that eats here doesn't seem to rely on Yelp.“
“Love this place. Delicious and authentic Peruvian food. Arroz con mariscos and the ceviche is my favorite. The chef always comes to our table to make sure our order is correct. The vibes is nice the salsa music, is small but all it matters is the taste of it.“
“Rikas Peruvian restaurant is like the 5th or 6th Peruvian restaurant I've been to in LA. It's interesting because it's located in Koreatown. But this little Peruvian restaurant packs a bunch. I enjoyed it a lot. It's like classic Peruvian comfort food. If you guys haven't tried their ceviche mixto, it is a must try. It's probably the best Peruvian ceviche I'd had in LA. Nice fresh raw fish, and the sourness to the juice was just about right. Their chaufa pollo, or chicken fried rice, was also another knockout. It's safe to say that this is the best fried rice I've had outside of any Asian restaurant. Haha. Their lomo saltado was also pretty solid. Great sauce, fries, and steak. In all, I would highly recommend Rikas if you are in town. It is one of the best Peruvian restaurants in the area. You'll feel so great after eating the food here. The chef Jose is also a hospitable man. Look out for him if you come here. I shot a Youtube video of my experience at Rikas, which you can find on my Youtube channel Rockstar Eater.“
“Having a delicious dinner, an excellent view, an excellent atmosphere with very professional service was one of the best experiences I have ever had in this type of restaurant. I highly recommend it, especially because of the explosive flavors of the food, something that you are not normally used to but something that you will love and can become addicted to.“
