“Don't live close any more, but I drove 140 miles to see if they are still great. Answer: yes! The way they treat you, it feels like "welcome home". Had an omelet full of New Orleans flavors. Left full and happy. 5 stars all the way!“

“I had no idea how this worked when I went, but the food tasted great. You will get your food marinated in a bag and you have to peel the food on your own. They give you a bin and gloves. Very reasonable prices and attentive service, I would come here again.“

“Food, chef's kiss! I'm yelling cuz it's that good! Too bad I'm not a morning person, but to have some Red's breakfast, I will wake up early. We ordered Texas scramble with potatoes. Those potatoes have my heart! So good! Also ordered shrimp & grits - 100% stamp of approval. So delicious and full of flavor. Not runny but substantially good. Can't wait to try the other items on the menu.Picked up food so didn't eat inside. I suggest calling in your order because they get busy, especially during the holidays.“

“I give the food at 3 it's not the worst food but the atmosphere and the food don't coherent the atmosphere is great but the food and the pricing don't go together the food should be a little bit better for the price and then the atmosphere and the price would go great I always get the gumbo and the small crabs is complete mush but the rest of it is deliciousParking: Limited parking... The parking lot has about 7 parking spaces that's usually full but there's free neighborhood parking“

“This is a casual, plain looking, decent size restaurant. It has a very small and inadequate parking area on site, but there is street parking available. The service is average and unhurried. The prices are moderate and its kind of a nice, informal place to go. The Fish and Chips was exceptional. The clams are served in large plastic bag with lots of garlic butter. They're small but its a good portion. They were out of several things including lobster and oysters. The garlic noodles side dish was tasty, cooked perfectly and was excellent. The restaurant's decor is very much like a typical New England shoreline (non-tourist) local restaurant with tables, a brick wall, standard decor. It was plain and comfortable. I might suggest that you look at the menu online before going and call to see what they're out of. All in all, it was a very good experience and is definitely recommended. We'll be back. “I work nearby and I’ve been craving something sweet so I picked up some banana pudding from here and it was SO GOOD! It was the perfect amount of sweetness, bananas were good and the wafers still had texture to them. If that was just the dessert, I can’t wait to come back for the food!“

“Went there today just before closing. Purchased oxtails with candied yams & rice and gravy. Excellent tasting, the gravy was delicious oxtails were falling off the bones and the candied yams were very good also. Did not really like the corn bread dressing. The hostess, Star was very friendly and welcoming. I'm from the Chi and recommend it highly. Price was right also.Looking for good food check Matthews at 2222 W. Rosecran out. They also have delivery. Thanks Star, MickeyParking: Many“

“Let's get right to the fooooood! I had got creole style catfish, blackened over a bed of crawfish rice with creole sauce & then paired with red pepper cabbage and Mac & cheese. The catfish with the creole sauce legit so good and comforting so to speak! The cabbage went great with it, so nicely steamed and seasoned. The mac & cheese wasn't my favorite, seemed overly seasoned with pepper. Everything else was great, I savored every bite!“

“Ordered fresh oysters. They were nice but so small in size. Never had oysters that small. It's like a quarter sized coin. Ordered the crab but was not told it was a frozen crab. The texture was not very nice. Crab was charged as such though. Also, I ordered clams, shrimp, eggs, potatoes, and the calendar fries. All were as expected but the clams were very nice and large. Last comment is the spice level. Seems Westwood' XXX is different than Rosemead's XXX. Westwood XXX is not spicy at ?“
“This is a small place next to a small parking lot. So I was there on a rainy late Saturday afternoon and got right up to the order window. I had the fish and shrimp combo with cabbage and red beans & rice. The fish was fairly thickly and crunchy-battered cooked just right. The shrimp were quite large for a combo plate... this place isn't cheap, but they have it all down to a Cajun science. Food: 5* (Delicious to an item) Service: 5* (Delivered to my car) Looks like I'll be returning here!“

“Enjoyed our meal. 1 small bad was my not spicy soup had SOMETHING SUPER spicy in it. That took a while to recover from. Also be aware the receipt has a line for tip but the automatically include the tip in your total. They failed to tell us this which is not so cool. Still, I'd go back to try more things. The Cajun fries were amazing.“

“This is my first time eating seafood boil at a restaurant and I had a great experience here! Luis was our host and he was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and came out quickly. I ordered the shrimp (head on) and snow crab with daddy sauce and medium spice (I didn't feel that it was spicy, but perhaps that is just my tolerance). Would definitely recommend to friends.“

“I frequent this place quite a bit and love it! Bill is our favorite server when we dine-in. We call him Mr. Bill. He is always friendly. The food is awesome. At least the crab leg seafood boil is. That’s all I get and my friend likes the crawfish. The atmosphere is welcoming and pleasant. This past weekend I ordered take-out. The young lady who took the Oder over the phone was kind as well as the young lady when I picked it up. Always a great experience.Parking: Huge parking lot shared with other establishments“

“Grand opening! Great location with all the sandwich classics, plus po' boy sammies and desserts. I've tried the onion rings, cheesesteak, shrimp po' boy, turkey and cheese, and a chicken salad sandwich.I've been stopping by everytime I drive by the area!Friendly service and very fulfilling eats!“
“Unfortunate to say, this is a permanently closed location now. However, the service here was excellent and they really put in effort to ensure that the asked variety of chicken pieces are well cooked and served to us while keeping mind the health protocols. I will be missing this place, hopefully they open another location, soon :)“

“Chef Marilyn's has been a staple in LA for many years at this location and the other location across from McDonald's near 43rd. Lines are always long as it's a takeout location but the food is always good. I get her prices went up but what hasn't these days. Inflation is real for food, groceries and gotta keep staff at competitive wages. The food is so bomb nothing is never nasty chicken meatloaf spaghetti yams greens cornbread smothered chicken and her gumbo is everything. We love it here and will keep visiting. Her ambiance is a to go so it's busy and staff can be a bit slower but they are friendly. Some of the best soul food on the west coast.“

“The food is good when they have the right chef other times is like they just want to cook something fast and mess up the food like one example the kung pao chicken should be spicy but it wasn't this 3rd time that I went there also the spicy fish wasn't either and no flavor ,and I've tried those before and it was “
